Epic of Ice Dragon: Reborn As An Ice Dragon With A System

The moment Drake was about to catch the sorceress, he saw her disappear through a strange door that appeared out of nowhere, a Dimensional Gate created by a powerful magician. Not only did it bring her somewhere else, but it was about to close.

Using all his strength, he attempted to stop the door from closing, extending his claws forward, only a second from reaching his destination. As he gazed past the door, he saw the sorceress on the floor, gasping for air as she watched with horror at him approaching her.

“It’s a Dimensional Gate, if I can extend my claw there and open it, I can get inside and see for myself what the hell is that place!”

However, as his claws finally reached the door and the sorceress screamed in panic as he, the monstrous dragon approached, someone stepped forward, a large, muscular figure. With a long katana encompassed with blazing, crimson flames, he moved even faster than Katsuie Shibata, his Aura erupting with immense strength as he attempted to stop Drake from entering their Castle.

“It is not yet time for you to meet our Great Emperor! Mind your manners, barbarian!”

Clad in completely red armor with a mask resembling a ferocious crimson oni, the swordsman swung his long katana, unleashing a gigantic storm of slicing waves made of infernal, demonic flames!

“{Odoru Jigoku: Dancing Inferno}!”

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

“Ugh?!”

Drake’s claws were sliced apart as he was pushed away, his scales even got some damage, gaining cracks, the attack didn’t stop there. As he attempted to retaliate and attempted to remain close to the Dimensional Gate, an explosion of flames engulfed him completely, born from the previous series of attacks.

“{Moeru Kurushimi: Burning Agony}!”

The exemplary usage of techniques, magic, and powerful aura left Drake shocked, as this man was by far, much stronger than Katsuie Shibata!

BOOOMMM!!!

As the explosion of flames sent him flying away, the Tatami Door closed, leaving Drake without any other way to reach Oda Nobunaga…

FLASH!

Drake let out a freezing shockwave, as the tornado made of flames that had trapped him quickly disappeared. He appeared amidst the skies, almost unscathed…

Almost.

He did get some damage, and that man’s blade and techniques were certainly top-notch, if they were even capable of harming a Venerable such as him.

This only meant one thing, Katsuie Shibata was perhaps among the weakest of Oda Nobunaga’s Generals!

“Hah, what the hell was that? That guy really pisses me off… Calling me a barbarian and stopping me from reaching Oda Nobunaga… Damn it.”

Drake groaned angrily, letting flames come out of his nose as he grew furious. But his freezing aura slowly cooled down his temper, as he smiled.

After thinking about it for some time, he quickly came to the realization that this wasn’t bad at all.

Indeed.

He might have let that bitch go, but by doing so, he was also able to safely relay the information about him being a threat to the big boss of Zipangu’s invasion.

And if what she said was correct, Oda Nobunaga might attempt to chase him with his subordinates, which wasn’t a bad thing at all either.

If they came after him, then they would be making Drake’s job easier, and if they concentrate more on defeating him rather than invading other lands through Yggdrasil, then that was even better!

Of course, nothing would ever be so easy, Drake knew it wouldn’t be so convenient, but at least, if he could at the very least divert some of Oda Nobunaga’s forces, then that would be really good.

“But that guy… his Aura was powerful, and I am fairly sure he wasn’t even going serious.”

Drake closed his fists, feeling excited for another brawl already, his dragon blood was boiling with bloodthirst and a desire for blood pumping battles. Upon his recent ascension, he knew there weren’t many that could be a threat to him now, and with Oberon losing against him all the time, he wasn’t even sure if the fairy would be able to stop him now.

But with the invasion of Zipangu, things all around Yggdrasil are now changing, perhaps for the worst… but at the same time, despite how it might sound a little cruel, it was perfect for him, as they would bring enough challenges and battles that would help Drake continue growing.

Drake quickly merged with the Doppelganger he had sent there, quickly assessing what had happened and thinking about it.

“It seems that the bastard of Oda is hiding inside some sort of Dimensional Castle, or something of the sort…” Drake thought. “It’s either that or all his subordinates do… to an extent? I can’t completely tell though and trying to guess everything isn’t really going to help either.”

As he thought about these things, Drake quickly remembered that swordsman again, and the sorceress…

“If she was scared of me getting there, and the guy stopped me, it means that they don’t want visitors, or they aren’t confident they could take me on if I get there… perhaps it’s a place that can be destroyed? Hmm… I certainly felt more presences inside of that place, especially a gigantic one, but faintly.”

Drake for a moment stopped thinking about that, realizing that the powerful presence could have been nobody else but him.

“Was that the Oda Nobunaga then? Perhaps he’s the one controlling that Dimensional Castle… Is this how he’s moving to Yggdrasil while he spreads his army through the entire world?”

There were a lot of thoughts rushing through Drake’s mind, but he couldn’t be bothered to decipher everything now, with the festivities and all, he decided to relax and think about it tomorrow.

It seemed that some of his family members had noticed something weird as well, and were quite curious, but he kept his mouth shut about it until tomorrow, as he didn’t want to make the atmosphere of this festival any sourer than it already could get.

“Don’t worry, Benladann, we can talk about it tomorrow. For now, let’s simply let these people enjoy this feast, they need it.”
