Chapter 817: Late Stage Universe Master
Chapter 817: Late Stage Universe Master
—
Time flowed as Cedric’s busy schedule kept him occupied, and soon, another 50 years passed.
This marks his 200th year since becoming the Rising Sun Sector Domain’s Sector Lord. A lot has happened since, but the development of his territory was still far from done.
One thing that he’s thankful for is that he spent the recent years in relative peace. Nobody threatened the peace and security of his land aside from that one time with the Bug Empress.
He continued everything as is. The development of his territory was on schedule, and they’re meeting the quota every time. This was mostly because of his generosity.
With such generous living conditions and a healthy work environment, his people didn’t mind the boring, tedious, and repetitive work. In a world where strength speaks the loudest and threats are at every corner, simplicity was rather rare but extremely welcomed.
Because of this, the Rising Sun Domain saw a generous growth with its population. There was a steady stream of nomadic tribes visiting and then later deciding to stay in his territory, becoming his citizens.
All five small cosmic realms within his territory are being populated nicely. There are still a lot of places to fill, but that will be solved with time.
As for his own people, the people of the Primeval Scarlet Dust Realm. They too are doing well.
Cedric was obviously very biased towards them, but that’s natural; they’re his people, after all. Not some outsiders who came here to seek shelter. Anyone in his position would do the same.
But of course, he didn’t show too much bias. He did it in moderation. Not because he doesn’t want to or he can’t, but for stability.
Cedric and his family had long retreated to the shadows. While they remain as the de facto leader of the Primeval Scarlet Dust Realm, they’re not tyrants who micro-manage everything. They guide from behind the shadows, steering their people into the correct lane for development.
They will provide what is needed if necessary. But they also don’t want everybody to be reliant on them. Their people must learn to grow semi-independently; that’s the right way to go.
And they’re doing just that. They’re doing it very well, even.
The reception of the existence of the Primitive Universe was rather smooth. Of course, not everybody knows. Only those who are qualified to know will know. But even after learning about the absurd truth, everybody manages to recover and accept things as they are, which eliminates any chances of instability.
Therefore, their growth had been rather quick and smooth.
Cedric didn’t have to do much. Neither does his family, for that matter. They continued to remain behind the scenes, watching, observing, and satisfied.
**
Of course, while developing his territory was a priority, Cedric never slacked off in his cultivation.
He, of all people, knows that wherever he went, strength spoke the loudest. If he wanted to have a voice, it must be backed up with sufficient strength. Otherwise, everything else is meaningless.
That’s why, for the most part, his real body was in seclusion while his clones took care of his regular responsibilities.
He spent most of his time staring at the structures of concept laws shamelessly, taking full advantage of his unique talent. The Supreme Will remains unresponsive or ignorant of his abilities, which works perfectly for him.
Cedric wasn’t one to be idle. In the years he spent analyzing the raw concept law structures, he managed to elevate his comprehension of Sword Laws and Fire Laws to the Heavenly Level too.
Yes, he did that. Cedric now knows three concept laws at the Heavenly Law level.
While other Universe Masters are scrambling to feed and expand their Inner Worlds, juggling their real-world responsibilities while also trying to find time to comprehend concept laws and search for additional opportunities, Cedric was sitting here with three at the Heavenly Law level.
It was unreal.
Mind you, a Universe Master with a single Heavenly Law under their belt is already considered very strong. Typically, most Universe Masters are trying to elevate their concept laws to the peak of the Great Law level, not the Heavenly Law level.
Those who usually consider upgrading their concept laws comprehension to the Heavenly Law level were Heavenly Venerates, not Universe Masters. And even Heavenly Venerates only have one Heavenly Law they prioritize, one that’s been with them since the beginning.
Cedric has three. And if he continued to go as he was, possibly even more by the time he becomes a Heavenly Venerate himself.
It’s unfair, truly. And all of this was because he was able to look at the raw structure concept laws without facing any backlash from the Supreme Will.
He doesn’t need the Unstable Heavenly Domain for this. In fact, he doesn’t care about it at all. It holds no allure to him whatsoever. In his eyes, the Unstable Heavenly Domain was just a broken universe, one that’s begging to be put down.
This is why he doesn’t understand why it latched to him. Was it asking him to save it? Or was it because of something else?
Well, Cedric never really thought about it that much. He had been exploring it in his free time, and he’s not really in a hurry to search for answers. If the Unstable Heavenly Domain detached from him after some time, he wouldn’t have cared either.
Due to his success, Cedric prepared for another breakthrough.
He’s going to reach the late stage of the Universe Master Realm from the mid-stage.
Actually, he could’ve done this way earlier. In fact, with his foundations—having reached the Heavenly Law level—he could’ve gone straight to the Heavenly Venerate Realm.
It would’ve destabilized his foundation, but at least he’d be way stronger than he is now. He would then spend time in seclusion to fix his foundations afterwards, and everything would be right again.
But Cedric didn’t do that. He didn’t like the sound of it.
He wasn’t that anxious or pressed for time. Besides, although he could restabilize his foundations after doing that, it’ll never be quite the same. Moreover, charging headfirst to breakthroughs like that poses a greater risk to his life; it’s an unnecessary gamble.
Why risk it when there’s a paved road leading him there? So what if it takes a little bit longer? At least it’s safe.
That’s why Cedric relied on natural progression instead of charging straight at it.
Actually, aside from being patient, Cedric literally doesn’t have to do anything else. At the current state of his body, just by existing alone he’s growing stronger.
He breathes in origin energy at each breath and completely refines it as he exhales. So, he cultivates just by breathing.
Sometimes, he’d munch on resources when he feels like it, but the benefits he gets from them aren’t really that much, so it doesn’t make a huge difference.
And since he already had a Heavenly Law under his control, he’s more than ready to continue his progress. It’s just his choice to take the long but stable road instead.
So, while he’s waiting for his body to naturally breakthrough, he spent most of his time bringing his other concept laws to the Heavenly Law level as well. And just recently, he managed to do this for both his Sword and Fire Laws.
As he is, Cedric could defeat most Heavenly Venerates. If he couldn’t, he could always escape using his Space Laws.
It’s already exceedingly rare to see Heavenly Venerates around. Even more so Heavenly Venerates who comprehended Space Laws to the Heavenly Law level.
A Universe Master like Cedric, who comprehended the concept of law even Heavenly Venerates couldn’t, was practically one of a kind. And with this ability alone, he could walk sideways anywhere within the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm, and he’d be just fine.
And with both of his Fire Laws and Sword Laws reaching the same level? Even if he were to pick a fight with more than one Heavenly Venerate, he’d survive.
The breakthrough went on without any hitch or unexpected developments.
It took a whole year from start to finish, including the consolidation period.
Actually, all things considered, nobody could even say that Cedric was taking the long road instead.
He came into the Rising Sun Domain and became its Sector Lord as an early-stage Universe Master Realm expert. He then spent only a little bit over 200 years to reach the late-stage Universe Master Realm.
And this is on top of his responsibilities as a sector lord being met beyond anybody’s expectations, mind you.
Who the hell would call this slow?
Others would usually spend at least thousands of years to make the same progress as he has, and they’re already called talented, geniuses, or gifted.
If that’s the case, what do they call him?
It’s crazy to think that he could’ve gone faster. That this was him picking the slower option.
But since this was Cedric we’re talking about, nobody would know about this if he could help it.
He does not seek fame or attention. What he wants is peace, stability, and security.
And even with his rocket-like speed of cultivation, for him, his current strength level was far from enough.
He knows what’s out there and the type of enemy that’s waiting and eager to pounce.
Knowing this, Cedric can’t relax just yet.
