Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World

Chapter 461: Gaze of A Primordial and Primordial Body

  • Next Chapter

Sylvia opened her eyes as the chaos rolled away from her body. She could still feel her arms and legs, but looking down revealed stars moving through them.

Great clouds of light spread beneath her skin and gathered into galaxies. When she lifted her hand, those galaxies moved with it as though they had always been part of her.

Her white hair drifted around her shoulders and stretched into the distance. She followed it with her gaze until she realized it extended farther than the universe they had just left.

"Is all of that really me?"

She reached toward a strand and watched it slide between her fingers. It felt as familiar as ever despite being large enough to cover the home she had once thought endless.

A clear sound rang through her mind as words appeared before her.

[Ding! You have become a Primordial.]

[Your authority over Death has reached the Primordial level.]

Sylvia felt that authority settle into her new body. The power she had carried as an Ender now reached far beyond the worlds where she had first awakened it.

Then another readout appeared and the words Power Index disappeared from it. Their replacement was so simple that she read it twice.

[Power: 1.]

After everything she had just experienced, her power was being shown as one?

She almost laughed until she felt how much strength rested in her raised hand. She could destroy an entire world with it and still have more power than she had ever held before.

This number belonged to a scale she had never reached. Comparing it to her old Power Index would have been like measuring the universe with the ruler she used as a child.

[Ding! You have a powerful gaze. Your gaze can instantly turn someone into a Lesser God.]

[You have gained the power to traverse infinity and go through the currents of the multiverse.]

Sylvia instinctively covered one eye as her vision spread beyond the universe ahead. Even with the other eye open she could see distant worlds and the currents flowing between them.

So much information reached her that she stopped trying to examine everything at once. She drew her attention back to the words and realized this wasn’t the system panel she knew.

There was no familiar connection to the Origin Network. The words seemed to come from somewhere beyond the worlds she could now see.

Yet she understood their source without needing anyone to explain it. They came from the Akashic Records that held the information of infinite realities.

Sylvia let the notifications fade while keeping her gaze under control. She had no intention of looking back toward Earth and handing out godhood by accident.

The thought of Caelus finding out made her smile. He had worked so hard to reduce the Faith Power cost and now she could make someone a Lesser God by looking at them.

She would enjoy telling him that when he woke up.

A faint movement near her hand caught her attention and she found the Hollow King watching from a distance. Compared to her new body he looked no larger than an atom.

Sylvia could still see him clearly, but speaking to him like this felt ridiculous. She focused on the shape she knew and drew her enormous body inward.

The galaxies beneath her skin disappeared as her arms returned to their familiar size. Her hair followed until she was floating in front of him as the same-looking woman who had entered Earth beside him.

Only her eyes were different. It had turned from red to blue. Their dark blue color held two bright star-like symbols that she could see reflected in the light around them.

Sylvia swiftly drew their power inward until the symbols faded. Those eyes belonged to a Primordial and she could already tell that granting godhood was only one of their uses.

Her body had changed just as much, though she would have to explore it properly later. For now she was glad she could face someone without instantly killing them.

"I thought I might have to settle for becoming a Half-Primordial."

"So did I." The Hollow King studied her with an expression she had never seen on him which was none other than shock.

"What happened to you exceeded my expectations. Perhaps your authority as the Ender of Death helped you gain the acknowledgment. But if this was possible, I should also be able to become a primordial but I failed."

"I don’t know either, so I can’t give you an answer yet."

She could feel how much stronger she had become even while keeping her power contained. The man who had carried her between worlds no longer seemed beyond her reach.

That realization brought her thoughts back to the reason she had wanted these remains. Caelus was still out there somewhere and she finally had the strength to stay beside him.

"I’m going to find my hubby and protect him while he finishes transforming."

The Hollow King nodded and moved aside. Sylvia turned toward the endless currents she could sense beyond him and stepped into one.

WHOOSH!

Chaos streamed past her as she crossed a distance she would once have needed his help to travel. More universes appeared beyond it while the current carried her farther into infinity.

She searched as she moved and gradually picked out a presence she knew better than her own. Following it brought her away from the distant universes and toward a cocoon surrounded by rushing power.

Sylvia slowed as soon as she saw it. Through its surface she could sense Caelus changing and a small smile appeared on her face.

"There you are, hubby."

She stayed beside it long enough to make sure her presence hadn’t disturbed him. Then she let her body expand again and reached around the cocoon as stars spread through her arms.

Her white hair drifted through the chaos while she gently cupped him in her hands. She left room for the power flowing toward him and kept her own strength away from its surface.

For a while she simply watched the light moving inside. After everything that had happened since they were separated, being able to hold him again was enough to make her smile widen.

"I will keep you safe, hubby."

As her words faded into the chaos, the cocoon began to stir between her hands.
