Chapter 446: Magic World and Return Of The Mage Talent

  • Next Chapter

[Ding! Your rank has changed to Demigod Rank.]

[Ding! The Mage Talent from your Abyss Template is reacting.]

[Ding! You have regained Divine Calculation.]

[Divine Calculation has merged with your Mage Talent.]

[Your current rank allows you to cast all your spells instantly.]

Caelus felt his thoughts separate into several clear streams. Divine Calculation had once allowed him to handle sixty tasks at the same time, and that familiar ease was returning.

Then more notifications appeared across his system panel.

[Spell regained: Jirasad.]

[Spell regained: Iris.]

[Spell regained: Refla.]

[Spell regained: Tecta.]

[Spell regained: Xera.]

[Spell regained: Ferra.]

[Spell regained: Volcra.]

"What the fuck? My spells are back?"

He checked the list again to make sure he had read it properly. These were the spells he had used back in the Abyss.

He still remembered what each one did. Jirasad mixed poison with lightning, while Iris formed a anti-magic barrier.

Refla released white-hot fire and Tecta struck with lightning that shook the ground. Xera could pierce a barrier with a beam of light or become a shield that absorbed an attack.

Ferra sent out swords made of magic like his star king talent skill. Then there was Volcra, which combined Plasma Nuke and Holy Disintegration into a spell that could blast a target apart and destroy what remained.

He had missed that one in particular, and a smile spread across his face as he felt it return. Sylvia noticed the light gathering around his fingers.

"You look pleased with yourself. Did something good happen?"

"I got my old spells back. Even Volcra."

"Oh? That is good, Hubby." Sylvia replied cheerfully.

Caelus smiled at her, though the return of his spells raised another question. Could they have come from this universe in the first place?

He had lost access to them outside the Abyss and regained them here. It was only a possibility, but he had no better explanation yet.

A silver vessel approached through the darkness, followed by several smaller ships. Rings covered in glowing symbols turned around its hull while rows of weapons shifted toward them.

"Remain where you are. Identify yourselves and explain why you have no Magus Federation Imprint."

The voice came from the leading ship. Caelus examined the vessel and sensed power on the level of an Origin Lord running through it.

"What’s a Magus Federation Imprint?"

The weapons finished turning toward them as lights appeared along their barrels.

"You entered Federation space without an imprint? Are you outsiders?"

"We just arrived. I don’t want trouble, so take us to your king or whoever is in charge."

A man in a silver coat emerged from the ship with a staff in his hand. Several others followed from the nearby vessels and spread out around Caelus and Sylvia.

Their power was also around the Origin Lord level. A world of mages with ships this advanced was worth learning about, assuming anyone stopped threatening him long enough to explain it.

The man raised his staff toward them.

"You will surrender for examination. Your possessions and abilities will be seized until we determine your value to the Federation."

"Our value?" Sylvia asked while frowning. "We aren’t things you’ve picked up to sell."

"Unregistered outsiders have no right to refuse."

Caelus looked from the staff to the weapons surrounding them.

"You’re really going to arrest us for arriving?"

The captain lowered his staff and every mage attacked at once. Chains of light crossed between their hands while the ships released beams through the gaps.

BOOM!

The attacks struck Caelus and Sylvia from all sides. He felt heat pass over his Divine Body, but there was nothing strong enough to injure either of them.

Sylvia brushed a fading spark from his shoulder as the light cleared. Around them the mages struggled to hold their spells in place.

"How did you all get this strong?" Caelus asked. "Do you have a game world here?"

The captain’s face went pale when his chains slipped apart against Caelus’s arm.

"He’s a Demigod! Our spells can’t hurt him!"

"Then call for support and eliminate him!"

Caelus stared at the man who had said that. They had just discovered their attacks were useless and somehow decided more fighting was the answer.

"You know I’m the one with the upper hand here, right?"

As soon as he said that, a golden streak crossed the distant stars and a heavy pressure fell over the fleet. The mages immediately pulled back toward their ships.

"Lord Veyran has arrived!"

"Those outsiders are finished. He’s never failed to defend this sector!"

The streak sharpened into a spinning golden lance with a man at its center.

"Intruders, stay where you are and die!"

Caelus moved Sylvia aside and raised his hand toward the incoming attack.

[Spell Activated: Xera.]

A beam shot forward and opened into a shield. The golden lance struck its center and forced Caelus backward as the shield filled with light.

This one was far stronger than the patrol. Caelus released the shield to the side as it broke apart, sending the trapped light bursting into empty space.

[Mystic Code Activated: Origin Lightning.]

Lightning crashed against the lance and tore away its outer layers. A tall man in golden armor emerged from the blast with a long spear aimed at Caelus’s chest.

Caelus caught the shaft, but the force drove him back through a field of drifting rocks. Sylvia followed above the attack and sent a surge of wind across Veyran’s spear.

That shift gave Caelus enough room to push the weapon aside. He kicked Veyran away and began his full dragon transformation.

[Power Index: 78 → 178.]

His mastered half-dragon form had already made seventy-eight his normal Power Index. The full transformation added another hundred as his body grew far beyond the size he had expected.

The fleet dwindled beneath him until its lights were almost impossible to see. When the change finally stopped, his dragon body stretched across a distance as vast as a galaxy.

Caelus barely moved while he tried to understand what had happened. Even Sylvia had stopped beside him without saying anything.

He could sense weak beings on a distant planet, including someone whose strength was only around Rookie Rank. There was no divide like the one between their Tier 1 and Tier 2 Worlds.

Perhaps this universe was less stable than the Tier 2 World. His power had far more room to show itself here, although he had not expected quite this much room.

Sylvia looked along the endless stretch of scales.

She was honestly speechless.

Below them, the fleet began fleeing as Veyran raised his spear once more.
