Endless Evolution: Last Star

Chapter 1565: Bloody Heart

Chapter 1565: Bloody Heart

Silvana bit her lip until it bled. She was sure that her previous plan would end their battle. Like Alexia, she was ready to rejoice when twenty imaginary blades pierced Vaarh’s body.

But now, everything had changed.

It seemed that Vaarh was invincible, and worst of all, she had no answer for Adam. She had no solution.

"I don’t know, Adam. All I can do is give you all my energy and activate the Stellar Resonance. Your only chance to win is to fulfill one of the three conditions for the Third Grand Star. Perhaps if you, like Alexia, gain a new ability, it will become your trump card."

Adam nodded slightly as he rushed into battle. He didn’t waste any time.

The four-pointed star shone brightly in his left eye as he became significantly faster. He leapt from one side to the other in an attempt to confuse Vaarh, but this plan was doomed to failure.

Whoooooosh.

The imaginary blade crashed into Vaarh as he stepped aside. The wide blade swept past his chest as his knee slammed into Adam’s wrist.

"Enough of this nonsense!" Vaarh exclaimed, knocking the imaginary blade out of Adam’s grasp.

Adam tried to catch the blade, but Vaarh was faster.

Electricity gathered at his fingertips as white lightning shot into the imaginary blade, shattering it into fragments.

Adam had enough energy to create a few more imaginary blades, but that was his limit, and only thanks to Silvana’s energy and Stellar Resonance.

If he wanted to win, he had to be pragmatic. He couldn’t waste his remaining energy on a few imaginary blades that Vaarh would destroy with a few electric discharges.

So Adam jumped back, preparing to summon his needle.

But something made him stop.

"What? Running after your weapon?"

Vaarh’s powerful voice boomed as he stepped forward. His eyes grew deeper, and the azure eye began to rotate like a giant whirlwind.

"Didn’t you come here to win and become stronger?"

Clutch. Clutch.

Vaarh clenched his fists, his muscles tensing like steel cables, and even the scales on his wrists that were meant to protect him cracked under the pressure.

"You came to the Primal Lands, and your opponent is a dragon! Fight like a warrior, Adam!"

Strangely enough, Adam answered his call.

The needle did not appear in his hand, but his right eye turned green.

Now, Adam was in as pure a battle form as possible in his situation.

"Alright, great dragon..." Cold steam came out with his breath. "Let’s see which one of us reaches the limit faster!"

Their frames shook simultaneously as they disappeared from their places.

BAM!

Their fists collided in the center of the battlefield, causing a shockwave. Each of them put all their strength into this punch, testing its strength.

’He’s strong...’ Vaarh clenched his teeth. ’But, unlike him, there are no secrets for me in our fight!’

Without even looking to the right, Vaarh saw Adam’s foot rushing towards him. The azure eye saw everything, so before Adam’s foot could reach its target, Vaarh blocked it with his palm, just as he had done with Alexia.

A smirk quickly appeared on Vaarh’s face, but his expression changed drastically soon after.

The energy flow ran through Adam’s foot, giving it a new burst of power and speed like a rocket that had flown out of the atmosphere into space and needed acceleration.

Vaarh’s eyes widened as Adam’s foot slammed straight into his ribs.

The impact threw him sideways, revealing several wounds from blades as blood immediately gushed from multiple locations.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

Vaarh’s back hit the ground several times before he came to a stop next to the ice peak and the frightened monster.

The monsters still surrounded them, but were too scared to approach.

"What the hell was that..." Vaarh croaked, struggling to his feet.

Adam slowly put his foot on the ground, streams of hot steam emanating from his foot.

’Even if he can see all my movements, that doesn’t mean he’s invulnerable. It’s unlikely that I can be so much faster than him that he won’t even have time to react with the azure eye, but...’

His eyes narrowed.

’What difference does it make whether he reacts to the attack or not if he doesn’t know what kind of attack it is? He was preparing for a simple kick, but received a strike filled with energy. In that case, the azure eye even hurts him.’

Thump.

Vaarh tried to get to his feet, but he collapsed to his knees. Unlike Alexia, who had a broken leg, his situation was better, but he didn’t have enough strength for that.

"I need energy... I need strength if I want to continue..." Vaarh whispered as his gaze fell on the gray beast next to him.

The beast realized everything in a heartbeat, as its pupils, filled with fear, narrowed, and it jerked sharply to the side.

Summoning all his strength, Vaarh lunged forward, darting into the shadows to the right of the beast.

Clutch.

With his iron grip, he grabbed the beast by the head and tore it off with a sharp movement, tearing flesh and breaking its bones.

The beast didn’t even have time to understand what had happened as Vaarh’s palm dug into its chest, pulling out its still-beating heart with a sharp movement.

"What the..." Adam gasped. "He’s actually going to do—!"

Vaarh’s teeth sank into the monster’s heart, tearing off a large chunk like a wild beast before swallowing it.

"Gha." Vaarh sighed as a new wave of energy coursed through his body.

At the same moment, the beast’s heart in his hand trembled, while gray-crimson energy swirled around Vaarh’s wrist.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

The beast’s heart distorted as it quickly dried up to a completely depleted state. Seconds ago, it had been a fresh and juicy apple, but now it was nothing more than a completely dried-up peel, devoid of even a drop of sweet juice.

Vaarh tossed the beast’s heart aside, brushed his mouth of blood, and turned his gaze back to Adam.

"Shall we continue, human?"
