Endless Debt
Chapter 1494 - 61: Eliminating Evil at Its Root (Part 2)
In an instant, the vibration of the cargo ship intensified further. A series of mournful creaks resonated from the hull, which began to tilt as the deck lifted and shattered inch by inch. Several enormous dents appeared on the ship, as if struck by an invisible heavy punch.
The Night Race, still unclear about the situation, looked down towards the water, initially thinking there was a problem with the underground river. They soon realized that the entire cargo ship had been forcibly lifted from the river, suspended in mid-air.
Bologue clenched his fist, and the Power of Command tightly gripped the cargo ship. Without the buoyancy of the water, the hull, unable to support its own massive weight, kept cracking as though it would disintegrate the next second.
After a rumbling tremor, the entire cargo ship was smashed onto the dock, its heavy body scraping against the ground, sparking a dazzling array of fire, like an earthquake. The people inside were shaken into dizziness.
The Night Race struggled to stand up, having no time to sigh over Bologue’s violent deed because he was already striding towards them with a sword.
Despair.
Only despair remained in their hearts. Among them, the only High Tier Condenser was just a Negative Power User. If the cargo ship had successfully departed, they would have had a chance at survival, but now, facing the approaching Bologue, they had no hope left.
"Jo... Where is Jos!" a shocked Night Race member shouted, "Where did he go!"
Jos was their leader, the only Defender, who was supposed to carry out this mission personally, escorting this batch of The Imperfect back to the Rebellious Royal Court. Yet he suddenly disappeared, leaving only these people to handle the aftermath.
Scarlet gaze swept over faces filled with confusion. They too were unaware of Jos’s whereabouts, or even what happened in the Land of Secrets.
Though cooperating with the Land of Secrets, the Rebellious Royal Court remained cautious. Apart from exchanges of interests, there was little more contact... It was this alertness that made the Order Bureau only now discover the evil deeds of the All Secrets Order.
A howling wind came to his ears, making the Night Race aware of the impending danger, but it was too late.
"Watch out!"
He only had time to shout these words before a cold blade pierced through his chest, Ruinous Bite twisting and grinding his heart to pieces.
At that moment, the Night Race was not yet dead. He tried to pull out the Short Sword from his waist to counterattack, but soon discovered his body had become as rigid as death, unable to move.
The sound of trickling water echoed in his ears.
The Night Race was puzzled for a moment, then in horror realized that the sound was not coming from the underground river but from his own blood surging inside.
Bologue broke through the defense of the Rectangular Soul Critical, manipulating the Night Race’s blood through the wound caused by Ruinous Bite, directing all the blood to his head. Blood trickled out from the mouth, nose, and ears, like an overinflated balloon, under high pressure, causing the entire head to explode.
The headless corpse fell at Bologue’s feet, but the blood didn’t fall, swirling around him, condensing from liquid to solid, forming a scarlet chain connecting the weapon and his arm.
"Why are you still dazed? Attack!"
A Night Race member bellowed, breaking the stillness, taking the lead as a series of soul assaults targeted Bologue’s mind, causing a faint pain.
Realizing there was no retreat, other Night Race members also unleashed their Secret Energy, Ether converging here, reality burdened, on the brink of collapse.
Bologue inhaled deeply, savoring the scent of blood swirling around. Lowering Ruinous Bite, he raised the Vengeful Saw Axe, letting out his own battle roar towards all Night Race.
The sound was brief, not loud, but pierced deeply into every Night Race’s heart like a war horn, as if Secret Energy from the Void Spirit School influenced them all, igniting an inexplicable fervor within them.
Irrational killing intent grew and spread. They momentarily forgot the disparity in Tier and the dire situation, with only pure bloody combat left in their minds.
So the Night Race responded to Bologue’s roar, brandishing blades and swords, charging swiftly towards him, transforming this terrestrial ship into a dueling arena.
"That’s more like it..."
Bologue murmured softly, twirling Ruinous Bite into a few beautiful sword flowers before throwing it hard, piercing through a Night Race’s thigh.
The blood-forged chain pulled taut, and Bologue yanked forcefully, pulling the Night Race to himself as the Vengeful Saw Axe came down, like a Heavy Hammer, its interlocking teeth axe blade exploding his head.
Before the body even fell, sharp Blood Spears erupted from its back. Bologue kicked one spear, sending it spinning in the air, then in a flying kick, struck its end. The Blood Spear shot out like a projectile, ripping through another Night Race’s arm.
"Next!"
Amidst Bologue’s extremely arrogant shout, a spiraling wind surged like a drill bit, piercing through one side of the hull. A slightly disheveled figure ricocheted inside the cabin, only slowing down after crashing through countless layers of bulkheads.
Palmer suppressed his dizziness and nausea. Before his gaze could focus, invisible avian scouts had already surveyed the surrounding environment, making the cries of terror and wailing clear in his ears.
