Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife

Chapter 1554 - 1595: Calling Mommy

  • Next Chapter

Kyle Kinston saw his wife insisting, so he didn’t say anything more. "If anything happens, just call me."

"Okay." Mabel Quinn responded, then took her daughter’s hand and walked into the bathroom, ran warm water into the tub, and began undressing the little one.

When she saw the faint, tiny scars scattered across the little girl’s body, Mabel froze for a moment, then as if something had suddenly occurred to her, her eyes turned red.

These must all be injuries from that explosion. So many wounds—how did she ever get through that? Normally just an injection makes the little one cry that it hurts, let alone the injuries from an explosion.

For her to survive at all is a kind of miracle.

Mabel sniffed and started to bathe her daughter.

The little one was very obedient, doing whatever she was told. Looking at this daughter who seemed both familiar and strange, Mabel’s emotions surged. In the past, every time she bathed her daughter, the girl would chatter endlessly, constantly calling "Mommy, Mommy." Sometimes Mabel even found it annoying.

And now, she truly wished her daughter would "annoy" her more.

Just as she was about to wash her daughter’s hair, she lifted the fringe on the girl’s forehead—and suddenly froze. Under that thick fringe was an ugly scar, like a centipede. When she saw that scar, Mabel sharply drew in a breath. The scars on her daughter’s body already made her heart ache, but this one on her forehead made her feel as if she couldn’t even breathe.

At a glance, it was clear the wound hadn’t been treated properly, which was why it had healed into such a scar. And Amelia Foster had also said that at the Hospital, the examination showed there were blood clots in the girl’s head, caused by a blow to the head.

The tears Mabel had been holding back spilled over again at this moment, falling one by one onto the little girl’s face and body.

This was her daughter—whom she had always protected with such care, afraid she might fall, afraid she might feel pain. And yet now, she had suffered so many injuries.

The little one tilted her head up to look at Mabel, then lifted her wet little paw and suddenly reached toward Mabel’s still not very obvious rounded belly. "Mommy cries, baby will cry too... Mommy doesn’t cry, baby will cry too, Nannan doesn’t like Mommy and baby crying."

Clearly, the little one had listened to the conversation Kyle Kinston and Mabel had had in the room earlier, and had actually understood that there was a little baby in Mabel’s belly.

When Mabel heard her daughter call her "Mommy," she went completely still. That one word "Mommy" was like heavenly music.

It was just like back then, when her little girl had first learned to talk and could call her "Mommy," making her so excited she could hardly contain herself.

"Say it... say it again, say it again, okay?" Mabel choked out, her tears falling even more fiercely.

"Mommy don’t cry, baby don’t cry, Nannan doesn’t like Mommy and baby crying." the little one said again.

Mabel scrubbed at the tears on her face, laughing and crying as she said, "Okay, Mommy won’t cry, baby won’t cry either. Mommy and baby both love... Nannan. Nannan is Mommy’s most precious, precious daughter."

The little one immediately burst into happy laughter, and that radiant smile suddenly eased the tightness in Mabel’s heart. No matter what, her daughter was already by her side. What hardship could there be that she couldn’t get through now?
