Instead, it was Atlas Shaw who lifted his head, meeting the gaze of Jeremiah May. For this 12-year-old young man, even after coming to City F and hearing others mention some things about him, he never took much interest. But now, things were a bit different because this young man was by Ivy’s side, and he seemed to be treating Ivy quite well, which piqued Atlas’s curiosity.

At least according to the rumors Atlas had heard about this young master from the May Family, he was not the type who enjoyed playing with children.

"Young Master May, if I had known earlier that the little girl you were bringing today was Ivy, I would have come back sooner. That way, there wouldn’t have been any issues with the police here," Atlas Shaw said.

Jeremiah May let out a faint snort, "Whether she is Ivy or not is still uncertain." After all, everything was just Atlas Shaw’s one-sided statement for now.

Yet Atlas Shaw wasn’t annoyed, merely offering a slight smile, as he lowered his head to look at the little one in his arms. It might be uncertain for others, but to him, it was definitive!

Along the way, Atlas Shaw asked quite a bit about the little one’s time at the May Residence, and Jeremiah May casually mentioned a few things. However, he didn’t speak of Mireille Yowell bullying the little one, as such matters seemed insignificant to him.

It was when he heard Jeremiah May mention that there was a night when the little one convulsed all over and was sent to the hospital, that Atlas Shaw couldn’t help but furrow his brow.

What was the matter? Was it a consequence of previous injuries leading to this episode?

Yet Jeremiah May added that after that incident, the little one never experienced a similar episode again. So was it just a one-time occurrence?

During their conversation, they had already arrived at the entrance of the May Residence. Atlas Shaw, holding the little one, followed Jeremiah May inside to the main house.

The police were still in the main house conversing with Mr. May, waiting for Kyle Kinston and Mabel Quinn to arrive. However, it was Jeremiah May and the others who arrived first.

What surprised Mr. May was that Atlas Shaw came with his nephew, and from the way Atlas Shaw held the little one so skillfully, along with the little one’s arms wrapped around Atlas Shaw’s neck in an affectionate manner, he could tell that Atlas Shaw must be very familiar with this child.

After a momentary pause, Mr. May remembered seeing some gossip news earlier, suggesting that Atlas Shaw had good relations with both the Kinston Family and the Quinn Family.

Observing the interaction between Atlas Shaw and the little one now, was this child indeed the one called Harper Kinston?

Mr. May exchanged some polite words with Atlas Shaw, and shortly after that, Atlas Shaw met Amelia Foster.

The moment Amelia Foster saw the little one, her tears couldn’t be held back. More than the possibility of being accused of child trafficking, what she felt more profoundly was her reluctance to part.

Afterwards, she also learned from the police that the child’s biological mother wasn’t the woman she thought abandoned the child in the village, but someone else entirely.

And from the way the police spoke, the child’s parents were likely not ordinary people.

So once it was confirmed that the little one was indeed their child, her biological parents would take her away, leaving her... with a future life without this child.

The thought made her sad.

After seeing Amelia Foster, the little one jumped down from Atlas Shaw’s arms, walked up to her, and reached out a hand to wipe her tears, "Mama, bad, no cry, Atlas cry, mama also cry, shame, shame!"
