Chapter 1532 - 1573: Compensation

The little girl, talking as if offering a treasure, held up the fragments in her dirty little hands and said, "I’ve found a lot already..."

Jeremiah, in a sudden impulse, hugged the little girl into his arms, completely ignoring her dirty appearance and unpleasant smell, "I’m sorry."

These three words were rarely uttered from his mouth, yet this time, he said them to a mere five-year-old.

"Master?" The little girl was stunned, seemingly not understanding why the master would hug her and say sorry, "I’m dirty, don’t hug... don’t hug..."

But Jeremiah seemed not to hear, still holding onto this small body, his heart filled with unstoppable guilt.

Watching the master and her daughter piecing together the dirty poster fragments in the servant’s room, Amelia Foster felt a kind of incredulity.

When she discovered her daughter had disappeared, she rushed to find her, only to see her little girl, looking like a small dirty person, being held by the master. Then the master asked her to clean the girl up and even took the initiative to tidy up those poster fragments.

As she was taking her daughter to the servant’s room, the master followed them in. By the time she bathed her daughter and came out, the master was already at the desk piecing the poster fragments together.

Amelia Foster was suddenly at a loss for words.

It was the little girl who cheerfully went over to join the master in piecing together the fragments, both of them focused intently on the task.

As the poster became increasingly complete, the smile on the little girl’s face grew broader as well.

Standing by, Amelia watched in amazement. There was no denying Jeremiah’s efficiency; in no time, he had already pieced together two-thirds of it. Amelia estimated that it would take her several days to complete it herself.

"Master... Master is great..." the little girl happily cheered.

"Do you really like Atlas Shaw?" Jeremiah suddenly asked.

The little girl tilted her head as if she didn’t understand. Jeremiah paused, then seemed to react to something, and added, "Do you really like Atlas?" The little girl always called Atlas Shaw Atlas.

"Yes!" The little girl nodded heavily, making Jeremiah feel somewhat bothered. Um, a bit jealous...

"Then I’ll take you to meet Atlas," Jeremiah said. Because of the guilt in his heart, he made this decision, "When the time comes, we can ask him for a signed poster together, okay?"

Seeing Atlas Shaw might be difficult for others, but it wasn’t that hard for him. And getting a signed poster from Atlas Shaw for the little girl wouldn’t be difficult either. More importantly, if she could see Atlas Shaw in person and even take a photo with him, would she be a bit happier?

Perhaps it was because of the previous misunderstanding that his heart was filled with guilt. If he hadn’t thrown the poster fragments into the trash, she wouldn’t have been rummaging through it and gotten so dirty.

The little girl widened her eyes, seemingly digesting his words, while Amelia Foster was as surprised as could be, "Master, this..."
