Chapter 1464 - 1505: Adoption

Initially, she went back to her hometown and unexpectedly encountered this child. The villagers said the child was abandoned by her mother. It seemed the mother originally took the child to a clinic, and upon returning from the clinic, she abandoned her in the village. Someone once chatted with the mother, and heard her say that treating this child would cost a lot of money, and she was losing out on it. Thus, it was suspected the mother abandoned the child due to medical expenses.

"Mom, this sister is so pitiful. Can we take care of this sister?" Her son said at the time, and willingly stepped forward to hold the child’s hand without any disdain for her dirtiness.

And this little girl, blankly let the son grab her hand, suddenly blurted out, "Brother..."

The word "brother" made the middle-aged woman’s heart tremble, her eyes involuntarily moist. If her daughter hadn’t been lost, she would have called him "brother" too!

"Okay, we will raise her." At that time, she made this decision.

"I haven’t thought about remarrying. I’ll rely on myself to raise these two kids. Even if we have nothing else, we’ll have a meal to eat." She said.

She knew that by making this decision, many considered her foolish, saying her mind was clouded. Yet, she couldn’t leave this child behind.

When she took the little girl home and cleaned her up, she realized how beautiful the child was. If she weren’t foolish, just imagine how many would have adored her.

But the child’s silliness did respond somewhat to others’ words, albeit sluggishly. Both her comprehension and learning abilities were very weak, even speaking a complete sentence was difficult.

She brought the child to the County Town’s clinic for another check-up. They said the child’s brain had been impacted by a collision, leaving a clot that affected her. But to remove the clot would not only be costly, but there’s a risk that the child might die on the operating table. Moreover, such surgeries, even if performed, could only be done in a large city’s Hospital that has the capability. Of course, you could also wait and see if the clot gets absorbed naturally. If not, surgery could be considered when the child gets older.
