The little one reluctantly showed some progress, but in the end, she still complained a little, "Grandpa’s storytelling is even worse than Daddy’s. Mommy tells the best stories."

Edward Quinn suddenly felt as though he’d been punched in the chest. Could it be that he’s not as good as Kyle Kinston at telling stories? As a grandpa, he absolutely cannot lose!

Just as Edward was ready to redouble his efforts and tell another story to prove his storytelling skills, the little one yawned and said, "Grandpa, when are Daddy and Mommy coming back? Ivy misses them so much."

They’d only been apart for two days, and the little one already missed her parents.

"They’ll be back tomorrow," Edward said. His daughter had called earlier to inform him of their return time.

"Really? Then Ivy will get to see Daddy and Mommy tomorrow... Ivy wants to show them the homework that Grandpa and Ivy did together over these two days. Also, the teacher praised me today..." The little one mumbled, her eyes slowly closing, and soon she was asleep.

Edward looked at his granddaughter’s innocent, peaceful sleeping face and a smile flashed across his own. This little one was like an angel sent by God, so beautiful.

Sometimes, in this little one’s presence, he seemed to glimpse Clover’s shadow. She carried both his and Clover’s bloodline. If Clover knew they had such an adorable granddaughter, would she be happy?

Edward tucked the little one in snugly and sat at the bedside, lost in thought.

Meanwhile, Alessia Quinn stood at the window of her home, looking toward the Quinn Family estate, even though from this position, she couldn’t actually see it.

Once, everything of the Quinn Family was supposed to be hers, but now she was like a rat crossing the street, unable even to step outside.

The incident where she trapped Atlas Shaw, although in the end, her father went to great lengths to support her by hiring the best lawyer in J City, had only bought her probation.

But probation... just meant she was free and wouldn’t go to jail, yet anyone could tell from the ruling that the incident was her doing. So, the media branded her with the title of a scheming woman, openly stating that she was coveting the Quinn Family’s fortune and would stop at nothing to achieve her goals.

Wherever she went, she felt like people were pointing and whispering. Moreover, after the incident, her father moved out from the house shared by her and her mother and went to live with Thomas Quinn.

And all of this was caused by Mabel Quinn. If she couldn’t live well, she wanted Mabel to suffer immensely too.

"Alessia," Camille Grant walked up to her daughter and said, "It’s so late already. Stop staring out the window and go to bed."

"Mom, just wait and see the show tomorrow. I won’t let anyone off who owes me!" Alessia Qin laughed darkly.

Camille Grant’s heart suddenly tightened, "Alessia, what... what do you mean by that? You scared me!" These days, her daughter had been acting strangely. Camille thought Alessia was just in shock from the incident with Mabel Quinn, impacting her mentally, causing her to hide at home.

She had hoped that in time, her daughter would recover and perk up, but now it seemed that wasn’t the case. Her daughter’s entire demeanor seemed off, and Camille was suddenly very worried.
