Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife

Chapter 1448 - 1489: Farewell

  • Next Chapter

The day after the wedding, Mabel Quinn and Kyle Kinston accompanied Mr. Kang back to Falling City. They didn’t bring their daughter, Harper Kinston, as there were many things to handle in Falling City. Bringing the little one along would mean they wouldn’t have time to spend with her, so it was better to let her stay in City J and attend kindergarten peacefully.

The little one, knowing she would be separated from her parents for a few days, showed a strong reluctance to part.

"Mommy, can’t Ivy go with you?" the little one blinked her eyes and asked.

Mabel Quinn smiled, "Mommy and Daddy are going to Falling City this time with many things to do. Ivy would be bored there. Ivy can stay here in City J with Grandpa, and she can go to kindergarten every day. Aren’t there many children in kindergarten too? Mommy and Daddy will be back in two to three days, and we’ll video call Ivy every day."

The little one couldn’t help but pout, "Then no one will tell Ivy stories at night." The little one had the habit of listening to stories before falling asleep.

Mabel Quinn glanced at her father, then said to her daughter, "Grandpa will tell you stories."

"Grandpa will tell stories?" The little one looked at him with suspicion.

"He will," Mabel assured her.

Edward Quinn’s cheek twitched slightly. When did he ever tell stories? In his memory, he hadn’t told children any stories. But faced with his granddaughter’s suspicious yet hopeful eyes and his daughter’s pleading look, Edward Quinn took a deep breath, forced a smile, and said, "Yes, Grandpa will certainly tell stories." He planned to later go through the pile of storybooks in his daughter’s room to see what they contained.

Recalling his daughter’s childhood, he hadn’t told her bedtime stories often. Now, he was making up for it all with his granddaughter. At this moment, Edward Quinn’s feelings were quite complex.

Mabel Quinn and Kyle Kinston finally made their way back to Falling City on a private plane amidst their daughter’s not-so-sad eyes and their father’s extremely conflicted expression.

Once they arrived in Falling City, they, along with Mr. Kang, first went to visit Kyle’s parents’ graves for a memorial. They placed wedding candies and wine before the graves, and Kyle even turned on his phone to play the video clips of their wedding so his parents could see it.

Mr. Kang spoke quite a bit at the graveside, sharing joys, lamenting, and reminiscing. For Mr. Kang, there were indeed a lot of emotions to express.

Mabel Quinn looked at the photo of Kyle’s parents on the grave, held incense, and bowed three times deeply, silently thinking in her heart, "Rest assured, Kyle and I will be very happy. By next year’s Tomb-Sweeping Festival, we’ll bring both children to see you, and the Kinston Family will become more lively in the future."

This was also her promise.

The people in the photo still wore a slight smile, and for a moment, she felt as if Kyle’s parents had heard the words in her heart.

The Kinston Family was founded in Falling City, so naturally, Kyle’s wedding needed a banquet in Falling City as well. Although it wasn’t as grand as the wedding in City J, Mabel Quinn still attended in a formal dress with Kyle Kinston.
