Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1411 - 1451: Life-Linked Dependency
"Some things are the same, but others are different," Kyle Kinston said, "Do you want to go in and take a look?"
"Yes!" The little one nodded her head vigorously.
Mabel Quinn was startled. Kyle wanted to take their daughter inside? "But inside..."
"She’s a part of the Kinston Family. Sooner or later, she’ll need to see it." Kyle Kinston said, then looked at his daughter, "But inside, there are many ancestral tablets you saw at your grandfather’s house today, even more than at your grandfather’s. Will you be scared?"
The little one shook her head, "Not scared."
"Then let’s go inside." Kyle Kinston said, his gaze turning to Mabel Quinn.
Mabel pursed her lips, and finally held her daughter’s hand, walking towards the Ancestral Hall.
Just as Kyle had said, Ivy is a part of the Kinston Family, carrying the family’s blood. If she and Kyle don’t have a second child, then Ivy is destined to inherit the Kinston Family bloodline curse, likely within the next two or three years.
Mabel’s heart suddenly felt heavy.
She had seen what it was like when Kyle’s bloodline curse triggered. The struggle and pain made her heart tremble, and the thought of their daughter going through the same made her fear intensely.
The three of them entered the Ancestral Hall. The little one was unaware of her future fate. To her at this moment, the Ancestral Hall was just an adventure, satisfying her curiosity.
In the hall, there were still all those tablets, engraved with the names of the Kinston Family ancestors and their soulmates.
The little one looked with curious eyes but still bowed and offered incense with reverence. She could read now, though not much, but she was very familiar with the character "Kinston." Seeing some names on the tablets that didn’t bear the "Kinston" character, she curiously asked the reason.
"Because not every Kinston Family member can find their soulmate," Kyle Kinston explained to his daughter.
"Soulmate?" Katherine Quinn blinked her phoenix-like eyes, "What’s a soulmate?"
"A soulmate is the person you’re destined to rely on for your entire life. This person can make you happy or sad, fulfilled or disappointed," Kyle Kinston said, "just like your grandfather’s soulmate is Granny Taylor." He pointed to his parents’ tablets.
The little one listened, half-understanding, "Then is Daddy’s soulmate Mommy?" she cleverly deduced.
"Yes, my soulmate is your Mommy," Kyle Kinston smiled and replied.
"So is having a soulmate a good thing or not?" she asked in confusion, thinking Daddy’s description of happiness, sadness, fulfillment, and disappointment was quite contradictory and completely incomprehensible.
"If your soulmate likes you and loves you, then of course it’s a good thing," Kyle Kinston said.
"What if he doesn’t like Ivy?" the little one countered.
"Then just work hard to make him like Ivy; wouldn’t that solve it?" Kyle Kinston said.
But Katherine Quinn lowered her little head, as if in thought, and after a long while, she said, "If my soulmate doesn’t like me, then I won’t want him either."
She didn’t care for people who didn’t like her!
Mabel Quinn listened to her daughter’s words, a strange worry filling her heart.
But Kyle Kinston seemed to understand. Perhaps this was the inherent pride in the Kinston Family’s bones. If you don’t love me, then why should I bother loving you?
