Chapter 1358 - 1397: Unwilling to Give Up

It was Atlas Shaw!

Alessia Quinn was startled, then her eyes lit up. She’d heard the rumors in the crew before—that Atlas Shaw had gone head‑to‑head with the third female lead for Mabel Quinn’s sake, almost causing the actress to lose her role.

And because of this move from Atlas Shaw, the people in the crew who gossiped about Mabel Quinn had reduced a lot. Even if there was any gossip, it was whispered, done behind the scenes.

Could it be that there was something between Atlas Shaw and Mabel Quinn?

Alessia Quinn suddenly got excited and carefully followed after them.

At this moment, in the lounge, Mabel Quinn sat down on the sofa and let out a breath. At today’s opening ceremony, the reporters’ interest in her clearly far exceeded their interest in the drama. All sorts of personal questions kept pouring in, and all of them were about Kyle Kinston.

Even if she said "no comment," those reporters still kept throwing out more questions, so she could only use the excuse of going to the bathroom to escape.

But this level of hype should only be temporary. After a while, it should die down.

Suddenly, the door was lightly knocked twice. Mabel Quinn called out for them to come in. This lounge was booked by the production team; only people from the crew could come over here.

The door was pushed open and Atlas Shaw walked in. "Tired?"

"Yeah." Mabel Quinn nodded honestly.

"Are you really going to be with Kyle Kinston?" he asked. His expression looked casual, as if this was just small talk, but his eyes were extremely serious.

Mabel Quinn froze for a second, then nodded slightly behind her ear. "Mm."

"Even though he once left you battered all over, you still want to be with him?" he asked. He still remembered when he’d rescued her; even in a coma, she’d shed tears.

And when she woke up, aside from the change in her expression whenever she mentioned the child in her belly, most of the time she was silent, her whole person shrouded in a kind of pain and resolve.

No matter how she tried to hide it, he could feel that she had once been hurt very deeply.

And the one who hurt her—he only learned six years later—was actually Kyle Kinston.

"If I don’t even give it a try, I won’t be able to let it go," Mabel Quinn said. This time, the chance wasn’t just for Kyle Kinston; it was also for herself.

"Then can’t I say the same thing?" Atlas Shaw took two steps forward, bent down, and braced his hands on the armrests of Mabel Quinn’s chair. In an instant, his figure enveloped her, looking as if he had her locked in his arms.

Mabel Quinn was stunned for a moment and lifted her apricot eyes to look at the man in front of her.

Atlas Shaw’s lips curved into a smile. "If I don’t even try, I won’t be willing to give up either."

"How do you want to try? A hug? Or a kiss? If I were really going to have feelings for you, I would’ve had them long ago," Mabel Quinn said.

"You really are straightforward!" Atlas Shaw said. If it were any other woman, she’d probably already be dizzy from this, but she could still look at his face and reject him so calmly.

"Because you’re different," she said. To her, he was her benefactor—the one who had saved her and her daughter, and who had helped her for six years. So she didn’t want him to misunderstand anything, nor did she want him to get hurt.

"You really don’t feel anything for me at all?" His face moved closer to hers. The distance between them seemed to be only a hair’s breadth. If he leaned in just a little more, their lips would touch.
