Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife

Chapter 1348 - 1387: Her Gaze

  • Next Chapter

The dark environment actually made Mabel Quinn relax a little. As weariness slowly swept over her, she gently closed her eyes.

Kyle Kinston sat by the bed. His night vision was inherently strong, and even though the room was quite dark, as long as there was a little bit of light, he could still see her clearly.

She fell asleep; her closed eyes and the gradually even breathing all silently testified to the fact that she was asleep.

And he could only sit beside her, holding her hand, quietly watching her.

Could she ever accept him again in this lifetime? He could have had happiness in his life, but he had worn it away himself.

Now, the distance between them was so close, yet he dared not take a single step beyond it. Even though she was asleep and utterly defenseless, he did not dare, fearing it would provoke her disgust.

But his longing for her was growing stronger, her warmth spreading through the touch of their fingers, continually transmitting to him, making his desire accumulate even more.

Kyle Kinston suppressed the impulse to embrace her, to possess her.

"Mabel, I wish... you could love me again," Kyle murmured, his greatest plea.

The icy seawater, piercing pain, and coldness brought the fear of death.

Her nose, ears, mouth... were filled with the bitter, salty seawater... No, she couldn’t die... She had to live... Not only for herself, but also for the unborn little life inside her!

She... must live no matter what...

But the feeling of suffocation and pain in the seawater was growing more intense...

"Ah!" Mabel suddenly opened her eyes and sprang up from the bed.

"What’s wrong?" The sudden voice rang in her ear, causing her to shrink back like a startled bird.

The next moment, the bedside lamp turned on. Kyle Kinston saw Mabel Quinn with a pale face, and a layer of thin sweat on her forehead. She looked startled.

"Did you have a nightmare?" Kyle asked, pulling out a tissue, intending to wipe the sweat off her forehead.

Mabel instinctively recoiled, and the way she looked at Kyle... caused his body to stiffen abruptly, the tissue in his hand becoming as heavy as a thousand pounds, almost slipping from his grasp.

At that moment, her gaze at him was just like six years ago when she decided to leave him. It looked calm, but beneath it seemed to be suppressing too much pain.

But back then, he ignored the pain in her eyes, naively thinking it would pass with time.

Under the light, Kyle Kinston’s face grew paler than Mabel Quinn’s.

After a brief moment of disorientation, Mabel snapped back to her senses. The person before her was not Kyle Kinston from six years ago; six years had passed between them.

And today, she had the dream of falling into the sea again. Except for the few months right after she was rescued when she often dreamt of that moment, after seeing a psychologist, the situation improved, and she gradually stopped having such dreams.

Yet unexpectedly, today she dreamed of it again.
