Earth's Greatest Magus
Chapter 3054: New Power
Cosmic Palace — Stellar Beast Palace
A day later, Emery stood inside the Stellar Beast Palace with his mind still turning over everything that had happened during the bloodline breakthrough.
"Let me see it."
Celestial Cloud was already waiting for him.
The Supreme stood at the center of the vast training hall, his tall draconic frame covered in emerald scales that caught the ambient starlight with every movement. Two thick, curved horns swept backward from his brow, while his ancient eyes remained fixed on Emery with the calm scrutiny.
Emery took a slow breath.
Then he released his bloodline in full.
Twilight Transformation.
The familiar transformation settled over his body almost instantly. Fangs extended from his mouth, faint wolf-shaped ears emerged through his hair, and his eyes sharpened into those of a predator. Silver fur spread across portions of his body, while the familiar rune tattoos running along his arms, neck, and forehead began to glow.
Except they were no longer green.
They had turn gold.
The change wasn’t merely cosmetic. Emery could feel the difference throughout his entire body. The silver fur was thinner than before, refined and concentrated rather than simply covering more of his flesh, while the golden runes carried a far denser power. Even the aura surrounding him felt heavier, as though his bloodline had shed some of its previous limitations.
Celestial Cloud’s expression remained calm.
"Go."
Emery didn’t hesitate.
The instant he moved, the floor beneath his feet cracked.
His body crossed the distance between them in a blur, his newly strengthened physique pouring every ounce of explosive power into a single punch aimed directly at Celestial Cloud’s chest.
The Supreme raised one arm.
BOOM!
The impact exploded through the hall.
Emery’s fist stopped against Celestial Cloud’s forearm, but the force still traveled through the Supreme’s body. His tall frame rocked slightly, and for the first time, genuine surprise flickered across his ancient face.
His foot slid backward.
Half a step.
Emery’s eyes brightened.
He pressed forward immediately.
Another punch.
Then another.
Then three more in rapid succession.
His fists became streaks of silver and gold, each strike carrying considerably more physical force than before. Celestial Cloud caught, redirected, and deflected every attack with effortless precision, but his expression had become increasingly focused as he evaluated the changes in Emery’s body.
"Not enough."
His voice remained calm.
"Show me all of it."
Emery’s eyes narrowed.
He stopped holding back.
Khaos energy erupted from within him.
Dark smokes surged through his limbs as he unlocked more of his Primal Transformation, and both forearms rapidly expanded beneath a layer of dense black fur. His muscles thickened, claws extended from his fingers, and the savage strength of the Primal bloodline surged through his body.
Then Twilight and Primal collided.
Instead of resisting each other, the two transformations fused.
Silver and black energy twisted together around Emery’s body as his golden runes flared violently. His aura surged outward, carrying both the refined power of the Fey bloodline and the savage force of his primal nature.
The next instant, his fist slammed into Celestial Cloud’s guard.
BOOOOM!
The Supreme was driven backward.
One step.
Then another.
Two full steps.
The shockwave rolled across the Stellar Beast Palace, forcing the surrounding formations to activate automatically as countless defensive runes flashed into existence along the walls.
Celestial Cloud looked down at his arm.
Then back at Emery.
A faint smile appeared.
"Very good."
Celestial Cloud gave a faint approving nod before finally raising his other arm and abandoning his relaxed defense.
He began to counter.
Emery was forced to move constantly, slipping past claws, blocking heavy strikes, and answering each attack with his own.
For several minutes, neither gave the other a clear opening.
Eventually, however, Emery began to lose ground.
His physical strength had improved dramatically, but it was still proving insufficient against a Supreme.
So Emery revealed more of his strength.
Killgragah and Daurgototh appeared behind him simultaneously.
The two Khaos Guardians unleashed their power at once, one flooding the hall with scorching flames while the other spread an overwhelming frost that froze the surrounding space. Fire and ice surged together, giving Emery two additional sources of pressure to coordinate with his own attacks.
Celestial Cloud’s eyes narrowed.
"So this is what you use against that old Nine?"
Emery immediately understood who he meant.
The old Nine.
The Nine Heaven Supreme.
Something in Celestial Cloud’s tone suggested a history between the two Supremes, but Emery had neither the opportunity nor the inclination to ask. Celestial Cloud was already moving again.
The battle continued.
Killgragah’s flames swept across one side of the hall while Daurgototh’s frost sealed the other, forcing Celestial Cloud to navigate between two opposing Laws while simultaneously dealing with Emery’s increasingly aggressive physical attacks.
Emery could maintain an even exchange against Celestial Cloud’s raw physical form. But he wasn’t arrogant enough to mistake that for actually matching a Supreme.
Celestial Cloud hadn’t reveal his real form.
Everything Emery had seen so far was still only the Supreme testing him.
Even so, Emery was satisfied.
The improvement was undeniable.
[Rank 8: Fey Sovereign]
The combination of his bloodline breakthrough and the Superior Gene Elixir had pushed Emery’s physical capabilities to an entirely new level, with his speed, strength, and stamina all increasing by roughly thirty percent.
His Twilight Transformation had evolved alongside the bloodline itself, allowing every aspect of his combat ability to rise with it, while his spiritual defenses remained as formidable as ever.
When Celestial Cloud tested him with a full blast of his signature cloud-flame, Emery managed to withstand it for a full minute before his skin began to blister.
The real revelation, though, had nothing to do with raw stats at all.
It came from the innate ability that had awakened alongside his new rank.
[Mark of Divinity]
A golden marking was now etched across his forehead. He still barely understood its function, but he could feel it working throughout the entire exchange—a new layer of sight opening up around him, allowing him to read the weave of spiritual energy itself.
He could sense the gathering charge behind Celestial Cloud’s palm, and see the way his flames coiled and spun. All of it made the Supreme’s actions easier to anticipate
Remarkable.
He knew there had to be far more this ability could do than he’d glimpsed so far. For now, though, the duel still demanded his full attention.
Several minutes later, thanks to this newfound sight, Emery finally spotted an opening.
It was only there for a fraction of a second.
Celestial Cloud’s spiritual energy shifted slightly before his next attack, the flow around his shoulder becoming momentarily uneven. To Emery’s newly enhanced perception, that tiny disruption stood out clearly.
There!
Emery’s eyes sharpened. Rather than retreating from the incoming attack, he stepped forward, twisting his body past the sweeping cloud-flame and driving his fist straight toward the opening.
BAMMMM!
The impact echoed through the chamber.
For a brief moment, everything went silent.
Celestial Cloud looked down at the spot where Emery’s fist had struck, a hint of amusement appearing in his eyes.
Emery, on the other hand, couldn’t hide his reaction. A wide, gleeful smile spread across his face.
He had finally done it.
For the first time ever, he managed to land a direct hit on a Supreme.
