Dungeon Miner Slave

DMS Chapter 249

One issue arose that they probably should have anticipated.

There were quite a few young people among his friends’ family members, and young people tended to congregate.

There were more than ten of them, and because of that, their parents and guardians needed to keep a close eye on them to make sure a sudden boom in babies did not occur.

That amused Flinx greatly.

He made sure to stay well away from that particular issue. It wasn’t his responsibility to monitor the behavior of the young adults, and if he was being honest, he really didn’t care about it.

Thankfully, there were enough adults to keep things under control, but Flinx thought that, sooner or later, accidents were bound to happen.

The compound was simply too large and filled with too much foliage. It would be easy for groups of young people to find secluded places to hide.

Some thought the best solution would be to use magical means to monitor the young people, but Flinx told them that he had plenty of things to do and wouldn’t have the time to handle something like that.

They then asked if he could spare any more summons to keep an eye on the young people.

Flinx told everyone that his summoning spots were already full. His friends who possessed the transmigration system were also aware of that.

He did not enlighten them about the fact that, with his Cleric Class having reached level eight, he had gained an additional eight summoning spots.

He thought that the need for something magical to monitor their family members would serve as additional motivation for his friends to level up as quickly as possible.

The next topic they wanted to discuss concerned the family members who might want to return to Earth.

Currently, there were none.

Everyone was still enamored with living in a magical city surrounded by magical things, especially the younger people among them.

Some were fans of fictional worlds such as Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, while others enjoyed games like Skyrim and Baldur’s Gate. They had already begun imagining themselves wielding magical powers.

Flinx had overheard some of them talking about how they needed wands or staves to cast spells, just like in Harry Potter.

Some of them became extremely excited when they saw Flinx’s owl familiars because they resembled giant versions of the white owls from the Harry Potter series.

They approached him to ask about Pip and whether familiars were always owls.

Flinx told them that a familiar’s form depended on what the caster wanted. He had chosen an owl because of its ability to fly silently.

They became even more fascinated when Flinx told them that Pip had become sentient and was now capable of casting spells whenever he summoned it using a high-level spell slot.

Flinx knew that some of his friends’ younger family members had already started pestering their older siblings about becoming wizards.

Currently, there were only two ways for them to obtain a class.

The first was through the Wish spell.

However, that method was troublesome because granting someone a class through Wish would put both the spell and the spell slot used on cooldown for quite some time.

At present, the Wish spell was being used to restore the youth of the older family members of his friends, and it would take a year before that process was completed.

The second option was to go to the Mage Guild and have their family members tested for arcane capabilities.

However, that option was probably only available to younger people.

They still had not tested their theory about receiving a class by delving into a dungeon. They planned to try it out the day after tomorrow.

The best solution they could think of was for everyone to level up as quickly as possible so they could eventually gain access to the Wish spell and use it to grant classes to their family members.

Alternatively, if they wanted to take the longer route, their family members could apply to become members of the Mage Guild.

That would require a considerable amount of money, though, which meant they needed to start delving into dungeons.

One of Flinx’s friends pointed out that once they started leveling again, it would become difficult for them to return to Earth.

If they did something like that, they would lose whatever progress they made.

When they had done it before, they had no choice because they wanted to reunite with their families.

Now that their family members were with them, losing their levels again was simply too great a price to pay.

After discussing the matter further, they decided that if any adult genuinely wanted to return to Earth, no one would stop them.

They would ask Flinx to return that person to Earth.

However, Flinx told them that this would be the last time he would grant such a favor.

They would provide their family members with whatever resources they could spare, but once someone returned to Earth, they would have to wait until Flinx’s friends reached the level required to learn the Plane Shift spell.

Only then could they return to Earth themselves and retrieve anyone who wanted to come back.

Thankfully, none of them currently had any desire to return to Earth.

Even the family members of his friends who had betrayed them showed no desire to go back.

As for punishment for the betrayal, Paul suggested that they simply forget about it.

No one had been harmed, and Earth could no longer reach them anyway.

After spending an entire day discussing so many issues, they finally concluded their meeting.

If another topic needed to be discussed, Paul or Mark would simply notify everyone through the chat system they were using, and they would gather in the meeting hall again.

Flinx was surprised that the chat system they were using had not been infiltrated by the government.

Samuel reasoned that it was because they had never invited any outsiders to join them.

Flinx, however, wondered why Paul’s use of funds to purchase access to the chat system had not been traced.

Everyone simply shrugged.

Some reasoned that even if the government had managed to infiltrate their chat system, it ultimately didn’t matter. They were in a place where they were beyond the reach of anything anyone on Earth could do.

They had learned that lesson the hard way when they were still dungeon-mining slaves.

They had prayed and hoped that someone from Earth would rescue them.

No one came.

After they exited the meeting hall, they saw many people simply walking around and admiring the beauty of the compound and the enchanting eleven towers scattered across the land.

Some had even purchased small boats and asked Pondy and Pondra to leisurely push them around the small lake.

Flinx suddenly realized that he had forgotten to ask his friends about putting edible fish in the pond.

He sent a message through the chat system so that Paul or Mark could take note of it and bring it up at their next meeting.

In the meantime, Flinx was simply glad that most of his responsibilities were finally taken care of.

There was, however, one topic they had not discussed.

Their revenge against the Torbal Slavers.

Flinx wasn’t the only one who no longer had any family members left.

There were three others in the same situation, and he knew that all three firmly believed that revenge was necessary.

They had already discussed it with him, and Flinx had agreed to join them once they had attained enough power to begin planning their revenge against the Torbal Slavers.

The four of them agreed that they would not force anyone else to join them.

It was understandable that people with families would not want to gamble with their lives.

Still, it would be a long time before they could carry out their revenge.

They would need to reach a very high level before they could even consider taking action, and doing so would probably take more than six to eight years.
