Dungeon Corpse Stacker: I Absorb Everything to Become Ominous Monarch
Chapter 162: The Japanese Consortium’s Hidden Vault
The rain over the Western Pacific fell in heavy, rhythmic sheets, drumming against the reinforced composite hull of the stealth transport cutter Aegis-Zero.
Forty miles off the southern tip of the Izu Peninsula, outside the international territorial radar arc of the Tokyo Maritime Safety Agency, the vessel sat low in the black water, its twin hydrojet propulsion channels idling at three knots.
Inside the glass-walled briefing bridge three decks below the main wheelhouse, a three-dimensional holographic map glowed with pale azure light.
The digital projection rendered the deep seabed surrounding Tokyo Bay, highlighting a massive, submerged concrete silo embedded three hundred feet beneath the industrial silt and gravel channels off the coast of Chiba.
Boss Victor stood before the holographic table, his image streamed live from the underground command center in District One.
He held a unlit cigar between his yellowed teeth, his thick fingers pointing a brass stylus toward the reinforced foundation rings of the submerged silo.
"Zurich was about paper currency and unrefined mineral blocks, Sovereign," Victor began, his rough voice rasping through the encrypted audio link. "The Swiss bankers kept their wealth in granite because they wanted to control the clearinghouses. But the Japanese Consortium operates on a completely different appetite."
Renan sat in a high-backed leather chair at the foot of the briefing table, his dark woolen coat open at his collar, his pale hands resting loosely over his knee.
Behind his right shoulder, Shadow Knight Arthur stood motionless, his silver-black pauldrons casting sharp reflections across the glass bulkhead.
Beside him, Sylas leaned against a structural steel pillar, wiping the salt spray from his void daggers with a dry velvet cloth.
"They store biomass," Renan noted, his violet eyes locking onto the submerged concrete silo.
"Exclusively biomass, Sovereign," Chief Quartermaster Miller chimed in, adjusting his wire-rimmed spectacles as he pulled up a series of classified autopsy reports stamped with the red chrysanthemum crest of the Japanese Hunter Cabinet. "Following the Pacific Rift Outbreaks five years ago, the Japanese government officially reported that all Tier-SS carcasses harvested from the sea gates were incinerated under international quarantine protocols."
Miller tapped the holographic table, expanding the architectural schematics of the Chiba silo.
"The public filings were fabricated," Miller explained, his voice tight with professional indignation. "Over the past sixty months, the Japanese Consortium secretly constructed the Tokyo Bay Deep-Water Reserve. They diverted over ninety percent of the organic remains harvested from the deep-sea trenches into this facility."
The holographic display zoomed inward, revealing an intricate multi-layered storage complex four hundred yards long and sixty feet high, constructed from specialized pressure-resistant titanium alloy plates.
"According to the intercepted shipping manifests extracted by Sylas in Paris," Victor continued, taking his cigar from his mouth, "the Chiba vault currently holds the complete skeletal remains, spinal marrow, and core sacs of seven Tier-SS Abyssal Sea-Drakes."
Sylas looked up from his daggers, his optical visor flaring with bright, approving argent light. "Seven Tier-SS drakes."
"Plus the preserved carcasses of ten thousand abyssal trench beasts, sea-drakes, and armored kraken specimens," Victor added, a dark, greedy chuckle rumbling in his chest. "The total organic mana density stored inside that single silo exceeds forty-two thousand units. It is the largest single concentration of monster biomass on the Asian continent."
Renan slowly stood up from his leather chair, walking to the edge of the holographic projector.
He reached out, his broad, pale palm hovering two inches above the glowing blue cylinder representing the submerged silo.
Through his skin, the twin-chambered core beneath his ribs beat in slow, heavy cycles, radiating twenty-two thousand three hundred units of core density through the cabin air.
"Why keep seven Tier-SS skeletons hidden under three hundred feet of mud, Victor?" Renan asked softly.
"Because the World Hunter Council imposes an eighty percent international tax on any Tier-SS biomass used for biological weapons research," Victor answered, tapping his stylus against the table. "The Japanese Consortium has been using those seven sea-drake skeletons to synthesize artificial marrow fluids for their private hunter enhancement program. If Geneva discovers the existence of this vault, the Cabinet faces total economic liquidation."
Miller stepped to the side of the table, holding a satellite telemetry tablet displaying the real-time security grid surrounding Tokyo Bay.
"The perimeter is heavily fortified, Sovereign," Miller reported, his tone turning grave. "The water entry channels are monitored by an array of sixty deep-water sonar sensors, twenty automated explosive minefields, and a high-frequency anti-biological barrier sustained by the Chiba naval station. Any organic entity larger than a sea turtle crossing the outer harbor line triggers an immediate depth-charge salvo."
Renan looked down at the glowing blueprint, a cold, analytical smile touching the corner of his lips.
"They built a fence in the water to catch fish, Miller," Renan said, his voice quiet as dropping iron.
"The sonar grid covers every square yard of the bay entrance, Sovereign," Miller cautioned. "If Aegis-Zero approaches within ten miles of the Chiba piers, the naval station will pick up our propeller cavitation."
Renan turned toward the wide reinforced glass observation window at the bow of the cutter.
Outside, the dark, turbulent waters of the Pacific Ocean crashed against the hull, casting white salt foam across the deck plates under the black night sky.
"We are not taking the cutter into the bay, Miller," Renan spoke, his dark woolen coat sweeping behind his boots as he walked toward the elevator shaft leading to the lower staging deck.
Arthur stepped into line two paces behind him, his gauntleted hand resting against his sword pommel. "We swim, Sovereign?"
"We do not swim, Arthur," Renan replied, stopping at the open elevator doors. "The water belongs to Thorne and the deep-sea constructs. We are going to walk along the seabed, beneath their minefields and beneath their sonar."
Victor’s holographic image grinned, snapping his brass lighter open with a crisp metallic clatter.
"And the seven sea-drake skeletons, Sovereign?" Victor asked, flicking the spark wheel to ignite a bright yellow flame. "What do we do with ten thousand carcasses three hundred feet under salt water?"
Renan looked back over his shoulder, his violet pupils flaring with cold, ruthless ambition as the second phase of his global heist locked its final coordinates.
"Tell Chief Miller to prepare three thousand empty shadow storage units in Sector Zero," Renan answered, his voice echoing through the steel lift shaft. "We are going to bring those seven drakes back to life."
The heavy iron lift doors slid shut with a dull, echoing thud, and Aegis-Zero doused its bow navigation lights, vanishing completely into the foggy black swells off the coast of Japan.
