"Kyra..."

The little Dragon made a tiny sound and Kael’s heart melted right that instant and it wasn’t just him, Eira instantly lost all control.

"Baby Brother!"

She exclaimed as she jumped in place, her little body shook with excitement. Others chuckled at her reaction, then they turned towards the little thing in front of them.

The newborn Dragon tried to climb out, his front half was out, but his back legs were still stuck inside the Egg. He pushed once, he failed.

Then he tried again.

Failed.

Pushed again.

Failed again.

Then he looked at Kael. His eyes should have carried that ancient power and authority his kind represented but right now—

Those eyes were only asking for help.

And Kael—

He covered his mouth with his hand, trying his best not to laugh.

He failed.

"Alright, alright."

A small laugh escaped his lips as he stepped forward and gently helped the newborn out of the Egg.

The moment his full body came out, the remaining shell turned into silver light and entered his body and only then did Kael finally see him properly.

He was about one meter tall, much smaller compared to Ferrakar, but to Kael, the little thing looked perfect. His body was covered in dark silver scales that looked smooth, almost like polished stone after rain. Golden lines ran across his body, glowing faintly with every breath.

His belly and the inner parts of his wings were a lighter silver. There were two horns on his head, but they were tiny and rounded at the ends, making the Dragon look more adorable than fierce.

His wings were still small, folded against his back like he did not know what to do with them yet, his tail was thick near the base but ended in a tiny spade-like tip that moved left and right slowly.

His claws were small, his legs looked a little too sturdy for his body, his head was slightly bigger than it should be and his golden eyes were absolutely adorable.

This was an Origin Adamant Dragon.

*Picture*

Kael’s Seventh Child.

A fearsome entity who could one day grow into a being who could singlehandedly protect a literal world—

And yet right now—

He was only wobbling on his four legs, staring at Kael as if he had no idea why standing was so difficult.

Kael crouched down, looking at the Dragon with eyes full of pure, gentle love, the newborn looked at him, then, slowly, he took one step forward.

His leg shook, but he held himself and took another step, then another, then—

Then he tripped.

Kael caught him before he fell, the little Dragon landed in his arms and looked up at him, Kael stared back at him and then—

The Dragon pressed his head against his chest.

And Kael—

His heart screamed.

He was SO adorable!

Kael’s hands tightened around the little Dragon, the newborn, as if sensing that, cuddled even deeper into his arms, finding Kael’s hold especially gentle and comforting.

Kael gently patted his body, the rest of his children moved near them, looking at their sibling. That made the newborn look at them, he looked at everyone.

At Eira, Nyrri, Vitaria, Imperia, then at Cirri and Igni.

The two Dragons looked at the third Dragon, the third Dragon stared, then—

"Bwaby brother..."

He copied Eira’s words as his eyes shone.

The two Dragons smiled.

"I am not a baby brother, I am your big brother."

Igni corrected maturely.

"And I am your sister!"

Cirri answered excitedly as she moved close to him.

The rest of the Bonds came closer as well, slowly introducing themselves. The newborn looked at them, learning everything they were saying very quickly.

His ancient, inherited Dragon knowledge still hadn’t kicked in, but his intelligence was still there.

Kael watched his children react with a smile, then finally, once the initial introductions were done—

"Alright, it’s time to leave."

Kael spoke with a calm look on his face.

The rest of the Bonds complained, but they understood. After all, it wasn’t just them the newborn was supposed to meet, someone else was waiting outside too.

Kael nodded at his children, thanking them for their understanding, they smiled.

Then, he opened the portal and—

He walked out.

...

Outside, Nerathis’s sky had changed.

It was still dark, but now thin silver-golden lines had spread all over it, pulsing gently as if the very world was welcoming something that was above its grade.

People raised their heads to watch, the ones who were still awake had all come out, the tribesmen whispered among themselves.

This wasn’t the first time it happened, but still—

It was a phenomenon they still did not understand.

Ferrakar and Lavinia were staring at the same phenomenon, Lavinia had this knowing smile on her face, Ferrakar looked at her but didn’t say anything.

Just then, the space around them moved, Kael’s portal opened and he walked out with the little thing in his arm.

The moment he appeared, the silver-golden lines in the sky pulsed once more and when the Steel Dragon looked at it—

He froze.

He felt it instantly.

That bloodline...

It was above his own.

And no, it was not just stronger, Igni’s blood was stronger than his, so was Cirri’s, but they were different.

They were not connected to him.

They were Dragons of another path, another origin, another ancient line. Their blood was greater, yes, but it did not stand directly above his.

Their blood did not make his own bow.

But...

This child was different.

This child’s bloodline was not merely stronger than his, it was... its source.

Its origin.

A higher bloodline from the same root.

Ferrakar’s golden eyes widened.

Kael noticed his reaction, for the first time since he met him, the ancient Dragon looked... truly shaken.

Then—

The Steel Dragon did something Kael couldn’t believe.

He...

He bowed.

The enormous Steel Dragon, the Guardian Beast that even the mighty Sky Army trembled against, the ancient being who had made a Demi God lower his head—

That ancient entity bowed.
