Doomsday Life Simulator System In A Zombie Apocalypse World Update Era
Chapter 460: Elas And The Elf World’s Debt Towards Zayne
Knowing Elas and the elf race’s predicament in this world, Zayne wasn’t stingy with the resources he gave them.
In terms of value, even if all the items they gave in the outer area were combined, they couldn’t even reach a fraction of what he gave. After all, those items that could lead to Aether rank were priceless, as it involved an extremely rare resource that could only exist once per world.
But for an Initial Divine rank powerhouse like Zayne who even possessed the Creation Sovereignty, those extremely valuable resources below his power rank were way too easy to create. It didn’t cost him anything to let Elas and the entire Elf World owe him a huge favor.
Of course, aside from being principled in this trade, Zayne’s reliance was also his power rank gap between them. Even if they were to make use of the items he gave them to fight him, they’d only be Aether rank at most.
Against World Class Mages, Zayne could easily use a magic spell above World Class Magic that could nullify any usage of magic spells below his power rank. In other words, Elas and the others weren’t a threat to him at all.
Of course, that couldn’t be said to the worlds that the Elf World had access to via the spatial gates. But for such worlds that he wasn’t aware of and had no plans of communicating with, Zayne could merely pretend that they didn’t exist.
’And besides, this might seem like a trade, but in reality, they’ve owed me a huge favor due to the value of their bargaining chips being way too low compared to what I had given them.’
’In other words, Elas and the entire elf race owed me a huge favor, which I can include as their debts in the Loan Shark’s Ledger.’
’If I want to, I can label it as a gift, and it wouldn’t incur any debts to them. But since I already gave them an amount that they didn’t deserve, I would be foolish to not take advantage of such a situation.’
’Anyway, if Elas and the others shamelessly accepted my offer that greatly exceeded what they traded to me in value, then they’d incur this debt. Although, even if they were to refuse, I would still find a way to persuade them to accept it.’
’Even the Terran Survivors, the people from my world, couldn’t escape being indebted to me, let alone these otherworld powerhouses whose strongest magic spell could destroy a moon.’
With these thoughts in mind, Zayne acted naturally, as if he were giving those resources out of generosity and magnanimity.
"Th-this!"
When Elas saw the resources stored within the magic storage pouch, he almost couldn’t contain his shock, causing him to drop the pouch.
However, a Magic Council Elder standing beside him had taken the initiative to catch it, knowing that the value of the items inside was definitely too high, as it could even cause their World’s Strongest to act like a country bumpkin who hadn’t seen these things.
Despite this, the Magic Council Elder dared not check the items inside it, fearing that he’d even make a much worse fool of himself. Instead, he carefully handed it back to Elas, which Elas received out of reflex.
Undoubtedly, Elas still hadn’t recovered from his shock, as he still held the magic storage pouch, his hands shaking and trembling.
To vent his shock, Elas blurted out, "This! The items inside are way too valuable! Even if I sold the entire elf race, our value isn’t even enough to pay a fraction of the items inside this pouch."
"Can we really have all of these?"
Regarding Elas’s question, Zayne merely nodded and replied nonchalantly, "Things I’ve given, I don’t expect to get them back."
"And besides, what’s valuable to you might be worthless to me. I’ve only shown off my power as a World Class Mage, but do you really think that’s truly how powerful I am?"
"I can be way stronger, and I only displayed this power since it’s only what you and the others can fathom. Even if I were to show off a much stronger power, you and the elf race are merely frogs at the bottom of the well, unable to comprehend the world that lies beyond it."
Although Zayne’s words sounded condescending, Elas believed that it was Zayne making things easier for him to accept, especially when these items that were valuable to him were framed as things that weren’t valuable to Zayne.
Despite this, Elas didn’t take it for granted as he swore, "I can’t speak for the entire elf race, as some of them might not follow my lead, but if you want me to do anything, please don’t hesitate to ask!"
"My abilities might be limited, but my character can’t be doubted. As long as it doesn’t involve killing my own kin and the like, even if you want me to invade other worlds or sacrifice my life, I’ll willingly do it."
Although Elas knew that his abilities were limited, he still had to show his stance.
With the resources given by Zayne, not only Elas, but even other talented mages within the elf race had a high probability of becoming a World Class Mage.
Elas estimated that if he were to become a World Class Mage, most of the problems caused by the Perpetual Darkness would be greatly alleviated, and the elf race would no longer be heading to an inevitable end.
With his vision as the World’s Strongest, not only he, but even the higher-ups among the elf race like the Magic Council Elders were well aware of the impending doom of the Elf World.
In the end, it was due to their lack of a powerhouse capable of going far in the Light Bearer Path.
In the same power rank, Light Bearers were the most suited for combating Dark Monsters and dealing with the Perpetual Darkness’s corruption.
Although a higher power rank was enough to deal with weaker Dark Monsters, even Elas found it difficult to deal with the Perpetual Darkness’s corruption.
