Chapter 2913: Chapter 103: He and Harrison Lucas Evacuate Alone

Relying on sound to locate the source, he had already locked onto the sniper rifle that had just fired a sneak shot at him and wounded Harrison Lucas.

The man was on the hillside, lying prone on a slope covered by dense forest.

Just right—the distance from that slope to where Ben Lucas was standing was exactly the maximum range of the assault rifle in his hands.

The man raised his gun, took aim, and in the brief gap while the other side finished a shot and was changing rounds, he put a bullet through the man’s head.

After dealing with the one who’d injured Harrison Lucas, the scarlet in Ben Lucas’s eyes receded a little, but when he lowered his head and saw Harrison Lucas’s special forces combat uniform dyed red with blood, the darkness in his black pupils was once again overlaid with scarlet.

"Major General, we have to move, their firepower’s too strong... if we don’t go now it’ll be too late." someone urged.

Ben Lucas of course wanted to round up every criminal present in one swoop right now, but the blood continuously pouring from Harrison Lucas’s shoulder reminded him that he had to get her to a hospital immediately.

He scooped Harrison Lucas up in his arms. "Immediate retreat."

"Got it, we’ll cover you..."

"Major General, you go first..."

Aside from another comrade who was helping a wounded man, the others all raised their guns and fired back, vowing to buy time for Ben Lucas and their teammates even at the cost of their lives.

Ben Lucas glanced at the men on the hillside and knew they’d prepared a slew of weapons and even sniper rifles, had long been lying in ambush here, and were most likely all coming for him.

He looked back at the comrades whose faces were slightly disheveled and knew that if he stayed with them, then today everyone would likely die here.

Ben Lucas handed Harrison Lucas in his arms to one of them. "Take Miss Lucas and the others back first. I’ll come back a little later and rendezvous with you."

Everyone: "Major General..."

Ben Lucas’s gaze turned razor sharp. "That’s an order."

He had to take a separate route alone, draw these people away, to keep his brother’s lives safe.

Ben Lucas carried enormous authority in the military zone. When he gave an order with a cold face, even if everyone was unwilling to carry it out, they dared not disobey a military order.

However, just as Ben Lucas was about to leave, his clothes were suddenly grabbed tight by a hand.

"Major General, I...I’m not leaving, I want to stay with you..." She couldn’t let the young master face this alone; she had to stay by his side.

Ben Lucas looked at the blood all over Harrison Lucas and deliberately spoke in a tone of disdain. "You can barely take care of yourself. If I bring you along you’ll only add to the trouble."

Harrison Lucas immediately took a deep breath, braced herself, pushed away the comrade supporting her, and stood in front of Ben Lucas. "I’m fine. That bullet just now was blocked by the bulletproof vest. I only suffered a bit of internal injury."

The bulletproof vest had a deep dent, making it impossible to tell whether the bullet had punched through and lodged in her flesh, or was embedded in the vest itself.

Harrison Lucas’s face had been pale just now, but she could now stand, seemingly really fine.

Ben Lucas frowned. "No. You’ve lost too much blood..."

Harrison Lucas: "The blood’s not mine, it’s someone else’s."

She was lying through her teeth.

Just as Ben Lucas was about to order someone to take her away, a rocket came screaming through the air.

Before he could issue the order, Harrison Lucas and Ben Lucas were blasted to one side, while the others dived to the opposite side.

"Jordan, let’s move... if we keep dragging this out, everyone’s going to die." Harrison Lucas grabbed Ben Lucas’s hand and whispered in his ear.

That one "Jordan" made Ben Lucas’s black pupils tremble deeply.

He didn’t have time to think and actually listened to Harrison Lucas. "You withdraw first. We’ll rendezvous at the Military Camp later."

As his words fell, the man scooped the slender Harrison Lucas into his arms, vaulted over a thick tree trunk, and disappeared from sight.
