Doctor Reborn as a Peasant Girl? Time to Get Rich
Chapter 110: New Book Guide (Free)_3
The eerie wind dissipated. She swiftly floated over to the young woman’s body and tried to enter it, but a surge of yin power forced her out.
’Seriously? Does my luck have to be this good? A Pure Yin Woman, of all things.’
’A Pure Yang woman encountering a Pure Yin Woman. We’re natural enemies.’
’No wonder the resistance is so strong!’
Dawn was approaching. If she couldn’t possess this body, her soul would be obliterated the moment the sun rose.
She couldn’t let her soul be destroyed. Her younger brother was still in Meng Jingshu’s hands. She absolutely could not die like this.
Gritting her teeth, she knew she had to risk it all. There was no other choice.
Feng Ge was left with only a fragment of her soul, and her Soul Power was failing. Possession was never easy, especially when her target was a Pure Yin Woman.
If she were to use the Rebirth Technique, there were only two possible outcomes.
Success meant she would be reborn.
Failure meant her soul would be obliterated.
For Feng Ge, there was only one path forward. There was no alternative.
The woman kneeling before the girl’s body, sobbing ceaselessly, suddenly fainted. When she awoke, it was the next morning.
Pale golden sunlight fell on the young woman’s half-damp clothes, and on the gentle rise and fall of her chest.
The woman stared, stunned. She rubbed her eyes vigorously and looked again at the young woman’s chest. Yes, it was rising and falling. She wasn’t seeing things.
The woman lunged forward, placing a trembling hand on the young woman’s wrist to check for a pulse.
The pulse was faint, but it was there. She was alive. She was still alive.
’How can this be? Last night, she wasn’t breathing. There was no heartbeat, no pulse... How?’
But her joy quickly outweighed her shock. She hurriedly hoisted the young woman onto her back, scrambled away from the riverbank, and returned to their village.
"Sister in law Gu, what happened to Feng?" a man carrying farm tools called out, seeing her jogging with the unconscious Feng Ke on her back.
Sister in law Gu masked her worry with a strained laugh. "The girl was just playing around and took a tumble. It’s nothing serious." She didn’t break her stride, and before the man could ask another question, she was already far down the path.
Back home, she shut the door and deftly changed Feng Ke into dry clothes. As she did, she noticed something strange: the left side of her body was feverishly hot, while the right side was ice-cold.
’What in the world is going on?’
Her eyes snapped open to see streams of sunlight pouring through the dilapidated roof.
’So, the heavens are fair after all!’
Feng Ge awoke at noon, three days later.
The midsummer sun was brutal, but to Feng Ge, it was wonderfully warm and precious.
’I can face the sun again!’
’I can breathe freely again!’
CLANG. The sound of a falling bowl shattered the room’s tranquility.
Feng Ge turned to see a woman frozen to the spot. It was the same one who had been sobbing by the river.
"Miss, you’re finally awake!" Sister in law Gu’s eyes reddened as tears of joy streamed down her face.
’Miss?’
Feng Ge raised an eyebrow. ’So they aren’t mother and daughter.’
"It was like I was in a long, long dream. Now that I’ve woken up, I can’t seem to remember much." Her face was pale and drawn, but the corners of her lips curved into a faint, meaningful smile.
Sister in law Gu was baffled. The girl before her was clearly Miss Ke, yet she felt... different.
Feng Ge said no more. She turned, walked to the doorway, and held out her hand as if to cup the sunlight. It felt warm, so comfortable.
Her gaze fell upon the grove of trees directly opposite the main door. Her eyes narrowed, the smile on her face fading slightly. "That’s a Hanlin grove."
She wasn’t asking Sister in law Gu; she was merely stating a fact.
Sister in law Gu nodded eagerly. "That’s right, it’s a Hanlin grove. We planted it when we first moved here. Your mother said you were sensitive to the heat, and that planting Hanlin here would keep it cool in the summer."
’Of course it wouldn’t be hot. Hanlin groves gather yin and cultivate malevolent energy. How could it possibly be hot?’
’And to plant it directly facing the main door... the intention was nothing short of sinister.’
’But in the end, it worked in my favor. If not for this grove, I probably wouldn’t have woken up at all.’
’The malevolent energy drawn by the Hanlin only harms the master of the house. And the master of this house is already dead; her name is no longer in the Yin Yang Book.’
’Now, the master of the house is Feng Ge. And I have never been afraid of such things.’
She had been watching over her Miss for days. She knew, with certainty, that this was the same person.
And yet, the Miss before her... didn’t seem like her Miss at all.
Her aura, her manner of speaking, her posture—it was as if she had become a completely different person.
On a midsummer night, the room that should have been sweltering was now unnaturally cold.
Even the cool mountain nights were never this cold.
Her closed eyes cracked open a sliver. In the dim light of the room, she could see things that shouldn’t have been there.
This was the first time in her life that Feng Ge could see these unclean things without using her Yin Yang Eye.
