Chapter 493: 493 | Off the Clock

One down. Two more peaks to go with Aurora, then Addison and her dungeon fantasy, and the graft in my chest was purring like a cat that had finally been given the fancy food instead of the store brand.

I hadn’t been trained for this specifically. Nobody had. But six weeks of watching Aurora fall apart in increasingly creative ways had taught me the shape of her, and right now the shape of her was a girl coming down from an orgasm hard enough to break a wall clock, and she needed a second before I gave her the third.

She got about four seconds.

"Wait," Aurora gasped, both hands still pressed flat against my chest. "Wait, that was—give me a—"

"Nope."

I pulled her off the desk. Her legs stayed locked around my waist because they had nowhere else to go, and I carried her three steps to the blackboard while still buried inside her. Her milk-soaked shirt smeared white against the chalk. Aurora’s spine hit the cold slate and she made a sound halfway between a curse and a hymn.

"You said you’d been good." I braced her against the board and drove up into her. "So I’m rewarding you. Every reward comes in threes tonight. Ask Naomi. Ask Belle."

"That’s not—" Her head fell back against the blackboard and knocked a smiley face I’d drawn during setup into a smear. "That’s not how patience works, you absolute—"

I sealed my mouth over her left nipple and drank.

The strawberry-champagne flooded my tongue and the System pinged twenty-five points and I ignored it because the point of tonight wasn’t the point count, which was possibly the most character-development thing I’d ever thought and I hated that the old man in the library would’ve been proud.

Aurora’s fingers dug into my hair. Not pulling. Just holding, the way she held onto things she didn’t want to admit mattered. Her hips rolled to meet mine in a rhythm we’d built across a hotel room in Ventura and a pocket dimension and one memorable morning where Addison had walked in on us and Aurora had refused to stop.

"Jace." Her voice cracked on my name. Not Mr. Monroe. Not the breathy schoolgirl act. Just Jace, raw and stripped and honest. "Jace, I meant it. Earlier. The thing I said."

I lifted my head from her breast. Milk dripped from the corner of my mouth and I didn’t wipe it away because that would’ve meant letting go of her, and Aurora Fitzgerald had just said she loved me for the second time in ten minutes, and she was looking at me with green eyes gone soft in a way she’d spent two years engineering herself to never look at anyone.

"I know." I kissed her. Slow this time. Nothing performative in it. "I heard you the first time."

"And you didn’t say it back." Her legs tightened. Her body clenched around me hard enough that my rhythm stuttered. "You just untied me and kept going, which is very on-brand, but I noticed."

"You want the words during sex?" I drove deep and held. "Or do you want me to say them when your hair isn’t full of chalk dust and you don’t have my essence dripping down your thighs?"

Aurora laughed. It broke apart into a moan halfway through because I’d started moving again, but it was a real laugh, the kind that shook loose from somewhere behind all the orchestration and the games and the careful placement of chess pieces.

"When you put it that way." She dragged her nails down my back over the marks Belle and Naomi and Addison had already left, adding her own set to the collection, and Euphoric Feedback converted the sting into a spike that had me groaning against her throat. "Fine. Later. But you owe me the words, Monroe. Off the clock. No sanctum. No system. Just you being a functional human for thirty seconds."

"I’ll pencil it in."

"You don’t own a pencil." She kissed my jaw. "Belle keeps your calendar."

Fair point.

I set a harder pace. The blackboard rattled against the wall with every stroke and another fluorescent tube gave up and died, plunging half the fake classroom into the amber emergency glow the Sanctum defaulted to when I stopped micromanaging the lighting. Aurora’s breathing climbed. The specific tell she had before a peak, the way her whole body wound tight and her sounds pitched up half an octave, arrived on schedule.

I activated Sensory Hijack on touch and stacked it under the Euphoric Feedback already running at nine.

Every point where my skin met Aurora’s doubled. My hands on her thighs, my chest against her breasts, the friction between us, all of it amplified into something her nervous system couldn’t file properly. She screamed. Her back arched off the blackboard hard enough to lift both of us. Milk sprayed across the chalk in fresh arcs and the second orgasm rolled through her in waves I could feel from the inside, her body gripping and releasing in a rhythm that had nothing to do with anything she controlled.

Resonance Coupling Target 3 Second Peak Registered. One remaining.

"That’s two," I murmured into her hair.

"You’re a monster." She was shaking. Her stockings had slid down to bunch at her knees and her twin ponytails had come completely undone, orange hair loose and wild around a face that had abandoned every mask she’d ever worn. "You’re a genuine, certified, milk-drinking monster and I—"

"Love me. Yeah. You mentioned."

"Shut up." She pulled my mouth to hers. "Shut up and finish. Give me the buff. I have guild scouts tomorrow and I want to walk in there running Gold-tier Sensory Hijack and I want them to see exactly what I’m worth."

There it was. The other half of Aurora, the one that had climbed to rank twenty-three on a support ability everyone said was useless, the one who turned a hospital-visit panic into a shopping intervention, the one who saw a dying lottery kid and decided he was interesting enough to build a life around. She wanted the words and she wanted the buff and she wanted to conquer a guild tryout, and none of those wants canceled the others out.

I carried her back to the desk. Laid her across the ruined papers with her legs hanging off the edge and her hands finding my chest again, palms flat over the graft that pulsed steady and warm and full. Aurora watched me with those green eyes gone almost black, her chest rising and falling too fast, milk still leaking slow from both nipples.

"Look at me," she said. "When you finish. I want to watch your face."

"Bossy."

"I’m literally always bossy. It’s my entire personality." A ghost of the old smirk. "You knew that when you built me a classroom."
