Chapter 4873  A Forlorn Memory

Fairy Retribution appeared shocked, not knowing how to react to this information, yet before she could even think, a bunch of insults emerged out of her mouth.

A forlorn memory emerged in her mind.

She was little.

She walked with her grandfather to the temple near their mansion, holding his hand. She remembered being focused on her candy, walking for a while up the stairs before eventually appearing in front of two giant gates.

The gates opened, and her grandfather took her inside while he remained silent.

"This is your second aunt, Felicia Archus. She remains asleep for millions of years, but you don't need to be afraid. She has not passed away. Pay your respects and don't forget to visit her and keep her in your memory because she is one of us."

Anastasia Archus blinked cutely at her grandfather before gazing at the blue-robed woman on the ice bed. To her, it was unknown what kind of formation or contraption was used to make this place work or even keep this sleeping aunt alive and youthful.

"Uhm… Anastasia Archus, the eighth granddaughter of your father, is here to pay respects to second aunt."

However, she did as she told and paid respects, but didn't forget to hide the candy behind her when her grandfather reached out his hand to take it, making it an awkward matter.

"Hahaha!"

The whole family behind her laughed, making her look back and flash a cute smile.

"Shishishi~"

Fairy Retribution blinked, her gaze returning to the present.

She had met her second aunt nearly every year, trying to wake her up using all kinds of antics. Her parents, elders, and siblings didn't stop her from disturbing second aunt awake, but no matter what she tried, she was unable to awaken her, later learning the reason second aunt went to sleep was to reunite with her lover, Zhao Yan.

At first, she felt pity for both of them, two lovers unable to meet each other.

However, as time passed by, she could only think of the well-being of the second aunt.

From what she had heard, it seemed like the second aunt's hair turned white upon hearing that the Elemental Dimension Secret Realm closed and trapped her love and husband-to-be, Zhao Yan.

They were able to awaken her from her coma, but she was full of sorrow and chose to commit suicide. However, after being convinced multiple times by her parents, she was about to remarry, only to suddenly enter deep sleep as she formed a karmic pact with Zhao Yan's soul essence that he had left behind for her in the form of a pendant.

Perhaps if it weren't for this pendant gift, her second aunt wouldn't have to suffer so much.

After much research, their grandfather figured out that this pact would be lifted when Zhao Yan returns to the True Immortal World. From then on, they had no choice but to wait since waking her up soon might just agitate her again into losing hope and committing suicide.

Naturally, this wasn't enough to stop them. They had tried many methods to wake her up and perhaps later seal her memories to allow her to start her life anew, but even their attempts to wake her up all ended in failure. The only conclusion they could come to was that both her second aunt and Zhao Yan's longing for each other had crossed dimensions.

It was even said that if her second aunt had carried the phoenix bloodline, perhaps even the mystical World Spirit Phoenix Blessing phenomenon might've descended from how Zhao Yan thought of her.

But this was also a curse. As long as Zhao Yan longed for her deeply from the other side, their second aunt would never wake up.

This was why she and many others of the Archus Family hated Zhao Yan- or rather, they came to hate him for not returning sooner and eternally making their beloved Felicia Archus a sleeping beauty. Otherwise, he was a perfect son-in-law.

They wanted him dead. If he died, perhaps their Felicia would awaken and could finally move on? They felt she had suffered enough, so only such thoughts remained in their minds, and she herself was also affected by such emotions.

Fairy Retribution calmed herself as she took a deep breath.

"Is there any information on Zhao Yan's whereabouts?" She asked, half curious, half annoyed.

The Guardian Elder didn't respond, but seeing his Young Miss look as though she was about to retaliate, he opened his mouth.

"None. However, we will begin our galaxy-wide search. But you need to return first."

Fairy Retribution's mouth opened, "I see."

"Someone should've seen Zhao Yan. As long as he possessed some leisure, he would choose to return to this galaxy. It shouldn't be long before we find him, so it's better for me to stay here and check with Jiayi Crystalveil. Her information network is vast and will prove to be useful."

"Young Miss, you're making this difficult for me." The Guardian Elder grumbled.

Fairy Retribution raised her willowy brows. She folded her hands, appearing reluctant, "Guardian Elder, if you forcefully take me back, I would complain to your wife. Can you stop her from beating you up?"

"…"

With the silence becoming painfully clear, Fairy Retribution giggled.

"Hehe~"

"I will only wait for half a day. After that, no matter what you say, I will take you back forcefully even if I have to." The Guardian Elder's voice was firm.

It seemed like he possessed various privileges to override the protection target's indulgent and selfish wants.

Fairy Retribution nodded, "That's what I'm talking about. Also, what else has Guardian Elder found out, especially about the Divine Emperor of Death? Don't worry, I won't force Jiayi Crystalveil anymore. The priorities have changed."

"… You're a handful. No wonder your father nearly chased you out."

"You-"

The Guardian Elder quickly continued, "I found nothing else in particular. Oh, right. There are fears that there might be an onset of a Desolate Era due to the aftereffects of the Divine Emperor of Death's ridiculously big anarchic tribulation, although it's unknown if it would expand and remain for millions of years."
