Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4550: A Sign Of A Calamity

Chapter 4550: A Sign Of A Calamity

Davis so wanted to grab Isabella then and there to make love with her, but he refrained and started making preparations.

They started to build formations that blocked out the lightning, thunder, and wind from blowing on them with the furious nature of a wild storm.

Myria constructed a powerful formation using a Primarch Grade resource as a core and four Peak-Level Empyrean Grade resources, namely lightning, fire, wind, and water attributes, to defend against the dangers of this region.

The water attribute treasure was used to engulf the soul-reaving sounds, preventing thunder and other dangerous sounds from penetrating the formation.

As for the core, it was an earth attribute Primarch Grade Treasure that harmonized the four Empyrean Grade resources and powered them up.

This made for an impenetrable defense, leaving Fairy Thunderblaze honestly surprised.

She could sense the power this formation held as it was capable of even stopping her. Her full prowess was capable of allowing her to battle against a Level Seven Empyrean.

No supreme genius could reach such a level without using a treasure of High-Level Empyrean Grade.

Even Riaz Heavenshade was incapable of such a thing. Yet even after reaching such a level, Fairy Thunderblaze felt as though she couldn’t break it.

She was also proficient in formations, but couldn’t get any confidence in being able to unravel it, even while watching it being made. On the other hand, she felt that a few of the Mistwalkers could make it collapse if given a fair amount of time.

Fairy Thunderblaze reached out her hand, grabbing the hair of a white robed woman and pulling her up.

"Ahh..."

The woman whimpered, her expression weak.

"Layla, Layla, Layla..." Fairy Thunderblaze’s lips curled, "I told you, Mistwalkers and other supreme geniuses to stay away from me. Which part of it didn’t you understand? Did you want revenge for delaying you back then before being hit by Myria, who used one of your own Divine Techniques?"

"It was... Lambert’s idea..."

Layla Mistwalker’s brows furrowed while her expression was weak. Her cultivation was already sealed by Evelynn, and her energy was drained by a formation implanted in Evelynn’s life ring.

Fairy Thunderblaze turned to look at Davis, who arranged this for her after she heard that the Mistwalkers planned to end her using a powerful, entrapping, killing formation.

Davis nodded, "I can confirm since I devoured Lambert’s memories."

"Are you sure you’re not saying that just to save her- seeing that you haven’t killed yet, considering you killed the most influential and powerful supreme genius of the Mistwalker Family?"

"..." Davis wasn’t about to go into why he did it when he had already expounded on why he did it.

"Believe what you will. I captured her to take advantage of her Phyletic Law of Formations."

"Fair enough."

Fairy Thunderblaze returned her gaze, facing Layla Mistwalker eye to eye, "But why stop there? Shouldn’t you take advantage of her body as well?"

"...!"

Davis’s brows raised while Layla Mistwalker trembled.

"I have no such interests."

Davis said in a cold voice, "If I am ever pushed to that level in order to commit such a vile deed, I wouldn’t be the one doing it. I’ll simply have a beast do it in order to utterly destroy their dignity and ruin their life."

Fairy Thunderblaze’s gaze narrowed. She turned to glare at him.

"Are you saying that to me?"

"Never. You have a special corner in our prison. I’ll entrap you and make sure you never get to enjoy the pleasures of dual cultivation in your life. Instead, your body, your soul, and everything will be in a world of pain because I’m sure by the time I think like this, you will have already committed the vilest deed against me."

Fairy Thunderblaze’s eyes went wide. He did say that he would not hesitate to harm her if she did something foolish or funny.

To think it had been something like this, trapped in a world of eternal torture. She couldn’t begin to imagine what kind of soul-torturing methods he had up his sleeves, just like she had her own methods.

Davis shrugged.

If he were dealing with a prostitute, then he wouldn’t use the beast method on them because he knew they might like it. Instead, he had many other vile punishments up his head.

Fortunately, he didn’t hate any women to that level of degree. Utmost, he had killed them without even giving them a chance to beg for their lives.

Even for him, there were certain limits he had to place on himself. Otherwise, it was a slippery slope since it was extremely easy to get drunk on power.

"Are you saying you have some desire towards me?"

Abruptly, Fairy Thunderblaze asked with a strange expression on her face.

Davis raised his brows. After all those cruel and disgusting words he uttered, that was what she had to say about it?

He turned around to leave.

"I’m not blind."

His voice echoed out as he eluded her gaze.

"..."

Fairy Thunderblaze’s heart churned. Her gaze lingered on the place where he disappeared for a few seconds that seemed like a long time for her before she turned to look at Layla Mistwalker, her expression exuding a renewed smile.

"Today is a good day for you since it seems like your life is in safe hands."

She smirked at her and tossed her to the side, whereupon she disappeared into a life ring.

Evelynn dropped her hand, her life ring dimming. She gazed at Fairy Thunderblaze, "Don’t you mean that it’s a good day for you?"

"Don’t be silly. My good day is when he gets tired of you all. I’m sure you’re all torturing him with your requests day after day, nagging at him, demanding he listen, trying to monopolize, restricting his actions, and limiting his freedom."

"..." Evelynn raised her brows at Fairy Thunderblaze’s words.

She couldn’t act like she didn’t hear that they were torturing him.

"We never restrict him or limit his freedom. What we’re asking of him is well within the bounds of our marriage and harem, just like he can ask of us. More than anything, it’s presumptuous of you to think we hold any power over him."

Fairy Thunderblaze turned to look away.

"I never said you all have power over him. I said that he gives power to you all, and I dislike it to the core."

Evelynn blinked, "You’re honest. Do you still hold some fondness for him?"

"I’m not blind."

Fairy Thunderblaze said calmly.

"Hehe~" Isabella giggled as she came forward.

"Zenova and I talked a lot more than this. I know she very much wants him, but she would like to get rid of us all first. She had made that clear even back then."

"Well," Evelynn’s lips curled, "Good luck with that. Even with your current power, I don’t think you can beat me."

"Oh?" Fairy Thunderblaze returned her gaze to Evelynn, her black eyes sparkling with a violet-gold arc.

"You want to make that clear?"

She asked in a cold her amused voice, full of confidence. She had lost to Davis, but that didn’t mean she would lose to his first wife.

How far could Evelynn have increased her strength, considering her aura of an Empress was still the same as ever?

"..."

Fairy Thunderblaze’s violet-gold eyes narrowed slightly as Evelynn took a step forward.

*Shsss...*

A noxious hiss sounded as dark purple mist began to seep from Evelynn’s form, tainting the air with a dreadful scent of corrosion and ruination. The very atmosphere trembled, space distorting lightly as the laws surrounding her twisted into a venomous resonance.

Her purple-green hair fluttered unnaturally as her eyes gleamed with a baleful emerald light, her gaze fixed calmly yet menacingly on Fairy Thunderblaze. A devilish smile curved her lips, one that didn’t belong to a benevolent wife, but to a calamity wrapped in the shell of a woman.

"You’re welcome to try," Evelynn’s voice echoed faintly, laced with whispers of suffering and agony, as though thousands of calamitous souls were speaking through her.

Fairy Thunderblaze’s pupils constricted.

What was this...?

A sense of foreboding different from the one she had just experienced slithered up her spine, causing her heart to chill.

That ominous smile, that unfathomable aura of annihilation... it wasn’t simple heavenly poison anymore. It felt overbearing, suffocating, unrelenting, as if even her soul would be corroded just by proximity.

This was something far deeper... far more lethal...

’Annihilative heavenly poison...’

Fairy Thunderblaze didn’t think such a thing even existed.

Her feet instinctively slid a step back, and she realized it too late.

Evelynn’s evil smile deepened.

"You hesitated."

"...!"

Fairy Thunderblaze’s fists clenched at her sides. She hadn’t even noticed herself retreating.

"You-!"

The scarlet-gold arcs of thunderfire crackled over her body, ready to burst forth in indignation, but they faltered. Deep inside, a part of her pride was screaming not to be cowed, but the rest, the part that remembered how Davis looked at Evelynn, how he trusted her and loved her, whispered her soul to take deep caution.

If something went wrong here because she used her full prowess and harmed Evelynn, he would utterly do the thing he said he would.

She stared at Evelynn, unable to make the first move.

Fairy Thunderblaze realized Evelynn wasn’t some flower hiding behind her husband’s strength anymore. She had become a threat in her own right, something that the world should fear more than the Divine Emperor of Death!
