Chapter 4548: Belated Reaction
Chapter 4548: Belated Reaction
"Your choices and abilities to traverse with skill and wits brought you all this way, but it still falls short of what I have achieved, so be careful."
His voice echoed, but he had already disappeared.
Fairy Thunderblaze’s pupils dilated. She was ready, yet she barely managed to see a dark crimson arc flash appearing over the sides of her gaze. She tried to move but froze, knowing she was already in checkmate.
She tremblingly turned to look at the purple-robed man standing beside her as he looked straight ahead, his figure crackling with black-golden arcs of lightning-like form of energy, which she figured might be how obliteration energy might look like.
’Impossible...’
Fairy Thunderblaze’s heart shook. She kept her gaze on him. There was no way he could’ve moved at that kind of speed to overwhelm her when she was already at the pinnacle of speed for what an Immortal Emperor could achieve.
Thunderfire Laws! Its destructive power was not only its property but also its speed and the momentum that rolled along with her movement. It basically could not be stopped, or the thunderous clap would turn anyone into bloody meat paste.
"Ah~"
Davis blinked at the women before him. One of them who was directly in his line of travel fell and dropped to their butt while the others went pale and aghast, retreating with awkward steps.
He had no idea who these women were, but from them, he felt the aura of Blazing Thunderlight Kirin. He guessed that they could be from the scam sect Fairy Thunderblaze had created.
Nevertheless, he slowly turned to look at Fairy Thunderblaze.
"So, did you see me coming?"
"..."
Fairy Thunderblaze was simply speechless.
Davis nodded, "Hmm, I think not, so that’s all for the sparring."
He reached out his hand, dropping two rings before her face, before he transformed into a burst of black-golden vortex that radiated a crimson light, returning to his people.
In the air, Fairy Thunderblaze looked at the two rings, her spatial ring and life ring.
She did not doubt it was hers even before confirming that they were missing from her fingers. With his speed, he managed to swipe her fingers clean. She guessed that was the only reason she had even managed to see a glimpse of the dark crimson flash that went by the side of her eyes.
Otherwise, she felt like she wouldn’t have even discovered a hint of his movement.
This terrifying notion left her absolutely dumbfounded, unable to speak a word to reclaim her pride that she had just lost.
Her mind was in shambles.
’How can it be...? How can he be- How can he be so powerful!?’
She kept asking herself, unable to understand how the Divine Emperor of Death could’ve improved this much in a decade when he wasn’t even in the secret realm for heaven’s sake!
From Isabella, she had learned that his base prowess in Essence Gathering Cultivation was sixteen levels higher. Her own base prowess was fifteen levels higher, so she imagined that there shouldn’t be much of a difference when it came to sparring, even with full force. Even with speed, she didn’t think she would lose.
However, reality had eclipsed her speculation, shattering the confidence she had built up this far. She felt like she had been thrust below once again, like he had gone far away from her while she was still looking at his back, trying to catch up and prove that she wasn’t any less than him.
Over the Davis Family’s side, Davis returned with a spirit in tow.
It was none other than the Crimson Sun Devourer Spirit.
"Fairy Thunderblaze, I’ll buy this prisoner off of you, so name your price. Lucian, you want this spirit, right?"
"...!"
Lucian couldn’t believe it. The Crimson Sun Devourer Spirit was particularly great for him. If he could devour it, his physique should improve by a huge margin, but also worsen since he would be kicked out of the Third Layer as he had almost caught up.
Still, he didn’t care about such things at the moment.
His father had basically shown them all the peak of his prowess in Essence Gathering Cultivation. It had eclipsed past twenty levels higher. After that, they really couldn’t measure how strong it was as it went beyond their perception.
Only Evelynn, Nadia, Myria, and Isabella managed to perceive his prowess.
Lucian came out of his reverie only after a few seconds. He cast a glance at the Crimson Sun Devourer Spirit, its fiery body reminiscent of a miniature burning sun, bellowing like an enraged beast. But now, its flames had dimmed, and it looked like a defeated beast.
Still, it was extremely powerful, its prowess nearly thirteen levels higher in this Shard Region.
Yet, Fairy Thunderblaze basically said it lacked flavor.
Back then, he had thought his physique was the pinnacle when it was during the Lunar Eclipse. But now, even a few of his mothers had surpassed him in that regard. It was extremely motivating for him to also find his own path so that he could become more powerful instead of just relying on the Solar Apocalypse Physique’s natural abilities.
"I want." Lucian nodded.
Davis gazed at the Crimson Sun Devourer Spirit, "I suppose you understand your circumstances. I can free you if you agree to become my son’s spirit partner for a thousand years. If you agree, nod."
The Crimson Sun Devourer Spirit looked back and forth with its spherical body like it was an animated figure before it nodded its head.
Davis gestured towards Lucian, and he began to use the pact.
The Crimson Sun Devourer Spirit came closer to Lucian, obediently like a dog that had its tail tucked.
*Bzz!~*
But suddenly, it abruptly elongated, trying to engulf Lucian in a terrifying tongue of flames, trying to eat him whole.
"What!?" Lucian barely managed to react.
However, the Crimson Sun Devourer Spirit exploded, dropping a few items like the spirit core and shattering into motes of fiery wisps that became fire essence.
