Chapter 4544: What To Reward?
Chapter 4544: What To Reward?
Davis raised his brows. He intently looked at Isabella, wondering how much progress she had made with Zenova Artoria in the past few years.
After all, there were many rumors that the Earth Dragon Villainess and Lightning Demoness Thunderblaze were traveling together.
Isabella also intently gazed at him before she giggled.
"Just kidding. I heard you like Fairy Xiu Juili more, so I will personally go invite her to join our harem."
"Don’t." Davis shook his head, "I don’t want to make it seem like we’re forcing her. It is good if she accepts my proposal of her own volition while taking her own time."
"That’s nice, but that won’t do. Don’t get me wrong. I know my Emperor can make any woman fall quickly." Isabella uttered with pride, "But that won’t do. I heard it’s already been a few months since your proposed, but she wants to repay the Heavenshade Clan for saving and protecting her freedom and dignity."
"In that case, it’s very simple. We pay the Heavenshade Clan dowry to free her from her self-imposed shackles."
Davis couldn’t help but wryly smile, "Honestly, I would love to do that, but some people are just stubborn. If we give dowry to extricate her from the Heavenshade Clan, now she will think that she owes us and would stop interacting with me freely, just like Yotan did once."
"Oh..." Isabella blinked as she realized.
A publicly acclaimed Celestial Fairy like Fairy Xiu Juili would carry her own sense of self-worth and wouldn’t possibly give it away for anything other than what they deemed greater than their self-worth.
"In that case, I will just wait. But I should reward my Emperor. Whom should I present?"
"Why does a gift for me need to be a woman?"
Davis chuckled amusedly, "Just your presence alone is enough for me, seriously. I missed you so much, and would not send you anywhere again for the next century at the very least."
"..." Isabella’s cheeks reddened, reminded of the sweet whispers after their passionate exchange, "You can’t be so demanding. A hundred years is too much. I’ll grow tired of you..."
She blushed so hard that she lied.
"Then I’ll disappear and you can come chase me." Davis shrugged.
Isabella’s brows raised before she smiled, thinking it was a challenge.
"That works~"
"Don’t jinx it, you two!" Tia echoed from behind.
She eyed Davis, indicating that the danger that she divined for Isabella was still present, causing him to nod.
"Alright, now that we have gotten Isabella back, let’s form a settlement here for the time being. That will be our base for operations, and we’ll spread out as teams to find treasures.*
"Yay!~" Eterna cheered.
The other children were also full of smiles. Now they have their chance to collect Primarch Grade Treasures.
"Other than Nadia, Myria, and me, no one is to enter the Shard Continent. We will traverse this dangerous land and locate the other two High-Level Shard Regions and then bring back Shirley and the others. Do you all understand?"
Davis panned his gaze at his family.
Their expressions said that they were not agreeable to his plans, especially the children. They wanted to go.
"Why not me?" Tia narrowed her brows.
Davis offered his explanation, "It’s because we can’t afford to risk you divining there and being subject to more dangerous backlashes. There are just too many dangers for us to pinpoint the menace that would be lying in wait for us."
"But I need to find a pathway out of the Third Layer for us to enjoy the resources we have gathered. For that, we need to use divination, or else we would waste an extreme amount of time searching for the exit and even meet with danger. If not, do you suggest that we should be relying on luck instead?"
Tia looked at him as she voiced out with a doubtful tone.
"Well, my luck is not good, but Myria’s is great."
"How did you even come to that conclusion?" Myria went flabbergasted.
She didn’t know that her luck was so good considering her past.
Davis chuckled. He didn’t offer an explanation, but his lucky star had always been Myria since the beginning. Because she was born, he was able to come into this world. As for being the Being of Original Sin, he didn’t know much about it to come to a conclusion.
He felt that if he were with Myria, they could achieve great things. Their union was a terrifying force of otherworldly nature that couldn’t be underestimated.
"You’re just trying to convince me otherwise," Tia pouted, "No matter what, I’m also accompanying you. We need to not just find a way out but find a good way out, one that will get us into the least trouble."
"We can only dream..." Davis looked up at the thundering skies and sighed.
He glanced at Tia below, and she didn’t seem to be backing down.
"I’m also coming, and nothing you say can change my mind," Isabella uttered as she took a stand along with Tia.
"..." Davis’s brows furrowed.
"How disobedient." He heaved a breath and rubbed his forehead, "I guess I have no choice but to take Tia and Isabella along with us. The others can wait here and scour the Wrathful Aeons Shard Region."
"No so fast." Isabella giggled, "To be honest, Zenova went to gather a certain material in order to extract a Primarch Grade Resource in this Shard Region. Can you guess what she is trying to get?"
Davis blinked, "What does that matter to us in our expedition?"
"It matters not, but she is indeed becoming a monster as strong as us, and getting those resources will bring her to my level."
"Oh?" Davis sounded surprised, "I didn’t know she still had it in her to make tumultuous waves in terms of prowess."
"Don’t you know? She successfully controls divine lightning and divine fire now, something far above heavenly lightning and heavenly fire in terms of quality."
Isabella’s words shocked everyone, and Davis’s eyes glazed with interest.
He couldn’t help but ask, "What are they truly? How are they formed? Do they actually exist here?"
