Divine Doctor from the Start of the Eye Mutation
Chapter 2063 - 2064: Rivers of Blood
The Iron Bull People charged forward with incredible speed, their two hard horns knocking people into the air.
For a moment, there were screams everywhere, those shields were all hit by the Iron Bull People, and everyone was exposed to the attack range of the foreign race's arrows.
However, the Iron Bull People's charge also had times when it weakened; as long as their strength decreased, their power diminished significantly. When the Iron Bull People couldn't charge anymore, they fell into a siege.
For a moment, chaos ensued as blades launched attacks at the Iron Bull People. Although many human cultivators died under the horns during the charge, nearly all the Iron Bulls that rushed into the crowd were wiped out, with only a few managing to escape alive.
The battle was extremely brutal, the ground was a river of blood; Ling Zhenfei even felt that the land under his feet was somewhat sticky, all due to the excessive bloodshed.
Suddenly, a giant roar erupted from the distant forest, and then the earth began to tremble, as a group of oddly shaped beasts rushed out from the depths of the forest.
These beasts somewhat resembled the Chi Tigers seen in Xianling Mountain, but they were even more formidable than those Chi Tigers.
There were also some smaller creatures with tusks, surging toward them in packs.
These creatures had smelled the scent of blood and were drawn here. Although they had arrived earlier, the previous blood had dried a bit, so they remained hidden at the forest's edge.
However, the recent fierce battle had turned the place into a river of blood, and the beasts could no longer hold back, so they all rushed out of the forest.
Their target was clear: the freshly killed corpses.
These corpses were very fresh, some even still bleeding, precisely what attracted them.
Ling Zhenfei knew these monsters were incredibly powerful, not something they could handle.
Behind them, the Formation originally made up of major sects' members seemed to have anticipated this situation. When these beasts charged over, they immediately opened a path, not blocking the beasts, allowing them to rush straight in.
Ling Zhenfei realized this was not good; while the major sect members could let the beasts through, they couldn't. Most of those fighting earlier were Loose Cultivators.
They either had wounds or were covered in blood, and when the beasts smelled the blood, they got excited. If the beasts charged through, they would become targets of the beast attacks.
The beasts were numerous, running out of the forest in droves.
Ling Zhenfei shouted to Sun Wei and Zhang Zhenlin, "Run quickly!"
Zhang Zhenlin and Sun Wei obviously thought of something, but at this point, running was not easy.
They were already surrounded by the beasts, which, smelling the blood on them, launched attacks.
Some beasts started tearing at the corpses on the ground, but others began attacking the Loose Cultivators.
Ling Zhenfei's long sword swung out a Northern Spiritual Energy, knocking away a few Chi Tigers, but more Chi Tigers rushed toward Ling Zhenfei and Lan Yan.
Lan Yan dodged a Chi Tiger's attack with a flash, stabbing it with a blade. The Chi Tiger cried out in pain, but the blade only pierced a few centimeters.
Arrows rained down from the sky; the arrows fell like rain. With the beasts to deal with and arrows to resist, many cultivators either died under the rain of arrows or were devoured by the beasts.
Screams filled the scene, a truly unbearable sight. Ling Zhenfei was deeply puzzled, not understanding why these major sects were doing this. Was it just to seize the opportunity to eliminate all the Loose Cultivators?
Although these Loose Cultivators were not as strong as the major sects' cultivators, they were numerous, forming a potent force. If they all died, the major sects couldn't rely on their own strength to attack the canyon.
Just then, the major sects suddenly acted. Over a dozen flying swords flew out from among them, directly crossing the beasts in the middle and attacking the foreign races within the canyon.
These dozen or so flying swords, some exceedingly powerful and fast, directly bypassed those shield walls to attack the archers behind them.
These archers had cultivated all their Northern Spiritual Energy into their arms, and when attacked, they had no way to defend themselves.
Some of these flying swords belonged to the Pursue Heart State, naturally making them difficult to block.
Immediately, those archers suffered, with flying swords killing countless archers.
Each flying sword strike killed several archers, and after the kill, the swords flew back and then flew back toward the archers again.
Several times, those archers all retreated, replaced by other tall foreign races wielding swords and knives to fend off the flying swords.
Although the flying swords were formidable, these foreign races were not weak either. They were much better at defense than the archers, making the flying swords less able to kill them easily.
But with no arrows in the sky, the Loose Cultivators were saved, retreating in droves, barely surviving the ordeal.
Then, something even more astonishing happened as the resting beasts started to crash into the dwarf shields.
Ling Zhenfei immediately understood. Though those flying swords killed some archers earlier, they mostly made many archers bleed.
This blood stimulated the beasts' animal desires, prompting them to charge at the dwarf shields.
Countless Chi Tigers and other beasts crashed into the tall shields, but these shields were too sturdy, with many foreign races supporting them from behind, making them unbreakable.
Suddenly, a flying sword flew out, swinging directly at the shield.
A powerful Sword Qi cleaved the shield in two, sending the foreign races behind it tumbling to the ground.
Ling Zhenfei recognized it as Song Yun's sword, whose power was immense, able to break this enchanted shield, showing the strength of Song Yun.
With the shield damaged, a large gap opened in the shield wall, which the monsters eagerly sought.
They soon rushed through this gap; the new shield wall didn't have time to set up, and the monsters stormed in.
The dwarves holding the shields were out of luck. Though they could build extremely sturdy shields, they had few strong means of saving their lives.
When the monsters broke in, it was a disaster, bringing down the shield walls.
The once impregnable shield wall collapsed with a crash, allowing more monsters to charge into the canyon.
The foreign races in the canyon, without the shield wall protection, were all exposed to the human cultivators' view.
Someone shouted, and the major sects' cultivators began attacking the canyon from behind the beasts.
This scene really frustrated those who witnessed it.
What was happening? Had they sacrificed so many Loose Cultivators just to ignite these beasts' desires?
However, utilizing these beasts to break through the canyon gate indeed turned out to be a highly effective plan.
Yet this plan wasn't shared with the Loose Cultivators beforehand, resulting in nearly half of them being casualties. It's hard to imagine what those Loose Cultivators were thinking.
