It's even possible that Northern Spiritual Energy still exists. The beasts of Xianling Mountain already make Ling Zhenfei anxious, let alone the beasts on this side, which might be even more terrifying.

The current situation is that the entrance to the West Gate is occupied and guarded by foreign races, with human cultivators forming a circle outside, and hiding in the surrounding forest are some beasts.

Ling Zhenfei increasingly feels uneasy about this situation. What if the beasts launch an attack now? If the beasts attack now, will the foreign races take the opportunity to attack as well?

If the foreign races also attack, it would mean a pincer assault, and can the human cultivators withstand it?

But now, what exactly do those decision-makers in the major sects want to do? No one can say for sure.

As Ling Zhenfei is pondering the whole issue, suddenly he hears messages being passed down by the major sects.

"Get ready, everyone, we're about to attack."

An uproar ensues among everyone.

"What if the beasts behind us attack while we are engaged in battle?"

"Exactly, we're outside, the foreign races are inside. If a fight breaks out, the beasts will attack us!"

"What's there to worry about? Those beasts won't just eat us; the foreign races are meat too. What we need to do now is cooperate with these beasts and launch an attack together.

Use the momentum of these beasts to launch an offensive against the foreign races."

It's unclear who came up with the idea to capitalize on the beasts' attack.

Many oppose the plan, but it seems the decision by the major sects has been made and can't be changed.

The major sects' people said that this time the loose cultivators are at the front, while they are at the back. Even if beasts attack, it will still be them, the major sects, who are targeted.

These words seem logical, but Ling Zhenfei knows there's definitely something wrong here, although he can't quite pinpoint what it is.

The loose cultivators and smaller sects are positioned at the front, but fortunately, many loose cultivators have crafted shields; Ling Zhenfei and Sun Wei also raised their tall shields.

Ling Zhenfei and Lan Yan hide behind one of the shields, while Sun Wei and Zhang Zhenlin hide behind another.

Upon receiving the command, everyone starts moving forward.

The entrance to the canyon is already brightly lit, so they are discovered before making it halfway, and arrows begin to rain down on them.

A wall formed of shield stands at the forefront of the human cultivators, with Ling Zhenfei and Lan Yan tightly huddled together, hiding behind a shield.

One can clearly feel the impact on the shield from the arrows striking it.

Ling Zhenfei finally understands why these bows and arrows can break demons; if a heavy shield can feel the impact under the attack of these arrows, let alone bare flesh.

The loose cultivators without shields aren't so lucky. Though they are cultivators of the Realm of Reaching Wisdom, capable of dodging bullets, the indiscriminate attack of clustered arrows offers no place to evade.

If Northern Spiritual Energy isn't blocked in time, they'll get hit by arrows. Those struck get launched several meters and are easily hit by other arrows amidst this.

So once struck by an arrow, survival chances diminish completely.

Even though the group can move forward under the shield's protection, the loss is enormous. Yet, their advance under the shields brings them very close to the canyon entrance, nearing the dwarfs' towering shields.

At this point, two entrances on either side of the shield reveals foreign races emerging from within.

Ling Zhenfei recognizes the foreign races charging out; it turns out they are from the Iron Bull tribe.

These Iron Bull people initially supported the West Gate, and now they're here at the East Gate, which proves that within this canyon, the three gates are interconnected, allowing personnel movement throughout.

In other words, as long as influence at one gate weakens, foreign races will reinforce the gate.

After two days of attrition, although human cultivators suffered heavy casualties, the foreign races' losses were also severe. Thus, the West Gate faced substantial pressure, prompting Iron Bull people to assist the East Gate.

The Iron Bull people charged out, and the two sides immediately sank into fierce entanglement.

To prevent the shield's toppling, Ling Zhenfei firmly planted it in the ground before drawing his long sword.

Two Iron Bull people rushed toward their shield with a clear intent to destroy it.

Ling Zhenfei's shield not only protects him and Lan Yan but also shelters many cultivators behind it.

The primary goal of these Iron Bull people is indeed to destroy the shields.

A large number of Iron Bull people surged, but human cultivators fearlessly charged forth, initiating an assault.

Ling Zhenfei's long sword emerged, using Iaido to slash toward the Iron Bull people. The Iron Bull people weren't hesitant either, swinging long swords to cut back.

Ling Zhenfei and Lan Yan previously encountered these Iron Bull people, knowing their skills and weaknesses.

Their skill lies in their head's incredible hardness; their weakness is that their bodies can't withstand strong attacks.

Dealing with the Iron Bull people is manageable for human cultivators because most are agile, making combat with these clumsy Iron Bull people relatively easy.

Ling Zhenfei swiftly maneuvered to the back of an Iron Bull person and killed him with one slash.

Lan Yan was equally undaunted, engaging one Iron Bull person in battle.

Judging by Lan Yan's prowess, she can undoubtedly defeat the Iron Bull person, but that's when the swoosh of arrows from the air interrupted.

These Iron Bull people aren't hard to tackle, yet addressing them necessitates awareness of cold arrows shot from above.

Ling Zhenfei deflected the cold arrow with a slice, while Lan Yan pierced her sword into an Iron Bull person's body.

The initial charge took a heavy toll on the Iron Bull people, who misjudged the strength of the human cultivators.

The sound of a bull's roar resonated, and all Iron Bull people turned to flee.

Such immediate retreat upon engagement is indeed rare.

Everyone chuckled, never expecting foreign races to have such spineless cowards.

But Ling Zhenfei disagreed, knowing the Iron Bull people still possess strength.

Sure enough, the Iron Bull people merely fled to beside the dwarfs' shields before pivoting back to charge again.

This charge differed from the previous; originally on two legs, this time, they came on all fours.

Truly resembling a charging bull towards humans now.

Everyone was startled, uncertain of what's happening, but Ling Zhenfei knew the Iron Bull people leveraged their advantage for an attack.

Many failed to react before the Iron Bull people reached close, brandishing swords at the Iron Bull people's heads.

Sparks flew!

The heads of these Iron Bull people were like steel: hard. The human cultivators were unprepared and were directly knocked flying by the Iron Bull people.

Ling Zhenfei knew the Iron Bull people's formidable head well.

Hence, he didn't fight head-on, pulling Lan Yan upward to dodge the Iron Bull people's attack by flying overhead.
