Divine Beast Creator

Chapter 2711 - 2712: Unexpected

  • Next Chapter

The beginning of the decisive battle allowed Long Boduo some downtime; at least those Divine Beasts had already reached their positions to guard against any potential sneak attack from the Empire’s people.

Even though everyone knew it was unlikely, they were still cautious to prevent it from happening. As for the Netherworld Divine Beasts, there were no arrangements for them at this time.

They lived in the Netherworld, and they had been busy due to spatial lockdown issues recently. It wasn’t convenient for those Divine Beasts to drag them here for help. So as soon as Long Boduo received Feng Yuan’s message, he came over to see what was going on.

Divine Beasts need Divine Beasts’ authorization? It sounded rather peculiar, and given how long Long Boduo had lived, he had hardly heard of anything requiring authorization. He wasn’t quite sure what Feng Yuan was up to that required Divine Beasts’ authorization?

"Are you... on vacation?"

Looking at Long Boduo in casual attire, Feng Yuan was baffled. Long Boduo was in human form now, and if he didn’t know him, Feng Yuan would have thought he was some random adventurer wandering into this place by mistake.

When did this guy manage to change clothes?

"Pretty much. There’s nothing for the Netherworld Divine Beasts to do temporarily, but on your end, why do you suddenly need our authorization?"

Long Boduo spoke with curiosity; as far as he knew, Feng Yuan should not need Divine Beasts’ authorization at all.

"Well, it’s because of this..."

Scratching his head, Feng Yuan explained the matter of the Special Spirit Beast Decoration in detail. Listening to Feng Yuan’s account, Long Boduo was stunned. This special Spirit Beast Decoration required Divine Beasts’ authorization to reveal its full power? That was indeed quite strange.

However, according to Feng Yuan, they had already tested it, so it couldn’t be false. It must mean Feng Yuan had stumbled upon something remarkable.

"I don’t have a problem with it, but having so much authorization concentrated on a single item, is it truly safe?"

After hesitating for a moment, Long Boduo asked with some doubt, as the authorization of Divine Beasts was not the same as others; it granted the qualification to call upon their Authority. Even if it’s not the complete Authority, if used maliciously, it could easily cause chaos.

Not to mention having so many Divine Beasts’ authorizations concentrated together, that thing... could easily attract the attention of those with ill intent.

Long Boduo didn’t doubt Feng Yuan’s ability to protect it; with Feng Yuan’s strength, who could snatch something from him? Long Boduo was more worried whether those guys bothering Feng Yuan could... annoy Feng Yuan?

"It should be safe. The authorization is targeted at Xiao Ji, although it allows Xiao Ji to use the Special Spirit Beast Decoration to borrow the Authority, the restrictions are significant."

Feng Yuan slightly shook his head and said that he had seen that authorization before Long Boduo’s arrival. After all, the authorization of Divine Beasts’ Authority was not like others, and a single mistake could lead to major issues.

As it turned out, that authorization was very specifically directed, limited to Xiao Ji, and Xiao Ji could only use it for the Special Ultimate Move on the Spirit Beast Decoration, nothing else.

Whether Xiao Ji was using the Authority borrowed through authorization to do something or using that Special Spirit Beast Decoration for anything else was impossible.

Feng Yuan believed that Long Boduo would discover this when granting authorization.

Seeing Feng Yuan say this, Long Boduo no longer hesitated. Since the possibility of his Authority causing trouble was low, he simply granted it. After giving the authorization, Long Boduo realized why Feng Yuan was not concerned.

It was simply granting the specific target the qualification to use the exclusive Divine Beast Technique in another form, there really was nothing to worry about.

"Next, we’ll see what the interference form becomes after receiving authorization, but the Netherworld Guide interference... is really..."

With a helpless smile, Feng Yuan was puzzled why the interference form would become the Netherworld Guide Divine Beast Technique; the two didn’t seem to fit together at all.

"Huh? The Netherworld Guide is an interference type? That can’t be right?"

Long Boduo was taken aback; how could he not know the situation of his own exclusive Divine Beast Technique? Isn’t the Netherworld Guide used for travel? How did it become an interference type?

"Borrowing the appearance, but during previous attempts, it would always turn into a youthful version of the corresponding Divine Beast Technique, so they don’t know what’s up with the Netherworld Guide."

Feng Yuan shrugged, indicating he was also clueless, as that thing was indeed a bit odd.

Veronia snorted lightly and waved her hand, and a Crystalline Giant appeared. Xiao Ji immediately used the Ultimate Move after receiving the authorization.

The worn-out ancient door turned into an ancient bronze giant door. As the door slowly opened, a terrifying oppression descended out of nowhere, and Long Boduo looked at the door in surprise.

He was very familiar with that oppressive aura; it was the momentum of the Netherworld itself, usually evenly dispersed throughout the Netherworld. Unless someone foolishly tried to cause large-scale destruction, the Netherworld’s momentum wouldn’t gather.

Of course, once someone did, the Netherworld’s momentum would instantly gather and suppress the destroyer, making it understandable how this thing would be an interference type Ultimate Move.

However, it had nothing to do with his Netherworld Guide.

"Netherworld oppression? So that’s how it works. Only when obtaining authorization can the Netherworld’s momentum be summoned to suppress enemies, tsk, that’s really..."

Feng Yuan figured out what this thing was about, realizing why its appearance resembled the Netherworld Guide, given that not many people had encountered the momentum of the Netherworld.

Attempting to wreak havoc in the Netherworld, before invoking the Netherworld’s self-suppression, the Netherworld Divine Beasts would have already dealt with those foolhardy individuals, so very few had ever seen the Netherworld’s momentum.

This ability only had a suppression function, and even so, its suppression effect was not something ordinary Divine Beast Skills could compare to.

An entire Domain, and the suppression was performed by the unique and powerful Domain of the Netherworld itself, even Divine Beasts would find it difficult to benefit from their might on a short-term basis.

"It really is a terrifying power, who would have thought an inconspicuous Divine Beast Technique could also have such a terrifying side."

Veronia murmured, looking at Long Boduo. Although it was the Ultimate Move of the Special Spirit Beast Decoration and perhaps only borrows the form of the Netherworld Guide, since it sourced from Long Boduo’s authorization, this also confirmed that he could achieve this level.

"I had no idea either; I never imagined the Netherworld Guide could be used in such a way."

Long Boduo stood beside with some helplessness, having never considered utilizing the Netherworld’s momentum. That thing was essentially the self-defense mechanism of the Netherworld. As Netherworld Divine Beasts, it’s not like they didn’t have other methods; why would they constantly ponder using the Netherworld’s momentum against an enemy?

As for this particular usage by Xiao Ji? It wasn’t a problem since possessing the authorization, yet the opponent would likely be unable to mobilize significant Netherworld momentum, nor affect the Netherworld.

Placing Long Boduo in this role would complicate matters; with the Netherworld Guide activated, Divine Beasts would be suppressed, but such actions would inevitably impact the stability of the Netherworld.

Unless absolutely necessary, Long Boduo would never consider this approach.

"Such deployments could easily go awry if not handled perfectly, though..."

Rubbing his chin, Feng Yuan mused, despite lacking a direct connection and with an insufficient amount of summoned Netherworld momentum, those with malicious intent could still exploit it to launch a chain attack on the Netherworld.

Though, considering Xiao Ji’s identity, Feng Yuan thought for a moment and decided against persuading Xiao Ji to stop using this Ultimate Move. Despite Xiao Ji not being a native Netherworld Divine Beast, if someone attempted to attack the Netherworld during Xiao Ji’s use of this Ultimate Move, he believed Xiao Ji would undoubtedly punish the intruder.

Moreover, Feng Yuan found it hard to believe anyone would be foolish enough to make such a redundant move, given that the Netherworld was not cut off from the world. If someone wanted to cause trouble, they could simply act outright.

"This really is incredible."

Veronia didn’t think too deeply, yet she could sense the strong, suppressive power, indicating that even caught off guard, she would be immobilized for several seconds.

Let’s not forget that Xiao Ji currently only possessed Good Level strength, managing to control a Divine Beast Level Veronia, even if only for a few seconds, was quite remarkable.

"However, it can’t be used often, and being only suppressive, if it fails to hold, this Ultimate Move would be worthless."

Feng Yuan gently shook his head and remarked; strong as it was, its effect was singular, and because it was only suppressive, it could only be used in conjunction with other chain attacks.

In terms of interference, though, this Ultimate Move was already well qualified. Compared to Long Boduo and Tamur’s strength, Feng Yuan had to marvel at the fact that the strength of the authorized Divine Beasts didn’t determine the intensity of the Ultimate Move’s form.

At least compared to defensive forms, the interference form was much stronger, and as for attacks within the Death Series of attacking forms? That was the weakest among the three.

Not due to lack of power, but for Xiao Ji’s case, that attack approach wasn’t as effective as using the Crimson Judgement himself.
