In two years Atlantis grew significantly, with the support of the pack, they were able to thrive.

An underground city rose near the shores of the pack beach, this naturally drew a lot of tourists.

When people learnt the city belonged to merfolk, they went crazy, there were even some who went overboard.

Speaking of which, one of them was currently having an audience with Annie in the throne room.

Annie sighed and covered her eyes with her hand, she looked down at the fat bastard standing below her.

The man looked like a pig but he was not from the orc race, orcs couldn’t reach level 4 without special circumstances.

In actuality he was a hippoman, their race was not very strong overall but there were some of them who reached level 7.

This ugly bastard was at level 4 but he was protected by two level 7 guards, one a Naga, another an Avian.

The man kept blabbering endlessly in a flattering tone, Annie got tired of his talking and raised her hand.

He continued as if he didn’t notice, a dangerous aura wrapped around his neck, Suzie glared at him with killing intent.

" When my lady tells you to shut up, you shut up." Said Suzie in a soft respective voice but her words held no respect. The man gulped.

" So let me get this straight, you’re proposing selling my people?" Asked Annie.

" Well..it was my understanding that your people were members of the noble werewolf race your highness, all I ask is to..."

Annie stopped him, " I do not know where you got your information from but all those under my rule are my people.

So you, you came to me to tell me you want to sell my people, I promised them my protection and you stand in my court and propose I betray my word.

I will let you leave here alive but you are never to set foot in my lands again and neither shall your company."

The fat merchant stood there flabbergasted, " Your highness please reconsider, I was merely..."

" My patience is limited." Said Annie, the merchant felt multiple eyes land on him and his guards.

Suki and Fred were in the hall as well and their killing intent was rising with each passing moment.

The merchant gulped but cooperation with the pack was too profitable, just the tiny fraction he get by transporting their blood limit breaker potions was staggeringly high.

Even if he couldn’t make a deal involving the merfolk, he couldn’t lose the already existing deals.

" Perhaps if I could get an audience with the king." The merchant figured if he couldn’t convince the queen then talk to the king.

He doubted any man would resist what he had in mind, as soon as he said that though he felt the temperature drop.

" Calm down love, this fool is just about to leave." Said Annie, the merchant and his guards couldn’t stop shaking.

For a brief moment they felt as if they were in the jaws of a world devouring beast with no means of escape.

" Be glad he’s not here, you would’ve lost your head by now, he’s not as patient as I am, now leave."

The merchant bowed and practically ran out of the castle, he got in his carriage and took off.

Using teleportation or flying within the city was prohibited so he was forced to drive normally until he left.

Back in the castle, Suki looked at Annie, " I don’t mean to question you my lady but why did you let him go after such disrespect?" She asked.

Suki felt a pair of cold eyes on her back, the source of which was Suzie, " It is not your place to question the Alpha Suki, her words are his words, you’d do well to remember that."

Everybody knew Suzie’s loyalty to Adrian was cult like, if he told her to kill herself she would gladly do it.

Only one other had as much worship and since Annie was his mate, that loyalty transferred to her as well.

Annie giggled, " Now now, no need to get tense Suzie and to answer your question Suki, I didn’t want to dirty my castle floor."

She left them with that and went to find Adrian, she found him still tinkering with the silver clock.

Outside the city, the merchant sighed with relief, he could now use the full speed of his carriage.

Being a merchant required traveling across Alguard and the distances between cities let alone kingdoms was too vast.

One needed special abilities like space-time movement to be a successful merchant, he had such an ability.

His was called the stream of an endless river and he was very proud of it. Water surrounded his carriage.

The next moment the carriage was gone and appeared above a pond behind a beautiful palace.

The merchant got out and grumbled, " That stupid bitch, she has no idea who she’s dealing with.

I’ll show her, send a message to his highness, tell him I have an opportunity that might allow him to reach level 8 at last."

He sent a messenger to the leader of their race, ’ I’ll give his highness the hearts and take the tears of the princess myself.

With immortality, I’ll have enough time to rule this entire world.’ he could already picture himself as the king of the world.

His illusion of grandeur lasted all the way until dinner, sitting around the table with his family finally brought him back to reality.

It was only then that he noticed there was nobody around them, all the guards and maids were gone.

Finally he caught the scent of blood and the food on the table disappeared and was replaced by the heads of his family.

The bird leg in his hand turned into his daughter’s leg. " AHHHHHH!" He screamed and fell on his butt.

He slapped himself multiple times trying to wake himself up from the nightmare. " Karoo, Senaga!" He shouted for his two guards.

With them by his side he would feel much more secure and then seek his revenge for his family.

" Who? Who could’ve done this?" He gritted his massive hippo teeth. " Senaga, Karoo, where are you you bastards, what exactly am I paying you to?!" He shouted.

" Don’t bother." An unfamiliar voice answered him instead. His head snapped to where it came from.

He saw a thin man with glasses sitting on his table eating a bleeding heart with a fork and knife.

Across him was a short woman dressed like a kunoichi, she too was feasting on a heart but in a more savage way.

" Who? Who are you?" The merchant forgot his rage, all emotions were replaced with a wave of heart stopping fear.

The man placed down his fork and looked at him like how one looks at an insect, " It wasn’t wise of you to piss off the boss lady but I have to thank you.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a hearty meal, thank you, your guards were quite palatable, disgusting as their personalities might’ve been."
