Chapter 1771 - 154: Dream
The scarlet mist above the ceiling continually twisted as it emitted indistinct muffled sounds. Fisher couldn’t discern their exact meaning; it only seemed eerily familiar, though that familiarity was quickly swallowed by an extreme and spine-prickling danger.
This is the true form of the Scarlet Mist, not the phantom seen within the Wutong Tree. The source of this Scarlet Mist is Spirit Realm Pollution with a True God rank.
"Alagina, how can we return to the Wutong Tree?"
"Return?"
Alagina was slightly taken aback. Though she couldn’t see anything, when she saw Fisher’s extremely serious expression, she hurriedly took out the cardinal used for teleportation from her bosom.
"David, we need to go back now. Can you open the teleportation channel?"
"Beep beep... Do we need to return now, Alagina? Has something happened?"
Alagina glanced at Fisher, still said,
"Don’t ask too much for now. We’ll discuss the details once we’re back in reality."
"Beep beep... Okay, David will prepare the teleportation now."
"Buzz buzz..."
The cardinal in Alagina’s hand received David’s directive and began to emit a strange wave, with the surrounding space starting to pull to envelop them and take them in a certain direction.
But in the next instant, the scarlet mist in the sky seemed to have perceived their intentions, suddenly becoming turbulent and roaring while transforming into a tornado that rushed downward.
That scarlet mist carried an unimaginable force, drawing near in an instant. Alagina’s cardinal became uncontrollably trembling, and the power intended to envelop them and bring them back to reality shattered abruptly, echoing a loud bang.
"Beep beep... Device malfunction detected, repairing, repairing... beep beep... repair failed..."
"David?!"
Alagina stared at the suddenly dimmed cardinal in her hand, confused as to what happened. However, Fisher’s expression changed, and he pulled Alagina into his embrace and shot downward from the ship. The enormous force caused the still-under-construction ship to tilt instantly, but the coagulated scarlet mist showed no intention of sparing Fisher and Alagina, as it turned again towards them.
The area marked by the scarlet mist changed instantly. The place originally paved with stone turned verdant; the still-unfinished steel battleship morphed into a giant whale head, and the twisted cardinal was inlaid into the ship, turning into barnacles.
"Woo woo woo!!"
To Fisher’s astonishment, the whale head with only one head seemed to come alive as it began to struggle, letting out a roar akin to a tsunami, shaking its head while opening a blood basin, spewing colorful balloons.
But these balloons weren’t merely balloons; they mimicked heads in form—the appearance of a man and a woman. The woman’s expression was wild, akin to a hell demon with their mouth agape; while the man looked downcast, as if crying continuously.
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! How do I have a child like you!"
This was the furious statement from the woman balloon.
"It’s all father’s fault, all father’s fault, Amitabha Buddha..."
This was the sorrowful statement from the man balloon.
They simultaneously floated towards Fisher and Alagina, expanding while speaking, emitting scarlet light.
Fisher’s eyes narrowed at the sight, promptly drawing the Fluid Sword. As a streak of silver light flashed, the slash instantly sliced through the incoming balloons like a net, causing an explosion that gushed out blood-like liquid.
That blood splattered everywhere, falling to the ground to transform into umbilical cords, paintbrushes, Buddha beads, wooden fish, and blood-stained lotus.
Fisher’s pupils shrank further. Just as he was about to retrieve his Fluid Sword, his palm felt slippery. Looking down, the Fluid Sword had morphed into a worn-out jump rope, drooping down while it dragged blood stains on the ground.
"This..."
"Pa! Pa! Pa!"
"Fisher!"
Alagina seemed to realize something was off too. She looked around as the originally normal scene started to warp, transforming into what Fisher saw. She suddenly felt an itch in her eye; she reached out to rub it, but the more she rubbed, the itchier it became, as if something was drilling out from her eyes.
Placing her palm out, she looked down and saw black ink words hopping away from her, each holding hands in escape, shouting loudly amongst each other,
"Run, everyone!! That little girl is going to forget us; let’s escape from her mind!!"
"Wha...what?"
Alagina lifted her head blankly and looked at Fisher in front of her, finding his clothes transformed into a Kasaya she’d never seen before, and the jump rope in his palm into a heavy strand of Buddha beads.
Holding these objects, both alien and familiar, finally, that name inevitably escaped his lips,
"Tangze... Asuka?"
"Buzz buzz buzz..."
"You’re a fake!! You’re a fake!! You’re deceiving me! You’ve gone, the teacher I’ve had in my mind all along is fake!!"
