Chapter 2690 - 2694: Fifth Lord of Gu’s Doubts

Chapter 2690: Chapter 2694: Fifth Lord of Gu’s Doubts

Xiao Shumiao is clearly his own biological son, yet after having him by his side for so long, he actually never saw it.

He regards this as the greatest humiliation of his life.

After acknowledging Xiao Shumiao, he had Gu Qingrun teach him human anatomy for a few days and specially studied the structure of the human body.

For many people, you can’t see any resemblance just from the facial features.

But for someone with medical training, it’s very easy to spot similarities between two people from certain characteristics of their skeletal structure.

Back then, everyone in the Gu Family, including Ye Xingbei, had already formed a fixed idea and firmly believed that Xiao Shumiao had absolutely nothing to do with the Gu Family or with him, so even if they saw a slight resemblance between him and Xiao Shumiao, they wouldn’t take it to heart, let alone suspect a parent–child relationship.

But he was different.

As far as he knows, matching for a heart transplant is extremely strict.

Among tens of thousands of people, you might not even find a single successful match.

How could it be such a coincidence that Huo Zhongqi just happened to be a successful match for Huo Zhonglin?

Does Huo Zhongqi really have no connection at all to the Huo Family?

With that doubt in mind, he studied the Huo Family’s family portrait more closely and discovered that there were actually similarities between Huo Zhongqi and Huo Qihang.

He guessed that Huo Zhongqi and Huo Qihang actually had a blood relationship.

If not father and son, then uncle and nephew, or some other kind of kinship.

If that’s the case, then things get interesting.

If Huo Zhongqi really is Huo Qihang’s son, then when Huo Qihang finds out that he nearly dug out the heart of his own healthy biological son whom he personally raised for eight years, to save another sickly son who had only just been found and with whom he hadn’t yet built any feelings, he might regret it so much he’d cough up blood, right?

Especially since this biological son is the grandson Senior Master Huo values most, the bargaining chip that could help him sit on the Huo Family heir’s throne.

If his speculation is true, that Huo Zhongqi is indeed Huo Qihang’s son, then once Huo Qihang learns the truth, he will definitely be consumed with regret.

"You mean Qiqi is actually related to Huo Qihang?" Ye Xingbei was extremely shocked.

"Yes," Gu Junzhu nodded. "I’m guessing that Huo Zhongqi is actually indeed Huo Qihang’s son."

"How is that possible?" Ye Xingbei couldn’t believe it. "Didn’t Huo Qihang do a paternity test with Huo Zhongqi, and the paternity test proved that Huo Zhongqi isn’t his son? And didn’t Qiqi say that Huo Qihang found evidence that he and Huo Zhonglin were switched back then?"

Gu Junzhu shook his head and gave a chuckle. "Have you forgotten? Back then my dad also did a paternity test for me and Xiao Shumiao, and the result also proved that there was no blood relationship between me and Xiao Shumiao!"

Ye Xingbei: "...You mean, Huo Qihang was tricked just like our dad was? That Qiqi is actually his biological son? Then what about Huo Zhonglin? Is Huo Zhonglin his son?"

Gu Junzhu shook his head. "That I don’t know. Huo Zhonglin isn’t in the family portrait, so I don’t know what he looks like and can’t judge whether he resembles Huo Qihang. But based on my deduction, there should be a blood relationship between Huo Zhonglin and Huo Qihang; otherwise it wouldn’t be such a coincidence that Huo Zhongqi could be a successful match for Huo Zhonglin."

Ye Xingbei frowned. "You’re saying that both Huo Zhongqi and Huo Zhonglin are Huo Qihang’s sons?"

"I’d say there’s an eighty to ninety percent chance," Gu Junzhu said. "But there are always accidents in everything, so we can’t rule out other possibilities... Anyway, I’ve already had Xiao Gu Qi look into it. We should have results soon."
