Chapter 628: Chapter 35: Slaughtering Tribulation Realm Cultivators Like Chickens

Over the vast, boundless Immortal Lake, lights of every color flickered and flared. Spiritual Qi surged like a tide, crashing in like a torrential wave.

The seventeen Tribulation Realm Great Powers from Yuelang Heaven, led by Ye Tuo and Bao Yuan, each unleashed their Magical Artifact Talismans, bearing down with world-devouring force.

Facing this ferocious onslaught, Fang Cheng didn’t retreat. Instead, he advanced, transforming into an ethereal beam of sword light and suddenly charging into their midst!

Taixu Sword Qi pierced through the void, ethereal and traceless, perfectly suited for fighting groups.

All they saw was a blur as a traceless, ethereal stream of Sword Qi rushed in.

Ye Tuo, who was at the very front, had a profound Cultivation. Yet, even he only felt an impossibly fast stream of Sword Qi flash past him, piercing through his five-colored auspicious light and the surrounding Golden Arrows, weaving through them with ease.

A Tribulation Realm Cultivator behind Ye Tuo saw only a blinding flash of sword light. In his daze, he felt a lethal killing intent wash over him.

He hastily withdrew his Divine Technique to defend with all his might, but in the next instant, before he could even register what was happening, his head slid from his neck. His life force had been severed by a single strike.

The few Tribulation Realm Cultivators further back only saw a stream of Sword Qi flash past Ye Tuo. After a few more flickers, one of their own was decapitated. They were horrified.

That man was an expert who had passed the Fourth Celestial Tribulation, yet against this sword light, everything—be it his Protective Spiritual Light or his Divine Talismans—was as useless as paper.

“This person’s Sword Qi is terrifyingly powerful!”

The cultivators couldn’t help but ask themselves: if they had been in that man’s place, could they have blocked that strike?

The conclusion was obvious.

Hesitation flickered across many of their faces. They hadn’t expected their opponent to be so utterly ruthless.

But there was no time for hesitation.

A beautiful Female Cultivator in cloud-like robes suddenly saw the ethereal Sword Qi approaching. She was about to defend herself, but just as she raised her Magical Artifact, the Sword Qi flashed before her eyes, and she was decapitated.

The cultivators beside her were horrified. They scrambled to release their own Magical Artifacts for protection, only to see the stream of Sword Qi gracefully vanish and reappear somewhere else.

They looked up just in time to see the ethereal Sword Qi sweep across the sky. Three of their comrades in its path were cut down, their life force extinguished in an instant.

Ye Tuo was furious. Because they had all been focused on a coordinated attack, the situation had changed too suddenly. Many of them didn’t have time to recall their Divine Power Magical Artifacts to defend themselves.

Besides, his opponent’s sword light was too sharp and impossibly fast. Even with the Power of his Divine Sense, he could only vaguely track its movements.

What hope did the other cultivators have?

He could only watch helplessly as the sword light slaughtered the cultivators of Yuelang Heaven as if they were chickens. He possessed formidable Divine Techniques, but it was impossible to use them effectively against a single target moving through a crowd of his own allies.

What infuriated him further was that the ethereal Sword Qi darted back and forth, flickering in and out of existence. It avoided the strong and targeted the weak, refusing to engage with him directly.

Aside from himself and Bao Yuan, none of the other cultivators from Yuelang Heaven could withstand even a single one of his strikes.

After just a few passes, the sky was filled with falling limbs and heads. A mist of blood hung in the air. Of the seventeen Tribulation Realm cultivators, only four remained.

Ye Tuo risked taking several of Fang Cheng’s blows to save the other three, and together they fled in disarray.

Fang Cheng retracted his sword light and stood in the sky, watching Ye Tuo’s group flee. He did not give chase.

The man was a disciple of a Spirit Immortal, and his Divine Techniques alone required Fang Cheng’s full concentration. Furthermore, his battle armor was incredibly durable. Even with the Taixu Sword Qi, Fang Cheng doubted he could break it without landing a hundred strikes on the exact same spot.

And a cultivator of Ye Tuo’s caliber would never allow that to happen.

Fang Cheng glanced toward the ruined giant ship. The cultivator with the surname Li was long gone.

Although Fang Cheng had been keeping an eye on the man during the fight, he still hadn’t noticed how he had left.

Compared to Ye Tuo, this man made him far more uneasy.

He landed on the dilapidated ship and saw a water mirror, about ten feet across, hovering silently in the air. On its surface was a clear, bird’s-eye view of the Immortal Lake.

Fang Cheng’s eyebrow twitched as realization dawned. ‘So that’s how the cultivators from Yuelang Heaven found me so accurately.’

He released a surge of Magical Power to envelop the water mirror, intending to refine it for himself. Suddenly, a cold, angry snort echoed from the void, and the mirror shattered.

Fang Cheng looked up and saw a streak of light flash and vanish in the highest reaches of the sky.

‘A Spirit Immortal Incarnation…’

A grave expression appeared on his face.

In that fleeting glimpse through the water mirror, he had managed to get a look at the situation within the peach grove.

…

Fang Cheng flew out from the area of the Immortal Lake and entered a peach grove, where the Spiritual Pressure from the Immortal Mansion grew even stronger.

Dao Patterns flowed across his body, and his nine great Thunder Pools boiled. Within them, vast and surging tides of Primordial Heavenly Demon Qi roiled, transforming into pure, tyrannical Magical Power to resist the Spiritual Pressure of the Immortal Mansion.

Thanks to the Spirit Immortal Head he had refined, Fang Cheng was still able to fly into the peach grove with ease.

The peach leaves in the grove were easily a thousand feet wide, blotting out the sun and sky. A cool, verdant scent assailed him. The deeper he flew into the grove, the darker it became.

Fang Cheng could clearly sense the immense Immortal Spirit Qi emanating from the peach trees, but unfortunately, he saw no immortal peaches.

From his fleeting glimpse in the water mirror, he knew that in the entire grove, only nine peach trees shone with a brilliant light, shrouded in a radiant mist.

If there were any immortal peaches to be found, they would be on those nine trees.

He flew toward the nearest of the special trees. Before long, the shocking sound of a spiritual explosion echoed from up ahead. It seemed someone was fighting.

Curious, he flew closer. He saw a unique peach tree standing amidst the others, its entire form emitting a brilliant, rosy glow. The trunk looked as if it were carved from colored glaze and fine jade, while its countless leaves and blossoms radiated a surging, dense wave of Immortal Spirit Qi.

Amidst its dense canopy hung a gigantic immortal peach, the size of a small mountain. A brilliant spiritual light shone from its surface, and within its flesh, countless profound runes swam and flickered in and out of existence.
