Having come to the decision on contacting the Star Shattering Sect for the purpose of engaging in trade and hopefully obtaining the opportunity to trade for at least some of the dao rune blueprints in their control, the shadowy group quickly left Bright Stone City and gathered together in a small mortal city a short distance away from the Shattered Star Peaks. Removing the cloaks covering their bodies before contacting their superiors. After all, even if they had already decided to go ahead with the next step and contact the Star Shattering Sect, it wasn’t something they could do without prior approval.

At the very least, they had to information those above them about the situation before they went on ahead. Especially so because they wouldn’t be the ones to do the final trade with the Star Shattering Sect but were merely there to establish a connection and potentially lay down the groundwork for a future trade between the two sides...

Disconnecting the communication crystal that had been used for long distance transmission to reach all the way back to the Southern Central Region, the leader of the group couldn’t help letting out a quiet sigh of relief as he stared at the now quiet communication crystal. Having learnt far more than what he had expected to from the conversation just now.

But more importantly than that, he had now gotten the approval he needed to approach the Star Shattering Sect in an official capacity as an envoy.

"Hopefully the Star Shattering Sect will be easy to talk with compared to that Eternal Coffin Sect..." Muttering this to himself as he gazed off in the direction of the Shattered Star Peaks, the leading member of this little delegation couldn’t help remembering another ancient hidden sect that a group not much different from theirs had been assigned to investigate.

Of course, different from how smoothly everything had been going for them, this group hadn’t fared well...

In a way, a sect like the Star Shattering Sect that remained open to some extent was rare, but not that surprising given the main purpose of the Star Shattering Sect surfacing having nothing to do with a lack of cultivation resources but instead to do with a need to recruit new disciples to fill the ranks.

If they ended up laying down a deadly killing formation, it would destroy the purpose of them revealing themselves to the outside world, as it would become far more difficult to recruit disciples.

Of course, they could always just fly out of the sect and find disciples on their own, but that was far more difficult compared to just having those disciples come to them. Not to mention, for an ancient hidden sect like the Star Shattering Sect, he guessed that they weren’t worried about any potential danger that might come from those eager to seize their inheritance like somewhat weaker ancient hidden sects did.

After all, fearsome as hidden ancient sects were, there were plenty willing to risk their lives in a last desperate attempt to seize the inheritance of these ancient hidden sects. Especially those Star Creation Realm cultivators who realized it would be impossible to carve the last few dao runes into their dao lotus in time and began looking everywhere for ways to shorten the duration it would take them to carve those dao runes.

And while strengthening the internal world remained a good option, the most effective was undoubtedly a dao rune blueprint, as a high quality one could shorten the carving time hundreds of times over.

Shaking his head as he thought about all this, the now leading envoy called over the rest of the group who had gone to rest elsewhere while waiting for him to finish his conversation. Not wasting any time after everyone was gathered up before they moved up in the direction of Falling Star City, the secondary city that had been constructed by the Star Shattering Sect and at the same time also the main city they used to interact with the outside world.

Although he had originally wanted to go there in the first place to investigate the Star Shattering Sect, even if it was somewhat harder to sneak inside while remaining hidden, they had collectively ended up deciding on Bright Stone City after learning about how it was a place often visited by the sect’s younger disciples.

Not that there wouldn’t be any younger disciples within Falling Star City, just that this city was bound to have several powerful elders of the Star Shattering Sect hidden away within it. Meaning that any probing questions they asked were likely to get picked up and seen through by those elders.

In the end, this had ended up being the correct choice, as they accomplished the goal of investigating the Star Shattering Sect without any issues and could now enter Falling Star City without having to worry about keeping themselves hidden in the process.

Entering as envoys, they would also be able to take the opportunity to tour the city without any worries before making their way towards the sect gate. Taking the chance to gather whatever little bit of information they could before they had to talk with the elders of the Star Shattering Sect that they hoped they would be able to meet.
