Creepy Pharmacist: All my patients are scary!
Chapter 773: You Were Fortunate to Fall into Hell
With focused expression and furrowed brows, Lynn no longer hesitated. He crouched on the table, gripping the quill, and with careful deliberation, began writing on the blank chapters of the book.
This time, the quill was very cooperative. In the past, there was no way Lynn could have personally held this quill to write.
He followed his memories, filling in the events that had occurred while he was unconscious, word by word. From the moment he lost consciousness, to the unfolding of the massive purple magic circle, to the descent of that screen of light and the wound on the God of All Machines' neck.
These were events that even he found utterly baffling. He himself couldn't understand why a mere human like him could harbor such vast, mysterious, and awe-inspiring power within his body.
Soon, the first blank chapter was completed.
Without wasting any time, Lynn quickly flipped to the next chapter and wrote the story of his and the Colossus's Brain's charge into Hell's Borderlands in the same manner.
Lynn also noticed that these missing crucial chapters of the story all corresponded to periods when that mysterious power had erupted.
This inevitably raised doubts and suspicion.
Because seeing this, Lynn had already realized that this quill and book might not be writing his destiny, but rather observing and recording in some sense. But if it was observation and recording, why couldn't it record the chapters where that mysterious power within him erupted?
This was indeed a question that had to be pondered."Alright! It's complete!"
Writing the final word with the quill, Lynn reproduced that history as concisely as possible, trying not to waste too much time.
And at that very moment, the System's prompt rang in his ears.
[Ding! Congratulations on completing the quest: Completion of the Chapters. You have received the quest reward: Quill's Affinity towards you +30. The quill has decided to provide you with one instance of assistance x1]
Just as the prompt ended, the quill floated out of Lynn's hand without any wind, hovering above the book, as if observing the chapters Lynn had filled in.
Lynn watched it seriously, then slapped a plum blossom paw print down in front of it, saying, "So can you make your move now? I've written those chapters as you requested. If you wait any longer, it'll really be too late!"
But he didn't receive a reply from the quill.
The quill paused.
Then, as if performing some kind of calculation, countless sheets of paper suddenly fluttered out from the books on the surrounding shelves. Under Lynn's astonished gaze, those papers swirled like a cyclone around the entire table, hovering and spinning.
A bottle of ink silently floated over from the bookshelf and landed on the table.
The cap slowly opened.
A thick, bloody scent immediately spread out from that unremarkable ink bottle, accompanied by an unimaginably eerie aura.
Lynn gasped as he felt that aura, his heart pounding like a war drum.
"This is..."
Because that aura felt both familiar and terrifying.
It was like the overwhelming presence the Colossus had emanated during its deified era before being cursed, and it seemed even more dreadful, even more sinister.
This wasn't ink at all!
This was...
Two terrifying words instinctively surfaced in Lynn's mind, but he trembled and couldn't bring himself to say them.
Then, under his gaze, the quill silently dipped into the ink bottle, lightly soaking up a bit. Pitch-black and blood-red "ink" dripped from the nib with a plop, and the heavy smell of blood instantly filled the entire room.
The paper slowly unfurled before her.
The quill, stained with blood, seemed to be performing some kind of deduction and peering.
It hesitated for a moment.
Then, finally, it lowered its tip, and at an extremely slow pace, began to write on the paper with great difficulty.
"Pur..."
"ple..."
"Lo..."
"tos..."
Every single character seemed to bear the weight of a thousand pounds. Lynn could even clearly see the trembling of the quill's tip, and faint black electricity crackling around it.
Lynn even forgot to breathe. For some reason, the light in the room seemed to suddenly dim at that moment. The lamp on the table flickered violently, and a dark, cold aura began to creep slowly across the floor, inch by inch, as if trying to freeze people's bodies solid.
The quill's writing became slower and slower, more and more tremulous.
It was as if she was peering into some kind of hidden secret, trying to deduce and trace back to its source.
But after writing those three characters, she encountered an unprecedented and powerful resistance that prevented her from going further.
Meanwhile, no one noticed that even the oppressive sky outside seemed darker than usual, as if the light itself was being noisily devoured by something.
And finally, in that suffocating atmosphere, the quill trembled and painstakingly began to write a fourth character.
"fa..."
Hmm——
But almost at the very moment she hadn't even finished the fourth character, Lynn suddenly felt an indescribable shudder. The flickering candle on the table was extinguished violently, and the entire room was instantly engulfed in endless darkness. Even his night vision completely failed at that moment, as if all light had been devoured.
And it was in this darkness that Lynn suddenly heard an extremely sharp, piercing scream.
It felt like it would tear your eardrums apart.
In an instant, the darkness dissipated, and his vision returned to normal.
The entire room had undergone a tremendous change. Scarlet blood from some unknown source had stained almost the entire wall. The pages that had been swirling around them had also been reduced to fragments, fluttering down and scattering across the blood-soaked floor, a heavy stench of blood hitting them in the face.
On the desk, the pure white quill's feathers were also stained with fine traces of blood, and upon closer inspection, one could even vaguely see some kind of blackness soaked into the fibers.
Her condition suddenly seemed to become withered and listless.
Lynn was frozen stiff.
Seeing this series of changes, even an idiot could tell that she had just been trying to do something beyond the boundaries, and had suffered a backlash as a result.
"You... are you alright..."
Lynn extended his paw and tentatively poked the wilted quill.
If she kicked the bucket, Lynn was thinking of keeping her as a memento or something...
The quill stirred slightly, and then, as if finally coming to its senses, slowly wrote on the paper. But Lynn could clearly see that compared to before, her condition was now extremely poor.
And in this wilted state, she wrote:
[You must protect yourself. Don't leave this hell easily. Even if you leave, don't stay away for too long. Please, remember my words.]
[Something is searching for you, and something is protecting you.]
[You are fortunate... to have fallen into hell.]
