Creepy Pharmacist: All my patients are scary!
Chapter 769: An Unprecedented Crisis
It was as if she had known they would come, and so she had been waiting here all along.
Although she looked exactly like the Matriarch, she was also completely different. Her body was no longer bound by those cursed chains. Instead, those chains seemed to have become a part of her, able to be controlled at her will.
And there was no doubt about it.
This dark side born from the Matriarch's inner heart was inherently a curse fused with hell itself, and her power would be even more formidable!
Lynn narrowed his eyes, pinching his Monocle as he said:
"You seem to have been waiting for us all along? What? Do you think you can handle all of us with just your own strength?"
He asked probing questions, but his gaze kept sweeping around the surroundings, finally landing on the massive purple-black Magic Circle behind her.
Twelve enormous black wings spread wide.
The pitch-black Fallen Angel floated upward, surging black power causing everyone present to feel wave after wave of bone-chilling cold.
And it was obvious. The Fallen Angel before them now was completely different from the one Lynn had encountered in the Rift in the Cursed City.
Back then, her consciousness had still been in a dazed, not-fully-awakened state. But now, Lynn could clearly see the clarity in her eyes and the frost-like coldness within them.
The Matriarch had not suppressed her!
She had now fully become the dominant consciousness of this body!
The Fallen Angel looked down at Lynn, her face expressionless, neither joy nor sorrow, and her lips parted as she spoke:
"No, I don't need to defeat you."
"The defeats of the God of All Machines and the Flesh and Blood Dominator have indeed proven your strength, but I must tell you that this is hell. Your victory does not mean you get to taste the fruits of victory. On the contrary, you will instead reap even greater consequences because of it."
She suddenly spread her massive black wings wide, her figure lightly retreating backward.
Her bone-white fingers flexed slightly.
"If it weren't for your appearance breaking the balance here, gathering so many fallen ones together and intending to give them hope, then I wouldn't have seen the need to accelerate my own revival."
"But since I've already received the invitation from the Jailers, I'm more than happy to intervene in this matter."
Her fingers lightly traced across her pitch-black lips.
"So this time."
"I will send you all a grand gift."
And almost the moment she finished speaking, the purple-black Magic Circle beneath her feet suddenly blazed with blinding light. A dense, cursed death energy instantly flooded the entire great hall.
Sir Aiwen and the others' faces changed dramatically.
And at the same time.
High above the very center of Nightfall City, a pitch-black stream of light suddenly shot from that High Tower straight into the sky, instantly expanding into a colossal Magic Circle spread across the heavens.
Every single Night Doctor in the entire city was stunned, lifting their heads to gaze toward the sky.
This sudden anomaly had clearly caught everyone off guard.
"What... what is this?!"
"This power seems to be coming from the direction of the Matriarch! Dark Magic?! Are you kidding me! How can there be such a powerful curse fluctuation!"
"Hurry! Go notify the guard brigade! Something's wrong! Something's very wrong!"
The Night Doctors who had just been immersed in the joy of victory were immediately interrupted by this sudden upheaval. Everywhere in the city, people were running and gathering, and it was clear that they too could all sense the severity of the situation.
And in the underground hall.
"Quick—if you don't want every living creature here to be transformed into mad slaves by her—then stop that ritual from descending immediately!"
The Godweaver Head's eyes burned with frenzy as she charged forward at the first moment.
As a powerful existence in the domain of Voodoo, she had been the first to sense the terror of that Magic Circle.
She was...
She was trying to...
And in that instant, the introduction of that Magic Circle flashed before Lynn's eyes.
[Dark Magic: Abyssal Mind]
[Type]: Cursed Ritual
[Introduction]: A powerful Dark Magic ritual from hell, requiring a massive sacrifice of Resentment. It can only be performed in a domain saturated with the aura of curses and Calamity. Once the Magic Circle is completed, it will indiscriminately curse all living creatures within the ritual's range. The corrupting curse will unleash the deepest Malice and Madness within their hearts, causing their minds to completely degenerate. Once the final transformation is complete, the twisted Malice will mutate them into servants of the Fallen Angel, turning them into mindless husks obedient to the curse's caster.
The moment he saw the introduction of that formation, Lynn immediately understood the source of the changes in the two Guards outside the door.
So that's it!
She actually intended, right before their very eyes, in this brief window of their triumphant return, to drag the entire Night Doctor order of Nightfall City into the abyss of this curse all at once!
Truly mad! Truly vicious!
"Stop her!"
Lynn roared, his body explosively retreating.
And almost the moment his words left his mouth, the silver-haired Girl had already narrowed her eyes, crimson light surging across her entire body as she charged first toward the deepest part of the hall.
The Fallen Angel's expression was icy cold, her long hair whipping wildly. The countless chains covered in barbs suddenly twisted like a winding nest of serpents, once again enveloping the great hall and blocking their path forward.
Her slightly mocking voice rang out through the entire hall.
"You're sure to love this gift, aren't you?"
"And I truly do look forward to seeing what kind of expression your Matriarch will wear when she awakens from this body of mine and beholds the Cataclysm across the entire city."
"The ideals she upholds were always a joke, just like your hopes of leaving this hell. Both are so absurd they make one want to laugh."
"I will savor this joy to the fullest."
Within those bone-chilling words was an undisguisable derision and mockery aimed at them.
Lynn knew.
This was perhaps the greatest crisis Nightfall City had ever faced in its history.
"Sir Aiwen, I'm leaving this place to you. You have to buy me time. As long as that ritual hasn't descended yet, we haven't lost!"
And as he spoke.
Lynn transmitted his voice through sound transmission, gritting his teeth as he rushed out of the underground hall at lightning speed.
He didn't explain himself to Sir Aiwen and the others, because there was no time. It was obvious that the Fallen Angel had been prepared for a long time. The only reason she hadn't made her move against all of Nightfall City before they arrived was so that she could do it right in front of them, making them watch this calamity unfold with their own eyes!
She was savoring this madness and torment.
And he was also perfectly aware that under the current circumstances, even if he awakened Big Brother Titan, it would be absolutely impossible to stop this curse from descending.
But there was still one way!
It was also the only possibility he could think of that might delay the ritual's descent!
