Creepy Pharmacist: All my patients are scary!
Chapter 750: Even if the Sky Falls, She Would Follow Her Master
Watching her back.
Watching the direction she was running toward with all her might, watching the family and companions waiting for her at the end of that path.
His eyes were filled with tenderness.
Though he was still reluctant to part.
Though he also very much wished he could go with her to find their lost father and mother.
But in the end, there was always a time for farewells...
Yet his heart was truly happy.
From the moment he fell until now, he had never felt as joyful as this moment, nor had he ever thought he could see his former family one more time.
So he was truly happy to hear you call him big brother, to have you search for him for so long, and to still be willing to give such comfort to that wretched kid who always used to bully you.
He raised his head, and in his gaze reflected the figure of Lynn at the end of that direction.Their eyes met.
He saw those eyes staring fixedly at him.
He seemed to finally remember how to smile, and a clear, relieved smile appeared on his face.
He reached out his hand.
It was like when he was that age, meeting a companion his own age, and they would always greet each other with a heavy fist bump.
A sign of recognition and friendship.
Lynn's face also lifted into a smirk. He adjusted his Monocle and, like the young man, reached out his hand, grasping the air in a phantom handshake.
Perhaps they were strangers.
Perhaps they would never see each other again.
But just like the most ordinary young men, a single glance, an introduction, and they could become good friends, with no reason needed.
No reason...
Lynn's extended fist froze in place.
As if time itself had stopped, it hung there, then slowly relaxed, before clenching tightly again with a tremor.
In the distant sky.
Black specks of light, like burning embers, slowly peeled away from the young man's body. They were like countless fireflies in the pitch-black night, scattering with the wind amidst his smile.
His eyes reflected that outstretched hand.
He stood there for a long, long time.
That crystalline, fish-like stone, shimmering with a faint light, streaked across the night sky and landed heavily at his feet.
He saw Miaomiao, sobbing uncontrollably as she ran toward him.
It was like a silent shout.
A smiling acknowledgment and a final entrustment.
"Please take good care of our silly cat, I beg you. You are more suited to being her big brother than I am."
"And thank you for giving me this chance. Thank you for every bit of your help. You are the best person I have ever met in this hell."
"So I was thinking, if we weren't in hell, we probably could have become really good friends too."
"So... truly... thank you..."
"My friend..."
Lynn lowered his head and picked up that crystalline stone.
He saw Miaomiao, sobbing, running towards him from a distance with all her strength, completely unaware of the young man behind her who was dissipating with the wind.
She desperately reached out her claw to grab the stone in his hand, her eyes full of tears as she wanted to turn around. But Lynn held her tightly, refusing to let go no matter how much she cried, scratched, or struggled. He just bowed his head and held her in a death grip.
But of course, she knew.
She was crying, her whole body trembling as she clutched that crystalline stone, letting her master hold her tight.
He was lying.
He had never told the truth.
He just wanted to send her away, so he could quietly leave by himself.
He couldn't bear goodbyes. Just like when he would go on a one or two-month holiday, he would often slip away by himself, never letting anyone see him off.
He said that if one day he got a serious illness and was really going to die, he would never tell anyone. He would dig himself a grave in the suburbs, lie down in it, and end it all, letting no one know.
He said that Mother would definitely nag him endlessly, Father would definitely scold him with a stern face, and even this silly cat of his would meow and fuss non-stop.
He couldn't stand any of that.
He just wanted to die alone, and he wouldn't even let his own cat see him off!
"Liar!"
Miaomiao hugged that stone tightly, sobbing and screaming with a cracking voice.
"Big liar!"
She finally broke down completely, crying her heart out. Under the silent black mist, the young man's figure finally vanished completely amidst specks of fading light.
Lynn raised his head, and the system prompt finally echoed in his ears.
[Ding! Miaomiao's commission quest for you has been updated. You have received a phased quest reward: base experience points x1w, Black Skull Coins x5, special reward: Echoes of the Past: enhancement scroll x1.]
And with the end of the prompt, the column for Miaomiao's brother in that series of quests turned gray.
Lynn took a deep breath.
This meant that, in Miaomiao's questline, her brother's chapter was over.
But for him...
Death.
It was indeed the best outcome.
Because rather than staying in this hell and turning into a maddened evil ghost, death was the release that so many beings dreamed of.
The Godweaver Head slowly moved to his side, looking at his silent expression, and said:
"Don't grieve for him. You should be able to see that the effect of your Echoes of the Past hasn't ended yet. He was able to leave because he resolved his obsession and dispelled his hatred. There's nothing left for him to hold on to."
"And among the evil ghosts in this hell, how many can truly let go of their obsessions and hatred?"
Lynn raised his head, holding the crying Miaomiao close, and said:
"Yeah."
Perhaps his only lingering wish that had not been completely erased was just to see his family one more time.
And now...
His wish had been fulfilled.
But what about himself?
When would he ever be able to see his own family again...
...
After the young man's soul had completely dissipated along with his body, the countless twisted evil spirits that had been dwelling within him fled in all directions.
Lynn didn't bother with them. After comforting Miaomiao,
Lynn personally built a grave for him on this wasteland.
Perhaps no one would remember.
But at least, here, there was once a person who left his mark in this hell.
Lynn helped Miaomiao, who was kneeling silently in front of the grave, to her feet. He patted her shoulder comfortingly, picked her up, and said:
"Your brother is gone, but your master is still here with you. Don't worry, I keep my word. As long as your master is alive, I will definitely find your mother for you."
Miaomiao turned her head, her eyes slightly red as she looked at Lynn.
She said nothing.
Instead, she buried her head in the crook of his shoulder and hugged his neck tightly.
Yes.
She had always believed in that.
Her master was the best person in this world, and her master would be hers forever. She would carry her brother's share and stay by her master's side forever. Even if the sky fell, she would absolutely stand by her master's side, without taking a single step away.
She swore it.
