Claimed by the Mad Lycan King
Chapter 165: SHIP HER AWAY
Only within two weeks, things changed drastically. The monarch of this country had created a national team to chase down the shifters, whom they called monsters.
These involved thousands of military personnel and policemen, as well as hundreds of researchers, as they were trying to figure out how a human could turn into an animal.
The name they chose for them was Animagus. They took it from old lore, a myth about a werewolf—a human who can shift into their wolf form.
A month ago, they thought it was only a myth, a bedtime story, but now those creatures apparently had been living among them.
Of course, this shocking news reminded them of the massive number of wolves who suddenly appeared and disappeared not so long ago.
Discussions surrounding this topic filled the media and internet. A lot of forums opened up with the question, ’What are they?’
Their first order was to capture them alive.
Researchers used a massive building as the base for them to figure out what a werewolf was. It became the heart of the command of the Animagus operation, and it was under the leadership of Jack Blackwood from the military personnel and Owen Brooks from the police department.
The two of them were the vital figures right now, as they controlled the nationwide security.
"Damn that guy," Zephyr grumbled, watching the television while Seara was sitting next to him. Ever since the incident at the hospital, the gamma had been severely punished for leaving Seara while he was supposed to keep his eyes on her.
In his defense, he only stepped out for less than ten minutes to get a coffee with Leia, and there were four other warriors there, not to mention several more warriors around the building.
But of course, Zephyr wouldn’t argue, since he knew he had messed up and things could get worse if something unthinkable happened to Seara. They were going to lose Zade too.
"I don’t even need your power to know that man is the new host for Leviathan." Zephyr pointed his finger at Owen, who had just left the press conference, with the reporters chasing him down with a lot of questions.
Currently, they were in one of the houses that belonged to Zade, but it was not registered under his name. It was a good thing that he had a lot of properties and kept track of most of them. Not even Zephyr and Ace knew about it.
However, Zade simply said there was one point in his life when he didn’t know what to do, and he spent his time buying a few properties to pass the time.
Seara was amazed and realized how bored Zade was with his life.
"Yes. I think so." Seara fidgeted with her fingers, and Zephyr saw that; he grabbed her hand and squeezed it lightly.
"Don’t worry, they will not hurt you."
"There are a lot of things that you can do without hurting you physically, but it is painful too."
"In that case, I will say that Zade will be there too, and you only need to look as arrogant as him; then you will be fine."
Seara laughed when she heard that, and Little Paw lifted his head from her lap to check what was going on.
"You mean I have to stay still like this?" Seara made an angry face, but Zephyr grimaced.
"To be honest, don’t do that. You look like you have constipation."
"How dare you!" Seara ordered Little Paw to attack the gamma, and the wolf did it.
Even when the residence went down and the police swarmed the area, the warriors stayed to guard the place. However, once the announcement about the monster received nationwide attention, all of them received an order to escape, and they did. Within less than ten minutes, the residence was abandoned.
However, Little Paw was the only wild wolf who followed them and refused to leave while Reaper and the other wolves went deeper into the forest. Thankfully, the leader of the wild wolves had fully recovered by the time things went south.
"Okay, okay, enough of that!"
Zephyr was unharmed, but it couldn’t be said the same of his shirt. The wolf bit and clawed at it, causing the fabric to be torn.
Meanwhile, outside, they could hear the sound of the wave crashing against the shore and the cliff.
Out of all the houses, Zade took them to the southern part of his territory, away from the city lights. He was strongly suspected of being an Animagus, as were all the people in the school building where they were found during the wolf attack and ’saved’ by a few police officers.
Even so, without that too, Zade and the other two Lycan kings would have to watch their backs because the devil was the leader of the shifter hunt.
"Seara," Zade called his mate from the door. "It’s time."
Seara and Zephyr didn’t realize Zade was there. The gamma managed to make her less nervous with his silly act.
But when Seara saw Zade, the tension returned. It was not because she didn’t like to see him, but because she knew what would follow after this.
"Come on." Zade stretched out his hand toward Seara, calling her over.
Reluctantly, Seara stood up. She caressed Little Paw’s head and kissed his muzzle before she approached Zade.
If she could, she wanted to skip this, but Zade had emphasized that if she wanted to stay and help him, then she should help him as his mate, which meant stepping into her role as the queen of the Shadow Blood Lycan Kingdom.
"Your hand is cold," Zade stated, and Seara knew it was true. "Do you not want to go?"
"Will you let me stay even if I don’t face them?" Seara bit her lip nervously.
"No, why do you think I chose the house near the sea?"
Seara widened her eyes in shock. "So, you can ship me away?"
"Exactly."
