Chapter 163: THE PROOF THEY NEED
A woman sprayed a large bottle of gas that she got from the car near her, and a man stabbed the gas door with a spear, causing the gas to leak. He then lit a fire, which burned him as well.
Despite the fire, Kayden kept driving his car to ram the two cars blocking their path, as that was their only way out.
"Kayden, what are you doing? The car will explode." Jeremy looked at the back part of the car that was on fire.
"Don’t worry, trust me," Kayden said. "I know what I am doing."
"I trust you, Kayden, but I still worry." Jeremy had his hand on the handle of the car, ready to jump from there.
Jared told the others to move back, but even that was not an option because there were so many people who had been waiting for them there.
"Push back! Kayden lost his mind!" Jared growled. He didn’t know what was in his mind. He tried to reach him through mindlink, but his focus was somewhere else, so he couldn’t get an answer about what his plan was.
Jared and the others managed to get out of the way. Kayden stepped on the accelerator as the cars collided, causing the car to swerve toward the people gathered around them.
Some of them were burned, some were trapped under the cars, and others escaped from the disaster.
"Get out, get out!" Kayden said to Jeremy as they got out of the car.
The car didn’t explode, but the smoke triggered the fire alarm and the sprinklers.
"I just washed my hair," Chloe said unhappily as the sprinklers drenched her. Her hair was soaked, she looked so messy, and she was barefoot.
"Over here!" Jared pulled them back to reality and told them to move toward the other warriors, who had created an escape for them.
"She is injured; we need to get her treated," Chloe reminded Jared.
"I know, but we can’t go back to the hospital," Jared said.
It was weird because you got injured in the hospital, but you couldn’t get there to get the treatment.
They went out of the parking lot, where many people came over because of the fire. It was not clear whether they were influenced or not, but they wouldn’t be there to figure that out.
"Seara, don’t sleep. Wake up." Jared shook her body lightly as he ran with the others, and some of the warriors were in their wolf forms, running alongside them.
They reached the parking lot outside the hospital, but it took them around ten minutes to get there, and Jared put Seara in the backseat with Chloe.
"Press the wound," Jared instructed Chloe.
"What?! No! No. I don’t want to!" Chloe was panicking; she had never encountered someone who was bleeding profusely like this, and when Jared took her hand to put pressure on Seara, she felt like crying at the squelching sound from the blood and the feeling of Seara’s flesh. "Oh, heaven! I think I will pass out. I feel lightheaded."
Chloe was pale, and thankfully Lidya took over. She was sitting on the other side of Seara while Jared was driving.
"Get inside!" Jared said to Jeremy.
"No, I need to find my mother."
"We will find your mother later! How could you find your mother if you are dead! Didn’t you see what happened a while ago!?" Jared raised his voice, and even though he was a warrior, he was intimidating, to say the least. "Get inside the car. Now! Don’t be reckless! That’s what your mother said!"
Jeremy pressed his lips together, but in the end, he got inside the car, and he took the shotgun seat.
And then they drove away. The other warriors took a different car and followed Jared.
Inside the car, Jeremy kept trying to call his mother or Zephyr, but none of them picked up the phone. It frustrated him.
However, little did they know, someone had been watching them without them knowing it.
"Did you get it?" Lilith asked Maisie, who was standing next to her.
"Of course," Maisie said, waving the phone in front of Lilith. "Good angle, right moment. Perfect."
Lilith took the phone and then checked it herself. A menacing smile curled at the corner of her lips. "Let’s see how people will like it when they learn that they have been living alongside shifters, violent creatures."
Maisie stretched her body and then walked away. "I am hungry. Buy me something for my effort."

Seara was in and out of consciousness; all she could feel was pain, and when she woke up again, she saw Zade was sitting on the edge of her bed, holding her hand. But he didn’t look at her; he stared at their intertwined fingers together.
"Zade...?" Seara felt her throat was so dry that it hurt her to speak.
Zade turned his head quickly to hear his mate’s voice and then kissed her forehead. "You are awake. Do you want to drink?"
Seara nodded weakly. Zade poured her a glass of water and helped her drink after putting a straw in it to make it easier.
Because of the wound on her stomach, she shouldn’t sit down for a while, since it took eleven stitches.
"How are you feeling?" Zade asked. He pressed the button to call for the doctor and the nurse to come over.
"I am fine," Seara said softly. "How are Zephyr and Leia?" She remembered that they were still missing. Jeremy was very agitated because he couldn’t find his mother. None of them knew where they had gone.
"They are fine. They were found at the gas station; they had to hide there because two warriors were under the influence. They attacked them." Zade quickly reminded Seara when she looked shocked. "Seara, they are fine now."
"Why are you here? Where is Ace?" Seara was worried about the people around her. She didn’t want something bad to happen to them.
