Chapter 403: Chapter 233: Lu Fan: Whoever Bullies Jiang Silu Is as Good as Dead

Although Mrs. Wen insisted she would bring Wen Wan back for the blind date,

she couldn’t get away right now, as she still had to take care of her younger children.

Left with no choice, she decided to wait for Wen Wan to cool down. Then, when she came home for the New Year, she would force her to go on the blind date.

That way, she could force her hand.

Then she wouldn’t have to worry about her daughter refusing to marry.

But her grandfather had already prepared for this, having spoken with Wen Wan beforehand.

He told her not to come back, to avoid being threatened by her mother.

And so, the days gradually became peaceful and quiet again.

Although Wen Wan wasn’t sure what to do about the future,

at least for now, she had Jiang Sifan by her side.

His presence made her feel very secure.

「At the same time.」

On the food street behind Jinling University, eight o’clock at night was the liveliest time.

The smoke from grilled skewers mingled with the sweet scent of milk tea, wafting through the entire street.

Jiang Silu and her roommates had just left the library. The four of them strolled along the side of the street, discussing what to eat.

Lu Yao pointed to a grilled squid stall up ahead and exclaimed excitedly, "Silu! Silu! Let’s get that! I haven’t been able to forget it since we had it last time."

Song Miaomiao smiled and nodded. "I want some too."

Liu Shiting glanced at the long line, frowned, and said, "There are too many people. Let’s pick another place."

As the four of them were talking, a black BMW pulled over to the side of the road, and the window slowly rolled down.

A guy wearing trendy brands leaned his head out. He had on sunglasses, his hair was slicked back with grease, and he whistled at them.

"Hey, beautiful. Waiting for someone?" He took off his sunglasses, his gaze fixed directly on Jiang Silu. He looked her up and down with a smile playing on his lips.

Jiang Silu frowned. Ignoring him, she pulled Lu Yao and continued walking.

But the guy was persistent. He pushed the door open, got out of the car, and followed them, grinning. "Hey, don’t go. Let’s get to know each other. My name’s Zhao Tianyu, from the Electronics department. What’s your major? Can I add you on WhatsApp?"

Lu Yao turned and glared at him. "Can’t you tell she doesn’t want to talk to you?"

Zhao Tianyu didn’t get angry, still grinning. "I just want to be friends, that’s all."

Jiang Silu stopped, turned to look at him, and said calmly, "Sorry, I’m not looking to make new friends."

Zhao Tianyu was taken aback for a moment, then he chuckled. "Alright, alright, I won’t bother you. But you really are beautiful. I’m telling the truth."

With that, he turned and got back in his car, but his eyes remained fixed on Jiang Silu’s back as she walked away.

Lu Yao pulled Jiang Silu along at a quick pace, muttering, "What kind of person is that? Does he think he’s all that just because he drives a BMW? His pickup lines are so lame."

"He seems pretty persistent," Song Miaomiao said quietly.

Liu Shiting, however, was calm. "I’ve seen plenty of guys like him. Just ignore him and he’ll go away."

Jiang Silu didn’t say anything, but she felt a little uncomfortable.

That feeling of being watched and sized up was like having something sticky stuck to her.

Back at the dorm, Jiang Silu got out of the shower and glanced at her phone.

There was a WhatsApp friend request. The note read: [Hello, I’m Zhao Tianyu from the Electronics department. I’m adding you from our encounter on the food street.]

Jiang Silu frowned and hit decline.

Less than two minutes later, another request came in: [Don’t reject me. I just want to get to know you. Give me a chance?]

Jiang Silu hit decline again.

When the third request arrived, the note had changed: [It won’t kill you to add me. I’m serious.]

Jiang Silu sighed, declined it once more, then set her phone aside and started working on her design sketches.

Lu Yao leaned over, glanced at her phone, and asked, "Is that guy trying to add you again?"

Jiang Silu nodded.

Lu Yao got worked up and started cursing, "Don’t you dare add him. You can tell just by looking at him that he’s bad news."

"I didn’t," Jiang Silu said with a small smile.

The next day at noon, Lu Yao was scrolling through her phone when she suddenly shrieked.

"Silu! Look at this!" she said, shoving the phone in front of Jiang Silu.

On the screen was the Jinling University "Confession Wall," and the latest post read: [Hey Wall, I’m looking for info on this little fairy! I saw her on the food street behind the back gate yesterday and it was love at first sight! If anyone knows her, please send me her WhatsApp. There’s a 500 yuan reward, and I’m a man of my word!]

Attached was a candid photo showing Jiang Silu’s profile as she stood on the food street.

The light hit her face, making it look soft and beautiful.

There were already dozens of comments.

"Isn’t that Jiang Silu from the Landscape Architecture department?"

"The freshman?"

"Doesn’t she have a boyfriend?"

"I don’t know, but she’s really pretty."

"500 yuan just for her contact info? This guy must be loaded."

Jiang Silu stared at the photo, her face flushing red—not from shyness, but from anger.

Lu Yao was furious and started typing out a comment, but Liu Shiting stopped her. "Don’t be rash. You’ll just make a bigger scene."

Song Miaomiao was anxious. "Then what should we do? We can’t just let him leave it up there, can we?"

Jiang Silu picked up her phone, found the Confession Wall’s account, and was about to send a private message when she suddenly received another WhatsApp friend request.

The note read: [This is Zhao Tianyu. I posted the photo. Add me, and I’ll delete it immediately.]

After a moment’s hesitation, Jiang Silu finally hit accept.

The other party quickly sent a message.

Zhao Tianyu: [You finally accepted. Hello, I’m Zhao Tianyu, a sophomore in the Electronics department.]

Jiang Silu stared at the screen, her fingers pausing over the keyboard for a moment before she typed her reply.

Jiang Silu: [Hello, please delete the photo from the Confession Wall. I don’t like being put on display like that.]

Zhao Tianyu: [Okay, I’ll delete it now. But don’t be mad, I just really think you’re beautiful. It was a spur-of-the-moment thing.]

Jiang Silu: [I don’t need your compliments. Thanks. Let’s leave it at that.]

Zhao Tianyu: [Hey, don’t be so quick to leave. I’ll delete the photo, sure, but can we be friends first? I won’t bother you, we can just chat occasionally.]
