Chapter 385: Chapter 227: Gifting Yixia Yangcheng’s Most Expensive Villa Complex! Silu and Sifan Will Have One Too

The floor-to-ceiling windows looked out onto Crescent Lake. Egrets flew over the water’s surface, their wings shimmering in the sunlight.

The second floor had three bedrooms. The master bedroom faced south and had a large terrace that overlooked the entire lake.

On the terrace were two lounge chairs with a small round table between them. On the table sat a pot of jasmine flowers—small, white, and faintly fragrant.

Lu Fan stood on the terrace, gazing at the distant lake. A cool breeze blew in from the water.

He smiled and said to Manager Sun, "This is the one."

Manager Sun was stunned for a moment, then his face blossomed into a wide grin, his voice trembling slightly. "Yes, yes, President Lu! This villa is in the best location in all of Jade Bay. It’s the only one in the entire community on the lake’s central island, offering excellent privacy and the best views..."

Lu Fan cut him off, his tone flat. "Paying in full."

Manager Sun’s hand trembled, and he nearly dropped the folder he was holding.

In full?!

The listed price for this villa was 145 million.

He had been in real estate for many years. He’d seen rich people, but he’d never seen someone *this* rich.

"O-Okay, President Lu. I’ll go handle the paperwork right away," he said, swallowing hard, his voice trembling.

As he turned, his legs felt a bit weak, and he nearly missed a step on the stairs.

He glanced back at Lu Fan, who was still standing on the terrace, looking out at the lake as the wind lifted a corner of his jacket.

Manager Sun thought to himself, ’Just who is this guy? A 145 million house, and he didn’t even bat an eye. Said he’d pay in full, too.’

He hurried downstairs, where a dozen or so property consultants were waiting by the door, staring at him expectantly.

He took a deep breath and said in a hushed voice, "It’s a done deal. Paying in full."

A series of suppressed gasps rippled through the crowd.

Someone covered their mouth, another’s eyes went wide, and someone else’s face flushed with excitement.

Closing this one deal would blow their entire team’s monthly quota out of the water. Their commissions would be insane.

Manager Sun composed himself, though his voice still trembled. "Don’t just stand there gawking. Go prepare the contract."

By the time Lu Fan came downstairs, Jiali had already sorted out the contract details with Manager Sun.

He walked to the door, glanced back at the osmanthus tree in the courtyard, and said to Jiali, "Let me know when the paperwork is done."

"Yes, Boss," Jiali nodded.

...

That afternoon, Lu Fan arrived at the entrance of Donghua Hospital.

He got out of the car carrying two bags of fruit—one for Pan Lanfang and one for Jiang Guoqiang.

’No matter how rich I am, I should still try to be as down-to-earth as possible when visiting the two elders.’

’That’s why choosing two bags of the best seasonal fruit is the most practical option.’

He went upstairs, and when he pushed open the door to the hospital room, Pan Lanfang was propped up in bed looking at her phone, while Jiang Guoqiang was dozing on the sofa.

"Xiaolu, you’re here?" Pan Lanfang’s face lit up when she saw him. She quickly sat up and beckoned him over.

Lu Fan placed the fruit on the table, sat down by the bed, and said with a smile, "Auntie, you’re looking much better today."

"Much, much better. I can almost get out of bed and walk around. Your uncle was just wondering about you, saying, ’How come Xiaolu isn’t here today?’" Pan Lanfang said, taking his hand and looking him up and down, her expression growing more and more pleased.

Jiang Guoqiang was woken by the noise. He rubbed his eyes, and a smile spread across his face when he saw Lu Fan. "Xiaolu, you’re here? Sit, sit."

"Auntie, where’s Yixia?" Lu Fan asked Pan Lanfang as he sat down by the bed.

Pan Lanfang explained, "She went back to the flower shop to get something. She’ll be back in a bit. Have you had dinner? When she gets back, we’ll have her make you something to eat."

"Not yet. I can wait for her to get back," Lu Fan replied with a smile.

Pan Lanfang nodded, then suddenly leaned in and lowered her voice. "Xiaolu, there’s something I want to tell you."

"Go on," Lu Fan said. Seeing her secretive expression, he leaned in a little closer too.

Pan Lanfang sighed, a hint of heartache in her voice. "That child, Yixia, has had such a hard life. Her ex, the biological father of Silu and Sifan, was a real asshole. He hurt her badly back then. She raised two children all by herself, suffering so much hardship. All these years, she’s shouldered it all alone and never said a word to us."

"Xiaolu, I’m not telling you this to make you pity her. I just hope you’ll be good to her. She’s tough on the outside but soft on the inside. If you treat her well, she’ll remember it all. Don’t mind that she seems cold to you now. The truth is, she has feelings for you," she said, pausing as her eyes grew a little red.

Lu Fan listened, a mixture of complicated feelings swirling inside him.

He opened his mouth to say something, but then swallowed his words.

’What could I say?’

’That I’m that asshole?’

’That Silu and Sifan are my own children?’

All he could do was nod and say with an awkward smile, "Auntie, please don’t worry. I’ll be good to her."

Pan Lanfang nodded in satisfaction, patting his hand as she showered him with praise. "The more I see of you, the more I like you. You’re handsome, you speak pleasantly, you’re reliable, you’re good to Yixia, and you’re good to us. If you and Yixia end up together, I’d wake up smiling from my dreams."

"Auntie, please stop praising me. You’re making me blush," Lu Fan said with a laugh.

Pan Lanfang chuckled. "If I praise you, you should just accept it. I’m telling the truth. Oh, and about Yixia’s ex... don’t take it to heart. It’s all in the past. You’re the only one she has in her heart now."

Hearing this only made Lu Fan’s feelings more complicated.

He just nodded and said, "I know."

Jiang Guoqiang chimed in from the side, his tone very serious. "Xiaolu, that child Yixia has been strong-willed since she was little. She’s suffered so much in the past. If you two get together, I believe she’ll finally be happy."

"Uncle, please rest assured. I will definitely treat her well," Lu Fan said, nodding solemnly, his voice sincere.

Pan Lanfang held his hand and continued talking for a while, repeating the same few points over and over.

Yixia has had a hard life; you must treat her well.

Yixia has feelings for you; don’t let her down.

You’re a good kid; I have high hopes for you.

Lu Fan agreed to each point, though inside, he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

’I can’t very well say, "Auntie, I’m the asshole. The man you’re praising is the same one you’re cursing."’

Just as he was talking with the old couple, there were two soft knocks on the hospital room door before it was pushed open.

Chen He walked in, went to Lu Fan’s side, and leaned down to whisper in his ear, "Boss, the Young Master and Young Miss have arrived at the manor."

Lu Fan’s expression faltered for a fraction of a second before returning to normal.

He nodded and said to Chen He, "Got it. Let them rest first. I’ll be back later."

Chen He acknowledged his words and turned to leave.

Pan Lanfang asked curiously, "What is it? Is something wrong?"

Lu Fan smiled and replied, "It’s nothing. We have guests at home. Auntie, I have to go now. I’ll come see you again tomorrow."

"Okay, okay. Go on and take care of your business. Drive safe," Pan Lanfang said quickly.

Lu Fan stood up, said goodbye to Jiang Guoqiang as well, and turned to leave the room.

In the hallway, his pace was a little faster than when he had arrived.

He took out his phone and glanced at it. No new messages.

’Silu and Sifan are at the manor. Silu definitely misses me. Sifan... I don’t know. But I know that the kid going to the manor at all is a good thing.’

He put his phone away and quickened his pace.

The sky outside had already darkened, and the streetlights were turning on one by one.

He got in the car and said to Chen He, "Let’s go. Hurry back to Jinling."

"Yes, Boss."

「Meanwhile.」

「At Zijin Manor.」

Jiang Silu was patiently telling Jiang Sifan, "In a bit, when I call him ’Dad,’ you should call him ’Dad’ too."

With a complicated expression, Jiang Sifan shot her a look, feeling a growing sense of nervousness.
