Evidently my shout out had been effective as the whole auction paused.

Even the outsiders, those not of the high planar galaxies that had been calling out numbers with wild abandon had to take a pause as no matter the location, no matter the currency, a hundred million of that amount wasn’t anything to scoff at.

The voice of Xue Bing confirmed, to Xuan’s horror, the fact that Lucien had indeed called out such an outrageous sum.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That’s my boy!! Good one kid!" I couldn’t help breaking into uncontrollable laughter as I watched the child shut down the entire scene with one call.

"Big brother! What’s a billion?"

"Ack!!" I choked. This kid, "you didn’t know what a billion is?"

"Nuh uh."

"Then why did you call out two billion?"

"It just came to Lucien. Did Lucien do good?"

"Good? You did brilliantly. Those rings are sure to be ours now, ahahahahahahaha!!!"

"My money.... My money... ahh... I can hear my ancestors calling out to me." I ignored the delirious Xuan as I waited comfortably for the hostess to declare our overwhelming victory.

"Please! Please no! I’ll do anything." He begged, desperation clear on his face as he eyed the child trying to free his face from the man’s tight hold.

"Humph... humph." Lucien’s struggles finally made the desperate fellow release his grip slowly, cautiously.

"Anything? Promise?" The little man’s first words surprised me quite a bit as I couldn’t help the curious brow that rose on my face.

"Yes little Lucien, anything. Those rings aren’t worth the amount, how about big brother gives you something better instead?"

"No. No. Lucien knows what he wants, hehehehe..."

"Haa.. then what does little Lucien want in exchange for those rings?"

"Oi! Is this kid... is this kid actually trying to blackmail Xuan into giving him something?" Malachi was stunned.

I had no answers for them as I could only watch on in dumbfounded shock as the little man puffed out his chest, standing on my body like it was private property before very clearly stating his terms.

"Lucien wants a spaceship. A BIIIIG one. One that goes weeeeee!!!! Big brother said Brother Xuan is an empoooror and has a lot of goodies, so Lucien wants a BIGGGG spaceship." The child stated his first terms as all eyes turned towards me in blame.

"Hey! The dude’s an emperor, he’s rich."

"Haa.. fine. A big spaceship. Is that all?"

"Nuh uh! Lucien also wants a.. a.. a.." the kid got stuck on his words as he turned to face me, "big brother, what are those lizards called?"

"Which lizards?"

"The big ones with wings and scales and really big oh and breathe fire and are SUUUPER scary!"

"Yes!! Lucien wants a Dragoooon."

"Oi kid! What are you going to do with a dragon?"

"One wasn’t enough? How the hell are we supposed to handle two? Especially when we can’t even cuss out the mini version?" Paku seemed just about ready to escape the whole room but that wasn’t any of Xuan’s concerns as the man was just trying to get out of the kid’s hands.

"So, a dragon and spaceship. That’s all right? Those things already cost more than those rings."

"Hmm.. Lucien will also need another spaceship."

"Ahhh!! Kid! The hell are you doing with three spaceships?"

"Lucien will ride two and just keep one to look at. Hehehehe... shiny things excite Lucien good."

"We really shouldn’t have let the child get close to you, now look what you did." Even Shaia was blaming me for something I had no part in.

"Fine... now can you put down your bid?" Xuan was visibly deflated after those rounds of negotiations with a toddler.

"Hehehe... mmhmm.." the kid finally sat back down, a happy grin on his face as he was clearly lost in his imagination, maybe playing with his new dragoooon.

"Hah! You got played by a child! So much for an emperor, can’t even beat a toddler at negotiations."

"Dante... I swear, I’ll get you back one of these days."

"Yea, try to survive the rest of the auction first before you give me those words, or did you forget?"

"Ahh..." it finally dawned on the man.

"The auction is just starting, and we’ve got all day to spend as much as we want. I hope you’ve got a lot more bribes where those came from, ahahahahahahaha..."

I laughed, thoroughly delighted at the fact that I get to splurge with none of the consequences as Xuan, for the first time since I met the man,

"Fuck!" Cussed out loud.

Yea, this was already shaping up to be a wonderful day.
