Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension
Chapter 509 - 507:Old acquaintance?
Chapter 509: Chapter 507:Old acquaintance?
Huge.
That was the only word that came to mind as the structure loomed larger with every passing moment, growing more imposing as our vessel drew closer.
"The Treasury Tower, huh? It would seem the Spirit Blossom Court is pulling out all the stops for this auction."
I didn’t bother replying to Xuan. My attention remained fixed on the colossal structure before us, its ivory walls stretched toward the heavens, adorned with sweeping golden roofs and countless jade balconies that glittered beneath the sunlight. Intricate golden runes shimmered across its surface, while pink spiritual mist coiled around its towering spires, their peaks lost somewhere among the clouds.
It had that genuinely tasteful, over-the-top nonsense you would expect from a setting like this.
All around the place, I could see personnel in golden armor radiating powerful auras as they directed traffic around the building perimeter.
"Hmm? Xuan, aren’t those..."
"My imperial guards? Yes. This event is ultimately an event holding within my High Planar Galaxies, so of course I need to ensure that whoever comes behaves accordingly."
"Heh! You know that’s bound to end horribly, right? You can’t possibly expect the massive egos that are bound to arrive here to possibly play nice and listen, right?"
"No, I don’t. But I’ve already arranged countermeasures. Should anyone feel like trying their hands, then we’ll find out clearly today if their power is relevant enough to disregard my authority on my own lands." The man’s aura had once again attained that regality it always did whenever it came to defending his territory and honor.
He was truly a figure that took leadership as seriously as his life, and that was exactly why he was bogged down.
"Alright, if you say so." I shrugged.
Let the man do what he wants, so long as nothing interferes with my auction and splurging spree, then I don’t mind.
"Let’s land; we’ll be going on foot from here." Xuan called out as he directed the vessel to land right outside the doors of the Treasury Tower.
A queue had already formed before the doors as multiple figures stood waiting their turn to get in.
"Well, that’s a sight you don’t see everyday." I couldn’t help muttering in amusement as I felt the auras coming off of the crowd.
Law creation, law manifestation, even a few Law Dominion stage powerhouses that were just now going into the tower, and yet they all stood obediently in line as they waited their turn.
As for the reason for this obedience?
It was none other than the grim-faced man in dark golden armor who stood like a silent sentinel at the side of the gates.
His aura was an all-encompassing weight that spread through the entire region.
No, it wasn’t at the Sovereign stage yet, but it felt like the man already had half a foot into that realm and was merely missing a little push.
"I see why you’re so confident about keeping the order."
"Humph." Xuan huffed, pumping out his chest.
"Hahahaha..." I laughed, amused as I asked the arrogant man, "I wonder what you plan to do about them though, after all, I don’t think your little friend there can contend with them if they do decide to act out." My words deflated the man like a flat balloon as he turned his wry gaze towards the top of the tower.
The Treasury Tower, according to Xuan, was an auction house meant for only the absolute most important events the commerce chamber ever held.
It had only ever been used twice in history, with this being the third time.
Forget VIPs and commoners, because every single soul attending auctions held within the tower was a goddamn VIP.
But even among VIPs, there were still VVIPs, and the tower’s arrangement made that clear.
With the ground floor being the stage upon which the auction shall take place, the tower was built in an ascending manner, with each higher floor housing even more important or powerful figures.
The top floor of the tower allowed not only a wide view of the auction stage but also a clear view of the Myriad Blossom World itself.
It was a floor reserved for the absolute highest of the high. The truly important people. The truly powerful.
And it was this same level that I had pointed out to Xuan as the heavy auras we had felt the moment we arrived within this world were being given off by none other than those who had already taken up residence on the topmost floor of the tower.
Their auras dwarfed whatever anybody on this ground floor could ever imagine.
"I wonder what you’d do if they decide to go have some fun?" I asked once again as I enjoyed the look of absolute helplessness that had appeared on Xuan’s face.
The man couldn’t bring himself to so confidently claim he could handle the situation as easily as he had claimed he could the others.
"Don’t worry, figures like those have better things to do with their time than to mess around in a measly high-level world like this one. Don’t let that bastard get to you."
Sana, oh my beautiful Sana, why do you have to put a wrench in my fun?
I could only level the tower spirit an unamused look as she shrugged and walked forward like she hadn’t just ruined my fun.
"Haa.. let’s just go." I wasn’t about to let a beautiful, stubborn woman ruin this auction for me, so I put aside the matter and followed after the women, pulling Sana’s hand into mine.
If she was going to be an inconvenience, then I was bound to be an even worse one.
"The emperor is approaching, make way for the emperor!" One of the imperial guards caught sight of our approaching group as he called out, forcing the queue to move aside.
I expected our resident etiquette master to go off on the guards about how they were abusing their power, but it seems even she understood that an emperor should definitely have privileges on his land.
"Hoho? A measly emperor from some flimsy galactic cluster believes he can make his way into a building before I, Thrax Main? Should I call you brave, audacious, or foolish?" A cold, mocking voice suddenly halted our steps right before the door’s step as we turned around, finding another group only a few feet behind us.
"Tell me, little emperor, what punishment do you think you deserve for daring such an audacious act? If your answer pleases me, then I might grant you a peaceful and swift death."
My eyes widened in surprise as I laid eyes on the group, disbelief clear not only on my face but on those of my friends as well.
The leading figure, a young man with dazzling blue hair, had his eyes blindfolded as he spoke arrogantly, and right beside him stood a youth with his mouth sewn shut.
"Well, well, well," my disbelief slowly gave way to amusement as I shook my head at the impossible situation I found myself in,
"Would you look what Fated dragged in, heh!"
