CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2730 - 2748: Begging for Forgiveness

  • Next Chapter

"I’m older than little Jane, how am I still a little child?" Amber Edwards was furious, but she still obediently sat back down; after all, her pocket money still depended on someone approving the funds.

"President Edwards, I’m sorry." Emily Lancaster’s scalp tingled, as if all the blood in her body were flowing backward.

Emily took a step back, then slowly knelt down in front of the siblings Amber and her brother.

"President Edwards, Hannah, I’m kneeling to apologize to you. I’m sorry, it’s my fault. Everything about this time is entirely my fault. I’m sorry, I’m begging you to forgive me."

Emily finally stripped away her dignity and pride, trampling her backbone underfoot herself.

"What are you doing!" Amber was shocked. "I never told you to kneel! How can you be like this! What era is this, and you’re still doing the whole kneeling act!"

"Hannah, President Edwards, I’m truly sorry. Could I beg you to speak up for me to Jane Sampson, help me set up a meeting with James Black, and ask him to let me go." Emily looked at the floor clock in the office; it would be twelve o’clock very soon. The time she had left was really running out.

The company’s stock was definitely being influenced from behind the scenes by the Black Family. She had to either gain Jane Sampson’s forgiveness or gain James Black’s forgiveness before the Black Family would stop.

Otherwise, resigning due to errors was truly the only path left for her.

"Miss Lancaster, do you really have to go this far?" Even President Edwards was frightened, hurriedly sidestepping to avoid Emily’s kneel. "I’m very sorry too. I can forgive you, and the Edwards Family can forgive you, but I’m not close with Jane Sampson, and I’m not close with James Black either. On these things, I really can’t help you."

"Hannah can. Hannah and Jane Sampson have such a good relationship." Emily pleaded, looking toward Amber. "I’m begging you to give Jane Sampson a call for me, Hannah, I’m begging you."

"Emily!" Amber immediately drew both legs up onto the sofa. "You’re making things hard for people. If you want to kneel, then kneel all you want. Anyway, I will not make that call for you."

With that, Amber grabbed her mobile phone, climbed directly over the back of the sofa, pulled open the office door, and bolted.

"Hannah!" Emily cried out in Amber’s direction, but Amber ran too fast; in the blink of an eye, she was gone.

Amber slumped down at ground level.

"Miss Lancaster, get up, there’s no need for this." President Edwards said.

"You don’t understand anything. If I weren’t pushed to the limit, how would I have ended up like this? If this matter isn’t resolved before twelve o’clock at noon, I’ll have to resign due to errors and never again be able to hold a position in the company. I studied abroad for many years, I worked so hard to learn so much, not so that later I could marry a man I don’t know and then become just an ornament, a piece of decoration in his house."

"I worked hard to learn since I was a child, not for a Lancaster Family alliance. I don’t want to end up as pitiful a woman as my mom."

Emily’s tears fell one by one like bubbles spilling off a broken string. "Ever since I came back from iInternational, I’ve poured so much thought and energy into the company. I don’t want it all to go to waste, and even more, I don’t want to see that illegitimate offspring openly walk into Lancaster’s wood business in the future and take over the position I hold now."

"I’m sorry, I really can’t help you either. Before you did those things, you should have thought it through. The proposal was Jane Sampson’s idea. You didn’t sign Jane Sampson, yet you took the event proposal she came up with and used it. At that time, you should already have thought of this consequence."
