Chapter 275: It Was As I Lazily Guessed.

Xinolily: “Please do not postpone the wedding because of me.” She pleaded with a remorseful, yet stern tone.

Celia: “It is still on track and time, don’t worry.” She replied with a coaxing tone, patting the girl’s head.

Luckily, the marriages weren’t to be held for a few days, and, if needed, extending the first part of the event isn’t that big of a deal. Our daughter (Celia and her are alone together, in Lily’s room), who is still shaken up about what happened, feels horrible for what she did. However, upon investigating why she became starved, we learned that it truly was not her fault at all.

Rather, the blame lies in…no one, really. The cause is tied to when Home was in the slow process of imploding in on itself; and it wasn’t only the Vampire that was solely affected by it. We all (not counting the beings that Celia had to revive) lost a significant amount of our Hunger Stat. The jury is still out on why this made us hungry, but it doesn’t matter; this event had so much food around. Said food filled us up with ease, you see.

Celia: “As for you specifically, it was as if you hadn’t consumed blood in billions of years. That’s why you ended up so feral.” She explained with a sigh.

Xinolily: “But…what about all the cake that I consumed? Your food has Divinity and Pure Mana in every recipe, so even a few bites is equivalent to thousands of meals…” She expressed with an uncertain thinking pose.

Celia: “Yet, Lily, you’re a Vampire. Standard food can sustain you, but if you don’t get a refill of blood, then you’ll stay starving regardless of how much you eat.” She clarified with a giggle.

Xinolily: “( ’-’ ~)”

Her words made sense, this daughter just hoped that there was a means to blame herself that she was yet to find or think of, even slightly. That didn’t exist though, not at all. At the end of the day, it was an accident; one which none of us knew about until Lily went over the edge of her sanity. Hindsight is a bitch, like me. It’s even worse when you can technically time travel…

Yes, I could now go back in time, and warn our past selves about Xinolily’s dangerous hunger. But where is the integrity in doing that? Unless it is a dead end, someone dies permanently, etc. time travel is just too overkill; especially in situations like this. Lily drank from my wife’s neck for an entire day, she was that starved; although, all is well, so this timeline is fine to go along with.

Xinolily: “Is there…anything that I can do to make up for hurting you, Mom?” She asked with a nervous tone, not able to look at Celia directly.

Celia: “Hm? Oh, of course there is, dear.” She nodded in reply.

Xinolily: “Really?! Just name it, I’ll do anything; even become your lover!” She exclaimed with a bit too much excitement, a path to redemption now open to her.

Celia: “Forgive yourself, that’s all I want.” She answered with a motherly smile and tone, placing a loving kiss on her daughter’s forehead.

Xinolily: “(~OAO)”
