Chapter 274: Cake Is Important, Apparently.

Xinolily: “…”

Vulely: “…”

Celia: “…”

Zia: “…What possessed you to eat all of it, Lily?” She asked with a frustrated tone, rubbing her head.

The wedding (the actual marriage part) was about to get started, so, some of us were going through everything, making sure that all was well with the preparations. It checked out, not a thing out of place or less than perfect; that is…until we go to the ballroom. Setup for this room was finished, millions of cakes, Celia’s making, laid out for all the guests to feast on as they pleased.

Unfortunately, we came upon one of our daughters, who had clearly just completed her destruction of those special treats. Ah, if she were a Mortal without Magic, the evidence of this would be apparent, and she’d have an extended stomach, further proof of her sins. Our clothing is enhanced with Cleaning Magic, which automatically activates; doing it ourselves is annoying, after all. Even still, the culprit kinda has to be the sole other person in the room besides us. We did just arrive in the ballroom…

Xinolily: “…”

Ria: “Lily, this is a very trivial thing, not something to be afraid of our reaction to. At the very least, just please tell us why you ate so much.” She said with a warm, motherly tone, seeing how the girl was yet to respond.

Xinolily: “…”

Ria: “Lily?” She said with a confused tone.

Bite!

Everyone: “( @ A @ )”

Shockingly, this daughter of ours gave a very direct answer to that question. Using the full force of her Status, her thirst too much for the Vampire to stay sane, Lily lunged at Ria, obviously intending to drink her blood. That old fear of ours, the potential that Xinolily would get hungry, and then be extremely dangerous…truly became reality.

Perhaps it is due to us being out of practice for a very, very long time, but it would seem that no one here was able to even see Xinolily move, let alone react in time; she was that fast. Of course, that didn’t include Celia, who stepped in front of her wife, taking the lunge and eventual bite to her neck, Ria not being the Vampire’s victim. A Higher Being of this strength is no joke, Celia even flinched as Lily’s fangs sunk into her flesh. Xinolily was like a rabid animal right now…

Celia: “Status.” She calmly said, gently rubbing the still feeding girl’s head.

Celia: “Lily has quite the strong bite, it would seem.” She expressed with a nonchalant giggle.

Everyone: “…”

Like always, Celia, when hurt by a loved one, downplays their actions. Although, what happened is not Xinolily’s fault, and it isn’t like we now hate her, or anything close to that. She likely became hungry recently, pushed off needing blood until it was too late, and tried to eat the cakes to keep her sanity. That failed, but the effort should be praised, regardless of the outcome.

We’ll have to figure out why she didn’t ask for blood from us, and how come she became this starved in the first place. She shouldn’t have needed blood for a long, long time. Either way, Celia’s reaction is disturbing; lightly laughing after losing nearly half of her HP from one single attack. In this life and timeline…Xinolily is the only being that has ever damaged Celia to this amount…
