Lu Yucai blinked. "Mengxue, you’re not going to..."

Ni Mengxue didn’t answer. Instead, she climbed onto his lap and leaned closer to his face.

"If you dare to stop me tonight, I’ll do exactly what she did in the movie."

She leaned forward and kissed him.

Lu Yucai’s breath hitched. He didn’t push her away.

Not because he was frightened, but because his wife looked far too adorable when she was trying to act domineering.

She tugged on his clothes and started to explore his well-defined torso, straight to his broad shoulder and lean yet muscular arms.

Lu Yucai didn’t hold back; his hands started to tug on her black spaghetti top. When it came off, the strapless bra appeared, holding two milky white balls in his vision.

He almost had a nosebleed at the sight, and his little brother started to swell.

However, just as things were about to go further, Ni Mengxue suddenly froze.

Lu Yucai didn’t notice immediately. He was still looking at her milky-white smooth skin and was about to lean in to bite off her shoulder when she suddenly stopped him.

"Mengxue?"

She quickly straightened her clothes.

Lu Yucai frowned in confusion. Only moments ago, she had been teasing him relentlessly. Now she was suddenly retreating.

He watched her retreat, and his excitement slowly disappeared, replaced by disappointment.

His gaze lowered, and a thought he couldn’t stop slipped into his mind. ’Does she dislike the way I look?’

His fingers tightened slightly. ’Or perhaps... she’s been disgusted by me all along?’

Then again, she might claim that she liked him, but she had only known him for two months.

’How could she possibly love me deeply enough to give herself to me?’

Before Lu Yucai could think any further, Ni Mengxue’s irritated voice suddenly rang out.

"Damn it! Did Aunt Flo really have to come now?"

Lu Yucai looked at her in shock. Then he noticed the red stain on her white, loose-fitting pants.

He immediately understood that she hadn’t been trying to avoid him.

She really had gotten her period.

Without saying anything, Lu Yucai stood up and scooped her into his arms.

Ni Mengxue’s eyes widened in surprise. Her hand instinctively wrapped around his shoulder to keep herself from slipping.

Lu Yucai carried her into one of the nearby rooms.

It was a spacious master bedroom with warm yellow lighting, a large bed, several built-in cupboards, and a walk-in closet.

A small sitting area stood beside the balcony, while the balcony itself appeared to overlook a breathtaking cityscape from the top of a skyscraper.

Ni Mengxue immediately realized that the view was another projection created by the system.

The room also had separate bathroom and toilet areas, along with all the basic amenities one could need.

There were plenty of things Ni Mengxue wanted to explore, but Lu Yucai carefully placed her on the bed.

"Wait here. I’ll go get you some clothes."

Ni Mengxue blinked. "No need. I have sanitary pads."

Lu Yucai remained silent for a few moments before he asked, "Do you have brown sugar?"

Ni Mengxue nodded and took some out of her space.

Lu Yucai accepted it and left.

Ni Mengxue watched him walk away, a complicated feeling rising in her heart.

’Next time, I’ll make sure my period is completely over before I do anything.’

She narrowed her eyes. ’If he dares to run away, then I’ll tie him to the bed and consummate our marriage.’

Just as she was imagining it, she suddenly felt a strange tug from her space.

Ni Mengxue frowned and immediately entered.

Sure enough, the farming spirit was floating in midair, pacing back and forth.

If someone unfamiliar with him had seen the scene, they might have mistaken him for a ghost.

Ni Mengxue stared at him for a moment before commenting, "Old man, are you rushing toward your death?"

The farming spirit immediately stopped when he saw her.

"Good. You’re finally here! I need to discuss something serious with you."

He pointed toward her system panel.

"I saw that you have fifty thousand merit points. You should invest them in agriculture. First, unlock the orchard section, then spices, and finally mushroom cultivation. There are a few more features like..."

Ni Mengxue calmly interrupted him. "Did I ask for your opinion?"

Those words instantly enraged the farming spirit.

His face turned red as he pointed at her, placing his other hand on his waist.

"You ungrateful woman! I’m telling you this for your own benefit, and you aren’t willing to listen!"

Ni Mengxue ignored his complaint. Instead, she narrowed her eyes.

"I keep feeling that you have a strange obsession with farming. Am I overthinking it, or are you actually hiding something?"

The farming spirit froze. It was as if she had stepped directly on a landmine.

Ni Mengxue noticed his reaction. She smiled faintly. "I’m not going to invest all my Merit Points in farming."

The farming spirit immediately exploded.

"You must be kidding! Do you even understand how important food is during an apocalypse? If you don’t prepare enough food for your people soon, your entire base will suffer!"

Ni Mengxue crossed her arms. "On what basis are you reaching that conclusion? Back it up with data."

The farming spirit waved his hand. A blue holographic screen appeared in front of them.

However, unlike the usual system interface filled with text and notifications, this screen was playing a video.

It showed a little boy with brown hair, bright blue eyes, and tanned skin. He was eating a compressed ration biscuit being sold just in Fair Shallow Land.

His clothes were clean and decent, making it obvious that he wasn’t living in extreme poverty.

But the moment he swallowed the biscuit, his face twisted in discomfort. He suddenly bent over and vomited.

Ni Mengxue didn’t comment, but her eyes narrowed, and she started to look at it with more attention.

The video changed, and this time, it showed a man in his early thirties eating another compressed biscuit.
