BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi
Chapter 725: Utter Humiliation
At that moment, a figure emerged upon the prow of the warship — Maha Tian. His expression twisted in fury, eyes locking onto Liu Xi with blazing hatred. Murderous intent surged within them like boiling magma.
Enemies meeting again was always an explosive affair. But while Maha Tian saw Liu Xi as his sworn nemesis, Liu Xi didn't even regard him as worth the title of "enemy."
Defeat in battle, humiliation in love — these had long since shattered Maha Tian's sanity.
Behind him, several powerful auras flared as one figure after another appeared, each radiating the might of a top-tier powerhouse. But among them, the white-robed elder standing beside Maha Tian drew the most attention. His presence was vast and boundless — no weaker than Futu Xuan's had been. Another Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereign.
Yet the old man's expression was far from calm. He had assumed that no matter how strong Liu Xi was, he couldn't possibly transcend the boundaries of a Saint's level. But seeing the reality before him, even he began to waver.
"We meet again," Maha Tian said coldly, his voice like a chill wind from the depths of the abyss. It made one's very soul tremble.
Liu Xi gave him a passing glance — then shifted his gaze to the white-robed elder beside him. Maha Tian was of no consequence, but a Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereign? That warranted at least a second look.
"I wonder who this senior might be?" Liu Xi's tone was calm, his voice echoing across the heavens. "First comes the Grand Elder of the Ancient Buddha Clan, and now another Saint appears. You who hide from the world, seldom showing yourselves — yet today, two of you arrive at once. I truly feel honored."
Though his words spoke of humility, there wasn't the slightest trace of fear in them — only a faint undertone of mockery.
To think that one Immortal Grade expert could draw not one, but two Saints to act against him. In the Great Thousand Worlds, few could boast such a "privilege."
Qing Yanjing stood beside him, anger stirring within her heart. Two ancient clan elders — both Saint Grade powerhouses — ganging up on a single Immortal Grade Heavenly Sovereign. Did they have no shame at all?
Down by the lakeside, Xuan Guang and Mo Tong — who had earlier been stripped of their power — finally dragged themselves ashore. Soaked and furious, they exchanged glances, secretly hoping the Ancient Maha Clan would crush Liu Xi utterly. After all, they were the ones who had leaked word of his location.
Beyond the mountains, countless experts of the Western Heaven Continent hid, afraid to approach yet unable to look away.
A Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereign — an existence that stood atop the Great Thousand Worlds — had come to this small corner of the realm. Fear gripped their hearts, but gossip burned even hotter.
"That's the Ancient Maha Clan! One of the five oldest clans in existence!"
"And that man earlier — the one Liu Xi blew apart — that was the Grand Elder of the Ancient Buddha Clan? A Saint... destroyed?!"
"Hiss— unbelievable!"
"Liu Xi... just how terrifying is he?"
As their murmurs spread, realization dawned, and the crowd collectively gasped. Then came a chorus of disbelief.
"Holy sh*t!"
Shock rippled through the gathered experts — a Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereign, shattered before their very eyes!
Up above, Maha Tian's rage burned so fiercely it nearly consumed him. To be ignored entirely — as if he were an insect — made his blood boil.
But even in his fury, a sliver of reason remained. He wasn't blind. If Liu Xi could annihilate Futu Xuan, then facing him head-on would be suicide.
"Second Elder," Maha Tian said tightly, bowing his head with clenched teeth. "Please."
All eyes turned to the white-robed elder. Even the seasoned warriors aboard the warship felt unease. Facing Liu Xi made their very souls quiver.
The elder took a step forward, hands clasped behind his back, his robes fluttering in the wind. His aura was tranquil yet overwhelming — the bearing of one who stood high above all.
"I am the Second Elder of the Ancient Maha Clan," he declared. "Liu Xi — you injured our Clan Leader without reason and abducted his betrothed. As the Second Elder, I have come to demand an explanation."
He gestured to the battered Futu Xuan floating nearby. "The Ancient Buddha Clan has already agreed to unite with my clan through marriage. Qing Yanjing is to become the future Matriarch of the Maha Clan. By stealing her away, you have brought shame upon both our clans. For that, you will answer!"
His voice rang with righteousness, conveniently omitting the fact that Maha Tian had been the one to provoke the conflict in the first place. Now, he framed Liu Xi as the villain, while invoking the alliance of two great clans to crush him with moral weight.
Then, feigning a sigh, he added, "Futu Xuan merely held back because you are young. But I will not be so lenient. If you know what's good for you, surrender peacefully and come with me to atone for your sins."
Liu Xi laughed. The sound echoed through the heavens like rolling thunder.
"How truly alike you ancient clans are," he said. "So fond of moral grandstanding. You claim righteousness while smothering the truth beneath your pride."
For those who didn't speak reason — only one lesson worked.
The lesson of the fist.
"Grand Elder Futu Xuan," Liu Xi said suddenly, his golden eyes gleaming with mischief, "this 'Second Elder' here claims you spared me earlier because of my youth. Is that so?"
Futu Xuan blinked, confused, his half-formed body trembling as he tried to stabilize his Spiritual Energy.
Liu Xi's grin widened. "Then allow me to see your 'full strength.'"
Boom!
Golden radiance erupted like a sun in midair. Before anyone could react, Liu Xi's fist struck out — dazzling, overwhelming.
The newly-reformed Futu Xuan didn't even finish materializing before his body exploded once more into a swirling nebula of black-and-white Spiritual Energy.
Futu Xuan: "???"
'Why me again?!'
He hadn't even spoken this time!
Humiliation flooded him. His half-restored form disintegrated completely under the impact, scattering into light before the eyes of thousands.
Utterly, completely, irreversibly — humiliated.
The world fell silent for a heartbeat, then erupted in chaos.
A Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereign, obliterated yet again — this time before two clans and countless witnesses!
The shock was absolute. The crowd below gaped in disbelief, their minds blank. Even the Maha Clan warriors felt their throats tighten.
Maha Tian's jaw clenched. His rage and hatred turned to stunned confusion.
"How... how is this possible?!"
The Second Elder's face darkened to an ugly shade of blue. He could feel the sting of that slap — metaphorical, yet resounding.
Liu Xi's golden light flared brighter, his aura surging like a divine tide. The very heavens trembled, Spiritual Energy bowing before him as if acknowledging its master.
Though only an Immortal Grade Heavenly Sovereign, his power and presence eclipsed them all — as though he were the true Saint among them.
He looked upon the gathered clans, his voice calm yet thunderous. "When the guilty seek to condemn the innocent, words mean nothing."
He raised his hand, golden light coiling like dragons around his arm. "If you insist on reason—"
His eyes blazed.
"—then let's see whose fists speak the truth."
