BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi
Chapter 724: The Arrival of Maha Clan
Futu Xuan's vitality was terrifying. Even after being blown apart again and again, he continued to reform — only because Liu Xi hadn't yet bothered to destroy his Divine Soul. Between endless explosions and reconstitution, the elder was trapped in a cycle of humiliation. At first, he burned with rage and shame, fury surging like a tide through his veins. But as the cycle continued, the emotion drained away, leaving only numbness... and fear.
It was not the fear of pain — it was the fear of death itself.
Liu Xi could have ended him at any moment. Yet instead, he chose to toy with him. From the beginning, Liu Xi had found this man unbearable — arrogant, self-righteous, intoxicated by his own status.
High and mighty? Pretending to be infallible? Thinking that being a Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereign gave him the right to act without restraint?
Liu Xi was going to shatter that illusion. To crush not only his body, but his heart of a Saint.
As Futu Xuan continued to be pummeled like a sandbag, six powerful auras arrived. Xuan Guang, Mo Tong, and four other Heavenly Sovereigns descended upon the scene — just in time to witness the spectacle.
Golden radiance flooded the heavens. Liu Xi stood suspended in the sky, his entire body wrapped in dazzling light, the very air trembling beneath his presence. And before him — Futu Xuan, the Grand Elder of the Ancient Buddha Clan, a mid-Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereign — was being tossed about like a mere toy, his body exploding into swirls of black and white Spiritual Energy with every strike.
The six newcomers froze, their minds blank. The Grand Elder... was being beaten senseless.
"G-Grand Elder!"
Their cries were half panic, half disbelief. Yet when Liu Xi's sharp gaze turned toward them, both Xuan Guang and Mo Tong felt their hearts drop. Guilt and terror surged through them — they had reason to fear him.
Liu Xi's faint smile held no warmth. He recognized them at a glance — the same two who had once tried to seize Qing Yanjing, only to flee into a space storm. So they had finally crawled back from the void.
He had been able to crush them years ago. Now, they weren't even worth his attention. Still, he would let Yanjing decide their fate.
For now, they needed to stay quiet.
Golden divine power rippled outward. In an instant, waves of light swept across the sky like a flood of molten mercury, surging into the bodies of the six astonished Sovereigns.
Before they could react, all the Spiritual Energy within their bodies was sealed. Their strength vanished like receding tidewater — and then, like dumplings dropped into a pot, they plummeted straight from the heavens, splashing helplessly into the lake below.
Splash!
They resurfaced, soaked and sputtering, stripped of power. Though their bodies wouldn't die so easily, the humiliation was unbearable.
That was the gift of the Nine-Turn Profound Art after its Third Turn — a divine ability that could seal the power of weaker beings completely.
From the pavilion on the lake, Qing Yanjing merely cast a glance toward the floundering figures before turning her gaze back to the sky. Her eyes held only one person.
Liu Xi.
He hovered amid golden light, his expression playful as he watched the black-and-white Spiritual Energy gather once more. Within it, Futu Xuan's battered form reconstituted again.
"Your Xuan Guang and Mo Tong have arrived," Liu Xi drawled. "I wonder how disappointed they must be, seeing their Grand Elder reduced to this."
Futu Xuan's face was pale, his eyes hollow. His Spiritual Energy surged wildly, out of control. Unless he could stabilize it, he wouldn't even recover to the level of an Immortal Grade Heavenly Sovereign.
"The Ancient Buddha Clan has stood proud for tens of thousands of years," he hissed hoarsely. "It will not fall in my hands!"
Rallying the last of his strength, he flung out his sleeve. A storm of weakened black-and-white energy roared forth, lashing toward Liu Xi with all the power he could muster.
Liu Xi snorted. "Still not crying? Hmph. You've got a hard spine, old man."
Golden light exploded from him. With a casual sweep of his arm, he struck. The golden fist tore through the storm like paper, smashing straight into Futu Xuan's chest.
Boom!
The Saint was once again blown apart into a cloud of black-and-white mist. His Spiritual Energy dispersed, spinning sluggishly in the air, unable to reform. His Divine Soul flickered faintly within the void — one blow away from extinction.
Liu Xi narrowed his eyes. "Want to die? It's not that easy."
Killing was simple. Breaking someone's will — that was an art.
And Liu Xi wasn't done yet.
As he toyed with the half-destroyed Saint, countless auras gathered across the Western Heaven Continent. One after another, powerful experts arrived, drawn by the earth-shaking Spiritual fluctuations.
Then they saw it — and the sight would haunt them forever.
In the sky blazed a figure cloaked in gold, radiating like a war god descending from the heavens. His mere presence distorted the air, his divine might blanketing the land for thousands of miles.
Opposite him floated the fractured remains of a Saint, his black-and-white essence swirling weakly like a broken nebula.
"That's... him," someone whispered hoarsely. "The Demon Slaying King of the Great Thousand Palace... Liu Xi!"
Recognition spread like wildfire. Faces twisted in disbelief, memories flashing of the day he had shaken their continent to its core.
For most, that name was synonymous with pain.
Liu Xi ignored them all. His attention shifted suddenly — to the distant horizon. There, a strange fluctuation pulsed through the void, growing stronger by the second.
Space rippled.
The skies tore open, revealing a massive distortion spanning a thousand meters. From within, waves of spatial energy rippled outward like the surface of disturbed water.
Then, the prow of a warship emerged.
Blood-soaked killing intent flooded the world. One... two... three massive warships broke free from the distortion, their hulls covered in ancient runes that glowed with a sinister crimson hue.
Each ship radiated cold, murderous energy — far more than simple Spiritual Boats. These were weapons of war.
Liu Xi glanced up at them, a faint smile curling his lips. Then he looked back at Futu Xuan and said lightly, "So, you even called Maha Tian over. Seems you still haven't given up on marrying Jing'er into the Ancient Maha Clan."
On the warships above, countless powerful auras surged to life — and among them, Liu Xi instantly recognized a familiar presence.
Maha Tian.
And beside him... another Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereign.
Even Futu Xuan's expression changed drastically. Shock flickered across his weary face. "Impossible... the Ancient Maha Clan actually came too?!"
Below, in the pavilion, Qing Yanjing's complexion paled. She recognized those warships — each one a Saint-level sacred vessel belonging exclusively to the Ancient Maha Clan. They could channel the power of hundreds of experts, unleashing devastating energy blasts rivaling Peerless Saint Artifacts.
Expensive, enormous, difficult to wield — yet terrifying all the same.
"The Ancient Maha Clan... Maha Tian..." she whispered softly, disbelief flickering in her voice.
She had never imagined he would go this far — bringing not only his warships, but even another Saint Grade powerhouse.
And yet, instead of fear, a calm steadiness filled her gaze. Her eyes turned once more to Liu Xi, soft light glimmering in their depths.
Trust. Admiration. Reliance.
No matter who came — even the heavens themselves — as long as Liu Xi stood before her, she would not falter.
